Why are killer queues SO bad lately
the past week or so they have been sooooooo long i understood during event because killer gets more bp but like why are they still 10 minutes long?

Honestly, it wouldn't shock me if there was some DBD Fatigue from the players, especially that first week when you see the BP levels drop back down to normal levels and you realize just how little you get every game.
I have no idea if that's the issue but I know my amount of playing significantly dropped once the event was done with.

Might just be you my queues are 1 to 5 minutes on average.

They used to be instant for me, but lately it's been taking up to TWO WHOLE MINUTES!
It may not sound long, but for me it's like an eternity.

I've noticed it as well. My survivor queues are instant (even at night). Maybe survivors are quitting or switching to killer, especially since the upcoming changes will hurt survivor. Who knows.

depends what region your in tho in oce and i think there is just a lower population in general then something like eu or na

I really wouldn't be surprised if some survivor players have actually already stopped playing the game due to survivors getting so little baseline buffs against camping and tunneling in the upcoming update. Not to mention the update actually buffing camping.

Yep, I wouldn't be surprised at all. I'm sticking around until the update goes live, then I'm out if very little changes from the PTB.

There's no way you're trying to tell me that a 5second basekit BT isn't the perfectly solution to tunneling against killers who have been, for the past x years waiting out 12 seconds of bt + 60 seconds of ds just to tunnel.

I can only speak for myself but most of the time my day on the game starts like this.
1. Start with survivor, get camped to death first game.
2. Try a second game as survivor, killer walks all the way across the map. Teammates still leave me on the hook until death.
3. Try survivor again, run the killer for what seems like forever, get hooked, and all three teammates are crouched around the map, no gens done.
4. Get aggravated and DC during third game. Wait out the time and just swap to killer for a bit.
5. Some nights I'll Play with my brother for a bit. Whether we live or die at least we know we'll try to get each other off hooks and such.
I use to get instant survivor queues in the early day and then instant killer queues in the evening. Now my killer queues are getting long enough that I don't want to play that role either.
This is just my experience of why queue times might be longer. For some people and at certain times it may be reversed.
If the update helps with any of this I won't care how long gens take or if I lose every game. Just so long as I don't spend every game just sitting on the hook.

Yeah I agree. I haven't played in days, just not feeling it. After earning such good bp over the past few weeks, the regular earnings feel like peanuts and I can't be bothered tbh

I was curious how long BHVR could get away with CONSTANTLY buffing one side and nerfing the other side. Everything "fun" being gutted. Survivor is not worth it anymore.

There is too many killers in EU. If I have to wait 2 and more minutes for a match, might just play a different game for few months again

I will stop play survivor for sure. And i am already not playing survivor so much anyway. They are buffing camping, nerfing anti-tunnel perk and nothing for solo survivors. Good luck for their queues.

Well, maybe a few more peeps started to try out killers after a smol brush with the idea during the PTB. As much as I enjoy my short 15s max killer ques in the evening, I am happy for every new masochist whom we can welcome into the fold.

I do think you should discuss the stupid nerf to DS. I can agree that the devs were on something special when they did that.

I noticed this too I used to find match instantly as killer but now it takes more than 2 minutes but as survivor I find match immediatelly.

It would just be satisfying to see crybabies from whatever side getting what they want, only for them then realizing that they destroyed what they loved by being arrogant/entitled/greedy. Goes for either side and they loud screamers here on the forum.
Kinda like the tale of Midas, want more and more gold until it kills him.
Edit: Also let me scream at the brick wall (that the people on these forums are) again that time of day,region, platform and cross play status are important to make queue time discussions comparable and not halfway worthless.

When I saw the update I thought to myself ''lets play alot before the update goes live''. I played 1 round this week and I was done.
Killrates are above 50%, meanwhile the devs stated in the update that they want the killrates higher, so the killer feels more ''scary''.
They don't understand their own game after 5 years, I'm out.
I know I won't be missed but I must say I've been enjoying my time 10times as much playing other games the past week.

I think it's something regional. My killer qeues are awful in the morning but good during the night and visceversa with survivors.

My guess is because of the PTB or maybe survivors are quitting/ switching to killer cause of the upcoming update.

My survivor q times are instant during the day and at night and killer q times are slow during the day and instant at night.

That's why I said "halfway" in search for a better word.
But sometimes it can be:
A: I have over an hour queue times!!!1!
B: That can't be my queue times are nearly instant at one time of the day and takes only minutes for the rest.
A: NO I HAVE TO WAIT HOURS FOR REAL!!!!
B: "Asking for the mentioned specifics"
A: I play from the Australian outback, on switch, at morning before school and have crossplay off. I don't know what's wrong.

The upcoming changes in the PTB around bound to solve this by giving people a bloodpoint bonus for playing the role with the shorter queue.
So once that goes live, we probably won´t see this kind of thread anymore.

This I don't feel like playing solo surv anymore it's not worth it , another problem is BP farming it's much more consistent playing killer with BBQ it's not even close, until they give a bonus 50-100% BP for solo survivors killer queues will always be long

My queues are less than two minutes but, as before, it depends on the time of day. Before 6 PM PST up to two minutes; after 6 PM PST practically instant. I haven't seen a long queue for Killer ever since right before SBMM was introduced.

That is like putting lipstick on a pig. Paying survivors extra BP to play at a miserable disadvantage is not really good balancing. I still don't think survivors will play.

100% agree, no amount of BPs are going to make me queue only to get facecamped. At first some people will actually be enticed but after noticing they are just punching bags for petty people to powertrip theyll notice its not worth it. If Killers are campy in their natural state imagine how bad they are going to behave once they are frustrated by long queues...
As I said in another thread, after the update hits Solo is going to feel like Berserk's fifth eclipse.

Might also be related to people having summer vacation/going away. Or it being due to the heatwave, like no one stays inside, in the EU that is.

Well if we ACTUALLY think about reasons, there is bunch:
- is burnt out due to event
- waiting for grind update
- playing PTB
- ...or even quit because upcoming update is abysmal? I doubt it though.
Also during anniversary it's pretty common to have longer killer que time, so there might be remain of that too.

As solo, it is almost impossible to win under current DBD. I can't imagine how bad it will be with much longer gen times, more buffed gen regression, Thanatophobia, worse survivor perks.

Just FYI DbD Steam Chart numbers are up 50% in June, it’s the largest percentage increase they’ve ever had in a month. A lot of it was prior to the even as well, I suspect Dredge is one of their more popular killer releases in a while. So between that, probably some sales, the anniversary and the buzz about the PTB there may be a lot of people trying the game out. And since killer is a solo only mode, the ratio of people who are solo who play killer is probably relatively higher than the number who play solo survivor, so a burst of new solo players this month could be increasing the relative number of killers in queue.

on EU west (or London region) queues for survivor are <30 seconds even at like 9PM. used to be 5 minutes a few weeks ago. Somethings changed for sure.
