What did YOU think of the PTB (so far)?
Survivor - I don't think my survivor experience is going to change too much, from the serious games I played - The CI change makes it wayyyyy less boring, imo. Self-Care should be bumped to 40% if they are set on hindering it via percentage nerf. OTR is probably too strong. DS at 3s is useless against the top-tier, ok/samey against regular killers...Maybe make those killers more susceptible to 'non-pallet stun' stuns? Dead Hard is decent-ok.
Killer - Losing some stuff like CI (after 1st down) sucks but is good for the health of the game. Ruin % nerf and deactivation is a bit weird if they keep it as a Hex. Basekit changes are negilgible unless a ton of pallets are already pre-burnt. OTR is probably too strong and encourages greasy killer plays. NOED change is meh/non impactful - Good players won't be effected/care about NOED, still, while others still won't be able to react appropriately.

[Cue Sephiroth theme for Nurse being even stronger than she already was] ;-;

All that I know about the PTB are the things I heard about.
And, unfortunately but not unexpected, I only heard about bad things.

Masamune DLC plz

You can't expect from them only good changes, that wouldn't be BHVR style...
8 -
That is true
Most of the changes are pretty bad, but nothing gamebreaking, besides BP bonus removal from BBQ and WGLF.
I don't care to be honest about DS, DH, OTR, BT being basekit now.
The grind baby, the grind that gets raised to the whole new level after the patch. It's gonna kill the game, Mark my words.

Isnt that always at every PTB? Ppl are always overreacting to changes.
3 -
Too many changes that incentivates unhealthy gameplay from both sides. I hate it with full force.

I like it. There are some things I'm concerned about- Off the Record seems a little overtuned, and some of the buffed regression perks might need scaling back too, but otherwise it really seems solid.
A couple bad changes on the other end like DS stun reduction and the weird 50k requirement for prestiging, too, but overall this is definitely a healthy direction for the game to go and I'm very glad swings this big were made at all.
Basekit anti-tunnel and a few more anti-tunnel tools, killer buffs to make them a little bit more efficient in chase, grind reduction, a meta shakeup... these are all very very good things.

Not a fan, my killer builds will pretty much stay the same but my survivor builds are gone, instead of buffing bad perks so we have more choice and variety they're doing the opposite by killing good perks like self care, DS and iron will, obviously everyone will run OTR perk variety will get worse

being honest: as a newer player, a lot of these changes are making me want to play less and less, and this is after playing near religiously over the past 3.5 months since i got the game. Camping got buffed, Tunneling really didn't get affected too much, endurance stacking just doesn't work well except as a looper tank build (and as soon as the second endurance proc happens you KNOW the killer will drop chase and find anyone gen-jockeying instead). Solo-queue as a survivor is gonna be hellish. Paying 50K BP without a choice, at least for the first few prestiges, feels like the grind is worse rather than 'shorter'.

Got back to live first day because it seemed so much sweatier than my regular games. They are already annoying enough to deal with but after seeing this, holy #########. https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/vp4o51/so_this_is_the_new_meta/

While there are a few things that are a little concerning, they dont seem too problematic and easily fixable
I just wished the rewards for P3 would be a bit better and something we could actually show off

They reduced the grind for perks but mandatory prestige makes getting rarer add-ons harder, especially after removing the bloodpoint bonuses from WGLF and BBQ.
Instead of some meta perks being slightly nerfed and some crappy perks being brought up to their new level for a healthy, diverse meta... they hyper-nerfed some meta perks into oblivion but then also hyper-buffed other perks that fill the nerfed perks' niches, so now their stats will show "Yay we did it they're using other perks!" when it's really just a change in name only. Gen regression is dead; Long live gen regression!
And... that's about it.
Gens take longer, which makes camping more effective as the hook stage timer wasn't lengthened to compensate; camping + Deadlock + NOED is practically a guaranteed 2k. Base BT makes tunneling slightly harder, but the DS nerf made it useless so now everyone is just going to run OTR, so you may as well just smack the person off the hook anyway so that they don't come back later to body block hits.
All in all, I'm pretty disappointed. I liked some parts of the old meta that just needed to be SLIGHTLY nerfed. Instead they took a sledgehammer to old meta perks just to make sure nobody ever uses them again.
TL;DR: Camping: More effective. Tunneling: Less effective? Killer Meta: Regression is still king, just Overcharge/Eruption/Pain Res instead of Ruin/Pop/Pain Res. Survivor Meta: I heard you liked Endurance?

