To whom it may concern over at the Dev team;

While viewing the tournament for PC, I find some highly unpleasant features of it and in my complete and honest opinion; I wish BHVR would not sponsor them.

People who comment can call me salty, or whatever they want, but I'm simply here to express my distaste against Space ESports and the way they conducted themselves during the event.

To explain further on what I mean:
The Moderators of the Space ESports channel showed their immaturity by timing out constructive criticism which was being received from the audience. I know this is something BHVR cannot control due to Space themselves choosing their moderators, but this created a disruptive environment where the audience could not provide feedback to them.
The Commentators, from what I had seen, knew little about the game. This led to them using improper terms and people who most likely knew nothing about the game, but had followed the ESports Organization previously, were given an improper view of the game.
Again, The Commentators showed an immature level when presenting the content as well as having a stream environment where the viewing experience was pretty upsettable due to the cluttered screen space, music choices being completely unrelated to the game itself, and the Commentators displayed what seemed to be an attitude that didn't seem proper enough to be a caster at a professional level.

In my honest opinion, this "official" Tournament should've been made by directly by BHVR and not an external organization where a professional manner isn 't displayed.

If you feel I'm wrong in any matter or any statement made above, feel free to tell me! These are just my opinions on what a lackluster event this was and I just really feel it wasn't well organized.

Thanks for your time,

Austin

    Preach it brother.

I made a thread having similar issue with Space casting the tournament - unprepared, unprofessional and having wierd attitude about casting. Loud music intermezzos and more.

I kinda lost it when the guy on the screen said he doesnt care about negativite feedback (I would see it about insults but otherwise not), its just good viewiers count for him anyway. I was astonished and sad at the same time.

Agreed bro the commentators looked like they didn’t know much on the game. I watched a YouTuber TydeTyme’s DBD tournaments and it was obvious he knew way more than these commentators. This is also my opinion and I believe for future tournaments they should have commentators who are more familiar with the game.

I can live with the average commentary but there's quite a few moments where the stream starts dropping frames. Also personal peeve but their music is quite obnoxious compared to the tone Dead by Daylight has but again personal peeve.

Also I don't find watching a tournament of DBD too different or interesting compared to a normal Dead by Daylight stream because there's seemingly no special camera mode for people specifically in the spectator role. It's just the same as being dead in a normal game. Would be cool if there was a free cam for the spectator role or a picture in picture mode where we could see two perspectives at once.

Before I forget they could also reduce the amount of sponsors that are shown on screen. Half the screen is an overlay and it's more annoying than anything.

I could be acting petty about it but I personally don't need to be reminded what tournament I'm watching on the screen when it's the title of the twitch stream. I'm not intentionally trying to hate on the stream but for future tournaments maybe take this as constructive criticism on improving the viewer experience.

Exactly, he should've accepted the criticism and not be in that matter.

Tyde's Tournament was much more professional than this "ESports Company".

There is too much on the screen and at moments it's just too distracting. Hopefully someone from BHVR sees this and takes this feedback.

Agreed. I am flabbergasted how poorly this tournament has been handled. Lets not forget the 30 minute wait time between matches, lack of orga > @Lowbei said:

They don't care about the game they paid millions for?...

I fully agree with this OP post, the commentators cared more about the numbers than the viewers, I got so annoyed at how sloppy the action was viewed, it's like having a wedding photographer cutting off peoples heads in the shot, perfect example, but not the only one https://clips.twitch.tv/MiniatureVastHamMcaT

I was so incredibly hyped for this tournament, and had been warned by a streamer that these guys are extremely amateurish, but I was blown away by the extent to how pathetic it was.

I heard Esports and thought " wow BHVR went all out, these guys must be pro's" I was sadly mistaken, they had no experience with the spectator mode or HUD awareness for a decent amount of game time, their knowledge of game invites or the whole KYF system was hilariously pathetic and extended things way beyond which was needed. They never even had team chat channels open in their discord for teams to join to minimize confusion, it was a major ######### show.

I thought the new killer was disabled because of how new he was, I didn't know it was because he was presenting the tournament.
I love your wanting to do tournaments and hope this will be a learning experience, TydeTyme has hosted many tournaments and you can learn alot from his past mistakes, plus his interaction between the team makes you feel more special about the event.

