I have 1050 hours on killer, and around 5 on survivor. Anyone else that extreme?
We hear a lot about killer mains and survivor mains, but I am curious who else extremely skews one way. I wish I had the purity of 100 percent killer, but in my younger and more foolish days I dabbled :(

Dunno what mine are, but it’s close to 99% killer to survivor

I don't get how people can commit to one side like that. It's honestly crazy.

The only reason I'm not close to 50/50 is I only play survivors when the queue aren't too big.
Playing both roles helps you be better in general.

I probably have like 2,5k on survivor and 1,5k on killer

i played for 3,5k hours on Xbox killer only, not a single survivor match. And then i switched to pc to slap another 2.2k hours, but this time i have few survivor games in it. Let's say i'll play 1-2 survivor games for each 20 killer ones. I usually just do adepts/other achievements and move on

It's best to have 0 hours on both sides

I think I have 60/40. Love playing killer but sometimes the q is loooong so i switch.

I remember a profile of someone with a couple thousand hours, who had the killer rank 1 achievement with a total of 7 kills.
Back from the time, where people could reach rank 1 without actually killing.

If you have more than 0 minutes on either side, you aren't getting the best DBD experience

When I started playing, I pretty much only played survivor because I didn't like the killers very much. I probably had a few hundred hours in killer compared to a ~2000 on survivor. When I did play killer, it was mostly nurse, but sometimes billy.
But then blight came out and since then, I've basically played like 1-2 thousand hours of specifically blight and only ever play survivor for SWF. If I'm playing DBD on my own, I never play survivor and just play blight. Overall my nearly 5000 hours are probably like 60/40 survivor-killer but killer is gaining on survivor since I pretty much only play survivor when friends are also playing.

I used to have 900 hours on Killer and less than 10 hours on Survivor, believing that survivors are nothing more than targets for killers to hunt and that it is not fun, but when I became bored with experimenting with the killer meta, I switched to Survivor. Then I learned that helping others and taking risks in order to survive was more fun than playing alone as a killer.

Definitely recommend you play both sides to understand the complaints of people etc

60-40

300 hours killer vs 2-3 trials survivor?
And I know it's not only the one trial where i managed to escape alone against a huntress because of some achievements on the survivor side. Otherwise I couldn't even remember more than that one game.

O don't get how people can invest several thousand hours into this game at all if they are not playing with friends.
The only game where i have over a thousand hours is league of legends and elven that only because I played with friends.
Solo i would get bored out of my mind playing the same game for thousands of hours.
Edit: I forgot world of warcraft but Sam argument as with lol, played with friends.

My hours playing as Killer are maybe 4 or less because I feel miserable.

50/ 50 because I need variety

There was actually a Bug some time ago (I think it was January 2020) where the Achievements for Iridescent, etc. on both sides became unlocked for everyone.
So if someone has it unlocked at this point, they might have never actually reached Rank 1 on either side.

No, that wasn´t from the bug. Saw this achievement much earlier and he also didn´t had the other achievements unlocked at the same time (which happend during this bug).
He legit simply played killer without ever trying to kill. The kills were probably just survivors suiciding for whatever reason.

I get bored only playing one side so I switch between. Killer is more stressful so I can't play it too long in a row. I tried to count what percentage I play killer and that would make me very survivor main. I have over 3000 entity sacrifices but I have played this game 1600 hours and average match usually last 15-20 min so I think I have only played killer like 300-400 hours. So that is 20/80 playing survivor. But now that I think about it I have only 990 escapes as survivor and I think I escape almost half of the matches. So that would give me probably around 500 hours on survivor if average match last 15 mins. So actually I think I play 40/60 which sounds more right

I used to be like 80% survivor but since moving to PC it’s basically 50/50. I just play whichever has better queues for the most part

I can't just skip one side i like variety so i play both depending on my mood.

I have no idea how you can see how much time you have on each role, but I think that for me it would be similar. If you see my steam achievements you can see that I have almost every killer achievement and only 2 survivor achievements.

People just kinda like one role more I guess. I remember that back when I played TF2 I played no other character but demoman because calculating the trajectory of my grenades was so much fun. Maybe some people only play survivors because they find repairing gens relaxing, you never know the reason people may like to play a role more than the other.

I initially started playing only survivor then I branched out into killer, my hours are probably 60-40 now as a result.
I think everyone should play both sides personally, it gives you a better concept of the game as well as making players realise the issues that both sides face.

its about 65 survivor / 35 killer for me. This isnt because I dislike killer more, its more that I like the concept of working together.
However when I play solo and have multiple games of selfish teammates or those who give up immediately, the scales tip further into killer

Who's your most played killer?

Similar to Mandy I played survivor mostly for the first year or so, but I branched out to killer now and I probably spend about 60/40 survivor to killer now, though I don't have the raw time to measure it.
It honestly depends on what mood I'm in - I find survivor more relaxing to play as the match has the ebbs and flows more naturally as you're not always interacting with the killer, but when I'm playing killer it's when I'm in a mood to focus the entire game and practice getting better at chasing.
I agree with what people have said, though, playing both sides is good for you to do, in my opinion - it helps you learn how to counter and learn from other players on how to play a particular side better.

And I bet you these 1.5k Killer hours feel like 5000h.

I know your feeling. I had playtime lopsided to killer like 80/20, but as long as I'm achievement hunter, good times are gone and I had to spend lot's of time on survivor, so now it could be even more than killer's :(
Wish I could see personal statistic somehow.

I'm wayyyyy more survivor than Killer. I started playing during the Rank system. And though I think the SBMM is an epic and total failure, Ranks had their own issues (which could have been tweaked instead of made into BS).
I started pkaying DBD as Killer. And We all know what a learning curve DBD has for brand new players. Back then there was no intro system aside from; "This is a hook. Take this Dwight, and hook him. There, ready to rumble!".
And after like, 3 games as a Rank 19-20 Killer, pretty fun- everyone seemed the same level, then suddenly BOOM. I'd face a rainbow SWF bully squad on comms. So the survivor lobby would have like, 3 purple rank survivors and ONE Rank 20. Just hell for a n00b. Or the time I decided to try Huntress, first time ever. Full SWF flashlight bully squad. It was demoralizing so I just stopped lol.
I tried again AFTER SBMM to see if things had changed. Not really. I've obviously used BPs I earned on survivor to get some not sucky perks, and was still matched with people far above my skill level. I know BHVR says; "Just keep playing! Keep being shat on over and over! Eventually the matchmaking will adjust!".
LOL my pale Russian behind it will. The Killer learning curve is hell, but after staring into the faces of Bubba's, Wraiths, watching that Huntress stand on a hill and aim at the hook I'm on in Solo Q- I don't have it in me to just camp Solos. Don't think that actually helps to learn.
Solo is still the most miserable experience in DBD, but learning Killer under the circumstances is a hell on it's own.

Realistically my hrs are 45% spent on survirvor, 45% killer, and 10% waiting in lobbies/leveling up in the bloodweb 💀

Haha, I know right?
Proceeds to hide the fact that I literally only play survivor when I’m playing with friends or when I want to see what it’s like to go against my mains