Good update but has some insanely annoying things for both sides.

They remove the exta bp gain from bbq just to make people change side to get extra bp and only if they turn cross on. Witch is dumm since console players hate to play with pc.
5 free hit for survivors is broken.
Borrow as a base kit remove predure for killers and is an extra free perk for survivors.
The 75% of less farming is all a lie. New players will be so screw up by this new system.
This new update seems a huge fail and still needs improbements.

Precisely.
What is BHVR without their terrible decisions?
It wouldn't be, if BHVR knew what they were doing.
And well...they don't.

You're right buffing camping is probably the most disappointing thing in this update, facecamp bubba with deadlock can secure 2k easily on PTB, sometimes 3-4 depending on circumstances and still nothing you can do about it, if I was the devs I would consider this gamebreaking honestly it's DbD at its worst
1 -
OTR is too strong. WHO COULD HAVE PREDICTED THIS???
Sometimes I think the devs intentionally release ridiculously broken things into the game knowing that they are ridiculously broken just to stir up controversy and keep people talking about the game. “These no such thing as bad publicity”
1 -
Playing survivor is going to be a massacre, and soloq a nightmare.
Maybe I will start playing more as killer from now
2 -
terrible. grind wasnt really reduced (especially for items, add ons and offerings) and a lot of the changes just seem really unhealthy
the only changes i like are the DH nerf, and base killer adjustments (except the bloodlust buff) and other niche perk buffs.

Before the PTB: Tentatively excited
After the PTB: Wondering if I should take a break from the game

You cannot say it generally, it depends on some things. Map design? True they have no clue. Killer design? They definalty to a fantastic job.

wondering if this update going to be the final nail on the coffin.

Looking forward as a killer main to the 10 extra seconds base kit per gen. I can’t count how many times I’ve walked toward a generator and it finishes before I get there. With up to 10 extra seconds a lot of those become me chasing someone off before it finishes. The stun reductions are nice too, not as impactful but still noticeable from what I saw on streams. Also there look to be some new combos that might be fun to try.

Survivor - Gets mini meta perk buff at base kit that is game changing with new abusable, stackable endurance meta. Killer - Non impactful base kit changes meant to act as a placebo effect. Most gen perks nerfed into ground with exception of deadlock, while survivors still got adrenaline and unbreakable untouched. Really, walking a thin line Behavior.

Survivor will definitely be better with the base kit borrowed no more being farmed by morons with no protection now onto perk changes I'm excited to use new dead hard and stuff like lightweight and distortion definitely disagree with nerfing decisive and stuff.
For killer the meta switched from gen regression to uh different gen regression perks killer definitely got a meta change right guys?

I like the corrupt change because the setup killers that need it can still use it effectively.
Ruin and selfcare were nerfed too hard.
Dead Hard will still be extremely annoying I think.
DS is worthless against a lot of killers at 3 seconds.
OTR and overcharge are both too strong, and eruption is going to be horrible for solo players. For SWFs it won’t be a big deal.
Distortion recharging in a chase is silly.
Botany being 50% is too high. Either revert the change entirely (and bring back the efficiency), or lower it to 40%.
5 seconds endurance isn’t enough.
Killer meta isn’t really going to change. Some slowdown perks will just be replaced with different ones. Pain res will still get a lot of use imo. Pop will mostly be replaced with overcharge (or they will be used together).
Most of the baseline changes for killer are good, except for the fact that they buff camping. Hook stage length needs to be increased imo and time to unhook a survivor should be reduced to compensate for the reduced attack cooldown.
STBFL should be reduced to 4% per token. It will still be better than it was before.

I enjoyed it and am eagerly awaiting its arrival.

They want killers to not camp but removed the information from Pain Resonance. Instead, they should go for 10% Regression, but stay with the information, where u could go next.
