What to do against cheater?
Hi there, I am currently being held hostage by a blatant cheater . They´re using all the common stuff we all came to know and hate. But this time there´s a twist. They keep regressing the gens the other survivors are trying to repair to 0 progress, so we can´t really get out of this without disconnecting.
Any advice?

You have to DC. Otherwise you're just going to be stuck there as long as it takes for them to get bored.

Record them cheating. Then spend the time waiting in game reporting them.

They have shadow tools? Bring your shadow tool too then. Download any software for screen recording and monitoring, then if you spot the cheatkid, record all the match, send a report ticket to devs attaching the link of the video you recorded. Ez pz

Thanks. I´m a little dummy when it comes to such things though^^
They did get bored eventually. I tried reporting them regardless of my lack of recorded evidence, because they should have tools to detect such absurdities right?
They also were a crossplayer (I´m on steam) so I didn´t know how to submit their ID in a ticket.
What baffled me was the fact that these cheating tools have been scourging the game for literally years and they´re still around lmfao.

If you don't have screenshots or videos, the devs tend to ignore the report or take a long while to get around to reviewing it. Also, per the devs/game's community people, you have to send reports both in-game and through the website or it's moot.
The reporting system in DBD is painfully antiquated for even a 6yr old game, and is about 1/2 a step above no reporting system. Take it with a grain of salt.

I just AFK, they'll usually end the game within 10 minutes. If they don't I'd DC but that hasn't happened yet. Though I've actually barely met any cheaters.

If they decide to not end the game and hold you hostage either you go AFK and wait until they get bored or you DC and eat a penalty, if you havent DCd lately it will 5 minutes and it will reset in around 24 hours or so.
Its up to you but in my case I would eat the 5 minutes penalty.