I hope you guys don't give up on this as I feel this could be a great thing for the game, but next time drop the these guys and do it yourself or streamers, best tournament I've played so far Tydes curse of fates 1000% would do that again, fun as #########.

Love you Devs don't give up <3

I've been watching from the beginning and in this time the commentators have:

    1. Been disrespectful to teams in making them wait and ######### talking them during their runs.
    2. Been disrespectful to the chat and DBD community on MULTIPLE occasions
    3. Have made several mistakes on actual actions in the games
    4. Have self promoted constantly. Both them AND their mods.
    5. Adjusted the volume of the stream to suit THEIR tastes.
    6. Have unjustly banned not just people in the chat but an actual competitor without actual proof.
    7. Have broken the very rules they put in place.
    8. Have allowed BMing without discourse.
    9. Have had to question their own rules and have been unclear in what they enforce.
    10. Have constantly lied about their process about delays.

This Tourney has been a laughing stock and a ######### show. And its not even counting my personal peevs.

I was watching Cahlaflour and we're all waiting to watch the stream, he invited her and tolded
her to invite her team, she was like #########, explained that she was the killer and they had to invite the other players, he then told her to tell them to add him. ######### was the point in all captains sending this guy our steam info, doesn't he know how it works, after 20 mins the killer added everyone himself and was pissed AF and it showed.

same for our game, we sat waiting for about 10 mins, nothing happened, our leader was messaging him, worrying what was going on, he then joins, everything goes smooth, then says sorry things are taking a while to set up waiting on the teams, ######### you ignore messages to do ######### knows what then blame everyone else grow the ######### up grrrrrr :)

the best course of action is for the users to join a big steam group and hold their own tourny, to show bhvr how its done?

Oh I've already defected from the original stream over to Cahlaflour, I got info from her end and the chat. It's been just gross. They made her hold in the game for the spectator to get in while the survivors were already on gens.

The fact that the commentators have basically ######### talked the community throws their entire credibility out the window. They obviously don't know this game. They obviously don't care to know this game. It shows.

I'd honestly would make a mega post, but I don't want to give effort when it probably won't even show/matter to BHVR. If the commentators don't try why should I with pointing out their constant mistakes?

I'd agree that it wasn't handled well.

Their 'hatch stand off' rule was probably the biggest offender in my mind, since in multiple games I saw people in chat confused about what was defined as a hatch standoff. Even in the finals, Marth88 seemed to not even know the tourney's definition of a stand off. Most people would have considered them in a stand off when he hit that survivor, but because of the tourney's unclear rule, it resulted in controversy that ultimately further discredited the entire thing in a lot of the community's eyes.

There was also the massive times between matches which was an issue. Between match ups I could understand at most a 5 minute break for someone to grab snacks or go to the washroom, but when you're in the middle of a match up and just need to swap teams, that should take 1-2 minutes tops. Everything was just way too drawn out, and a tournament that should have taken maybe 5 or 6 hours, took almost 11 and a half.

I agree that we should get TydeTyme or someone who is passionate and knowledgable of the game. Watching the tournament for an hour proved how little they knew and it didn’t really seem like they cared about the DBD community in the chat either.

    Oh dear,

    i agree so much.
i didnt read what everybody wrote.
But here is what i have to say!
While he was spectating the games he switched between ppl with no rhyme or reason.
Mid chase he would switch to a person whos doing a Gen. i mean, cmon we wanna see the chase... not a boring gen beeing done.. then the poor choice of music... and how loud it was. at one point his co-host explained how the giveaway works.. and in the middle of him explaining he turned on music and made it so fcking loud, one could barely hear what the other guy was explaining...
And dear lord.. the long waiting between the games. i was part of the tourney and im in germany... for me it went on until 7 am....and that wasnt even the end of the tourney yet... after we go out it aperently went on for another 5 hours=??????and when i left it was already going on for 6 + hours...
And then (i just heard about this an hour ago) the sudden change of rule regarding the hatch....dont even get me startet on that...
boi it was a sad tourney....please just do it yourself next time BHVR! u can do better than this.

Exactly, BHVR should get a known Dead by Daylight community member to host it; Tyde would be an amazing choice because he's done things like that before. Hopefully, BHVR can come to reason to these things themselves.
