So.... that Thana buff tho
I haven't played the PTB (I never do) so I haven't seen it in practice yet but has anyone played the PTB and gone up against a Legion or Plague with the new Thana buff on top of the 10 second addition to each gen time.
Is it as dreadfully boring and irritating as it sounds?

I am sure it is.

Didn't play this PTB. At first I refused because there were still flans to get, and then it was just burnout.
Mostly, I don't get why they buffed Thana when increased gen speeds was already a buff to Thana.

I think Thana buff was done to make survivors use more perks like buffed Overzealous.
Still not fond of Thana getting buff. Maybe reverting it to maximum 16% with healing speed affected could be much better.

The major strategy against both Legion and Plague is no heal so buffing Thana changes up that part of the meta. If you don't like it just heal.

I think the devs thinking on this is healing overall is fairly fast, so buffing a perk that incentives healing more is fine.
Seeing as they don't seem to want to make anymore healing changes outside of self-heal situations, imo, I think they're going with the direction in which teams will be more dependent on each other to heal rather than self healing (outside of COH). They want that kind of healing to come with a heavier cost. I like this idea, as self healing shouldn't just be a free and easy loss of pressure for the killer, it should come at the expense of gen progress or resources (like items).
They also are fine with you being punished for choosing not to heal (in a healthy way that helps m1 killers and not just legion or plague) but it's in the form of a perk so it's really not that oppressive considering a killer has to use a resource to alot the perk.

The problem is that the killers who actually need that help aren't going to use Thanatophobia because they can't reliably get value out of it. It's too dependent on how survivors choose to behave, and most killers don't have a strong enough 1v4 that having several survivors injured at once is something they can ensure. Like, Wraith likes having injured survivors and is good at landing the first hit, but trying to do hit and run in the CoH era results in a lot of chases and very few downs because everyone runs off to self-heal as soon as you drop aggro. (Which incidentally makes nerfing Self-Care pointless, when CoH is still miles better than it anyway.) I'm not saying those killers can't get everyone injured, but by that point, they're usually already winning the match and Thana is an afterthought, not something they used to propel themselves to victory.
I don't really see anyone spending a perk slot on Thana now that they wouldn't before - it's still Legion, Plague, and the occasional stacked slowdown build with Penti and/or Dying Light. People might mix it up with the new Gift of Pain for a bit to see if that's any good? But it's generally going to be same-old-same-old. It's just that Thana is now more annoying than it was before, which was already pretty annoying.

"if you don't like it just heal"
Legion mains must love going against you

Ironically I went against a plague on the PTB but she didn’t use thana

Havent actually tested it but how often do you think thana ever will be or has been at full power for the duration of a whole gen?
As with overcharge I think people are overreacting.

I'm general I agree, since some killers are just downright better at hit n run than others, but I think there are enough killers that could get enough value out of a single injury now that the values are as high as they are, that combined with sloppy and a hemorrhage add on, would justify buffing the perk in this way.
COH is annoying, and can severely hamper hnr, but it also requires survivors to go out of the way to utilize it, which can inversely benefit the playstyle. Self-carr made this worse because you could too easily hide near an objective while healing, or just not be, the killer would never know, and thus unless they have nurses, just lose pressure without any prior warning. At least COH has caveats, just healing wherever, combined with healing efficiency on green medkits if you so choose, are busted and kill hit n run way worse than COH can alone. With the hits it took, now survivors can still remove pressure at their own will, but unless they corral themselves to a specific area or want to waste 1/3 of a gen healing, they will have to find others, and combined with chase efficiency being buffed across the board, these small instances can and will add up.

*Playing against Plague and Legion*
This guy : "Just heal 4Head"
yeah of course let's cleanse and give Plague her oppressive Corrupt purge and healing against Legion is just a waste of time my dude you must be the useless teammate leaving your team in a 3v1 while you cleanse/heal the whole match.
Thanatophobia is a boring perk it didn't need to get buffed they just made it stronger on Plague and Legion for no particular reasons ?
Holding M1 is fun right...

Completely agree.
Tbh, if they really wanted to buff thana for the killers that can’t get much out of it right now, what they could’ve done is make it not a flat value per stack. So for example you could get 6-6.5% for one survivor injured, but then each stack after that is worth less. Fine tune the numbers so it ends up being the same (or even slightly weaker) on plague and legion with everyone injured but overall slightly better on pretty much everyone else. That way they don’t need to increase the maximum penalty beyond 20%.

If Thana gets Legion nerfed I'm really going to be pissed.
