Question About Trickster's Low Kill Rate
Do you think Trickster's low kill rate could be attributed to his level or difficulty varying across platforms? For instance, I used to play DBD on Xbox and aiming with Trickster specifically was quite difficult. You could do well if the survivor was up close and spray them with knives, but medium range and timing loop throws was much harder due to the throwing "pattern" and recoil (Ironically the console recoil is actually reduced compared to pc but does not feel that way). Comparatively, I switched to pc about a month and a half ago and I've had a way better experience with aiming. My knives actually feel like they go where I throw, tracking is much easier with a mouse, and timing the knife throws is way easier when spinning the camera is more simple and accurate with a mouse. Basically, I get more downs on pc personally with Trickster and it actually feels like my aim is rewarded. I would say it is a lot harder to get downs with console Trickster due to the joystick aiming and the camera movement not having as refined tuning options, such as deadzone settings for example. Do you guys agree or have different experiences from me when using console Trickster?
(I do think he could use some buffs in general, but I have just been pondering if the low kill rate could be due to other factors as well.)

There are very few killers I feel like I have zero chance to win with unless the survivors are so incredibly bad that a child could have beaten them
Trickster is one of those killers
I cannot say for sure but the inability to really properly aim with him using my Xbox controller is a huge part of that. It would not shock me at all if I wasn't the only one who struggled to use him with the controller since BHVR seems to commonly forget that they are supposed to be developing a game for controller AND M&KB but evidently they forgot.
My buddy who also plays couldn't figure out why I had so much trouble when he could breeze through survivors with Trickster until he said he was on PC and I was on console and I saw how he could actually aim his throwing knives where I just give them vague suggestions on where I'm hoping they'll go.

It's anecdotal, but I'll blame his killrate on the fact that every single Trickster I have faced since his release simply downs one survivor, and then literally does not leave the tile the hook is in. If playing against a Trickser with friends we pretty much agree that if we're facing a Trickster they're gonna camp even worse than Bubba's have the reputation for. He has a decent power if you actually chase people, but it's so exceedingly rare to get one that actually engages in more than one chase that almost every game is a 3 out.
I imagine controller issues with him are massive as well, that sounds pretty unfun.

My main problem with trickster is how slow he feels. Even with play with ur food i tend to have a hard time doing his dailies. Hes not weak, but hes super average overall. I mean, hes a weaker version of Huntress.
When u hit an axe with huntress u immediately reap the benefits. But with trickster it takes too long to payoff and in a genrush meta it kinda hurts him a lil.

It's map design issues, most of the maps are too big for him and the generators are too far apart.
On places like Midwich he rocks.

He is very map dependent, tall loops are tough for him and he hasn't any type of slowdown / gen pressure.
However he can be pretty solid in some situations of chase and difficult to counter, he is an efficient hook defender and with specific add-ons he is really threatening.
He is certainly one of the worst killer to start with, but with practice he can be really fun to play; low killer rate is due to his gaps that can be bridged only with many hours of patience.

most people dc versus him, that's why the kill rate is bad... he's an awful killer to play against

It's kinda a multiple of problems. He isn't good on controller, He is pretty difficult, and even though he is a bit more on the difficult side, his reward isn't that good for learning him.

Agreed, trickster is absolute trash tier on console.Aiming well with just seems impossible on controller.
Give us decent controller setting already BHVR >:(

Combination of being extremely map dependent and being hard to use on console.
He has zero power at a high wall tile once the pallet is thrown. And he doesn't have anything in his kit to discourage or punish pre-dropping.

It's definitely trickster being hard on console
Hitting consistent knives is super hard due to the recoil spread

Trickster is highly dependent on map and is really feast or famine.
Maps where survivors can't easily break LoS are maps where Trickster will generally dominate since his power can be quite oppressive since survivors can't just W away from him.
But maps where survivors can break LoS repeatedly means that Trickster will have a hard time building up laceration and take too long to be effective.

i remember watching video by coconut. Trickster on controller apparently has no recoil, so if you plug a controller into your computer, you can play trickster with no recoil knifes. No recoil knifes is easier than on PC with recoil knifes.

His kill-rate is combination of being hard to play while having trash-tier rewards even if your good. most tricksters just hard-face camp hooks within 5-15 meters making him not an enjoyable experience as survivor. that's because you can down people in 30-40 seconds entire game through with showstopper(power) and survivor will still finish all 5 generators even if your aim is awesome.
towards trickster player, its like: what is the point in going for the chases when your going to get to same end game anyway from having no gen slowdown/4vs1 potential. He's amazing at facecamping because he has no cooldown/blade wipe animation when throwing his knifes, so he has like base-kit stbfl 20 stacks. basically insidious bubba 2.0.
His only solution to acquire 4vs1 is to slug, but since his 1vs1 is counterable by high-wall loop design of the game(in relationship to gen speed x chase time), slugging isn't too effective for him.

How is Holly doing? 🙂

Trickster is very hard to control on switch and controller.
but controls are good on PC and Mobile in my opinion.
So yeah I think so

While I agree Huntress is Better in alot of ways.
Trickster on the other hand can do well on ANY map.
While Huntress struggles on many loops on The Game and Many outdoor loops as well.
So overall I think trickster is far more consistent while Huntress can do better on certain Maps but do way less on others.

She's good. I was a little worried since yesterday was her first 4th of July with me. I couldn't care less about fireworks but my neighbors love them and so it was constant booming all night over the weekend but Holly was unfazed. Though tomorrow we will attempt bringing her to the vet...
Is that just plugging a controller into a PC cause he absolutely has recoil on the console. Granted it was toned down since he was released but you do have to control his recoil on controller on console unless something changes since I last played him a month or two ago.

the most players who fight the trickster disconnect and that's why his kill rate is so bad?
That is a lie....

Play as Trickster on PC is to much easy, i play on ps4 and, everyone show can avoid my knifes, but, on PC, anyways, you need accurate and practice, and he is good aestethics, but so many matches playing as or against is so painful, unfun and unhealthy. Trickster, for me, has the worst power of the game. He and Twins need a rework.

YES! Trickster feels really slow and I still have no idea why! He's as slow as Huntress but feels so sluggish sometimes. I really do think he needs a rework because his power is just unfun for survivors and makes the killer miserable trying to get to work

Yup, my friend and I had a discussion about this once where he weirdly feels slower than Deathslinger or Huntress despite having the same 4.4 movement speed. I'm not sure if he us genuinely slower or if it his posture from the camera view, but something about him makes him feel a lot slowerslower when he is running with base movement.
Personally, I think he just needs some buffs and not a rework. But if the rework involved something with a music power throughout the trial, then I'd be all for it as that'd be interesting to see how it'd work.
