Merciless killer is imposible to get in red ranks
So merciless killer is almost imposible to get in red ranks as even small mistake or even effiently playing reduce your points in emblems. I just played game with pig trying to get the adept. I got 11 hooks and one died to trap. I didn't camp or tunnel. I carried one survivor to basement thought but then someone came to immediatelly rescue I downed her and put her there too. I left the basement but that unfortunately was enough that I lost points because I stayed close to hook. As other times I left hook immediatelly. So to get merciless killer you should let survivor rescue in front of you and not down them.

That is the correct answer, but not a satisfying one. The basic new killer achievement shouldn't be dependent of the time of the month, yet it certainly is.

I have done all my adepts in red ranks -> before grades.
It is possible, but it's hard. Mainly some killers like Oni, Bubba etc. with Chaser.

I promise you if you keep trying the stars will align for you. You just need the right map and survivors who make some bad decisions. Spread your attention and damage and you really only have to kill 3 of them as you can get merciless even if the last one gets the hatch.

I'm pretty sure that in red ranks, as killer, you need a perfect score - so the last survivor can't get hatch and you need the 9-hook-plus 4k.
It's very stupid how the emblem system interacts with your current rank, but I don't think they can change how an achievement works unless the requirements are literally impossible.

I would say it requires more than perfect game. I did everything right but only wrong decision was to down someone close to the hook as she came immediatelly to rescue. Maybe I could get it also if I would kept slugging last survivors again and again as I did it only few times which was not enough. The requirent in red ranks to get this are just ridicious.

Red ranks don't exist anymore my guy, your rank isnt used for matchmaking anymore so it means nothing, so really the problem is that its very difficult to get a perfect game with MMR

The emblem system is bad, but it is not impossible, just boring af having to let every single survivor do whatever they want in the match. You need to let them save so you can get more hooks. Remember that you also need to finish chases quickly and don't let them complete gens specially on the first nine minutes of the match.

Nothing to do with matchmaking. Your grade has an direct effect on how hard those emblems are to get.

I haven't found it particularly difficult, but you can always wait for Rank Reset.

In red ranks you are required to get better result for example 3K is enough in lower ranks for merciless killer but even 4K with 12 hooks usually is not enough in red ranks.

Well I should say adepting killer like it is lot easier to get with all the slow down and some aura reading perks but still you have to work hard for it. I got pig adept finally in my 5th try but that is lot when I sweat for it. 3 of my earlier tries were 4K with 8-10 hooks so it's got very frustating for me I count those as loses.

Huntress is another good one. You need adequate slowdown with viscous play. Another good killer is nemesis. His ability to hound and infect helps slow everything down to get that one

Good for you now im adepting myers and all I get it ruthless killers now 5 games a row sucks so much even I 4K and 10+ hooks.
Edit: Now I got it with 6th try.

Apparently red ranks dont mean what they used to mean back in the day. So red ranks are not by any means reflection of mmr.
that being said, I did my adept dredge achievement at iri 1. People tend to be sweaty af the higher u go but u can always make a comeback. I take it u main Oni, right? Rn survs are dropping twice the orbs after rushed actions, u can take advantage of that

just play nurse with 4 gen slowdown perks and double distance addons
