Will the game even cope with a 0.5 second DH?
I mean I was getting hit down with an active 1 second DH- was it really necessary to nerf again.. they already destroyed it enough

Yes, it will find a way, dead hard always does. haha
9 -
Good riddance.
42 -
The game absolutely will. The game's going to be much, much healthier without Dead Hard in every match.
The perk itself, though, might be useless. We'll have to see how it feels once it hits live, but you'll need to be very good at timing it now to get value from it.
25 -
People will just move onto different exhaustion perks like sprint burst or lithe. You don't have to run dead hard or else you die or something.
4 -
Sure. It's been the go-to "counter basically every killer" perk for the longest time. I'm glad to see it actually have limited usage
14 -
Screw exhaustion, run bond.
18 -
I find the problem with endurance hits is that if they are short the server doesn’t even register them.. the amount of times Iv been lay on the floor with an active BT in the bottle because it only registered on my side.. making it shorter than 1 second.. I dno they may as well remove it from the game LOL
1 -
I like to stay in chase- not run away
0 -
Coconut already said Sprintburst was op, so I'm gonna wait for Lithe and Sb nerf threads
2 -
The current DH is 0.5s...
8 -
Should it be less? I'm not opposed haha
Edited: Oh oops, misjudged your direction.
0 -
I don't use DH at all .. still, I have fun matches which I (i am a mediocre survivor) escape ;)
1 -
I only use DH now and then I like to mix it up- but what’s the point in making it useless lol
0 -
no on the PTB it’s 1 second and it’s being changed to 0.5
0 -
I known but currently DS gives you i-frames for 0.5s.
If it's not a problem now, then it still won't be a problem.
8 -
Imagine being baited by 0.5s perk
0 -
Why you got to do me like that.
0 -
We have to wait, when it hits life to see how well it works. 0.5s isn't a short time period and works on current DH quite well, since they've made the I-frames server sides. So if endurance activation and hit detection is the same, I don't see an issue. But if not we might see a good amount of beeing people complain of beeing enduranced on the ground.

With actual rubber banding, bad hit boxes and the all-time latency the perk is pretty much dead. Another pretty good job so far.
7 -
More or less still disable lunging, probably fine in a way.
0 -
Each nurf to DH is a buff to M1 killers. But the ENDURANCE is hard nurf to S-tier killers. I'm good with that tho.
6 -
It will be as it always should have been, a perk that will have utility to players with some skill and sense of timing, and not an underserved bailout for anyone with an E key.
Yeah, latency is gonna screw some people, but not everyone. It'll still have utility. And DH has dominated the surv meta forever, it's time for the security blanket to go.
8 -
Cope? More like biting more than they can chew. They think this poorly optimized game with latency issues can guarantee 0.5 seconds is enough. LOL
Next up,
"SB and Lithe in every lobby please nerf" threads incoming. 😉
3 -
Sorry, there is no room for such threads due to flooding amount of nurse thread.
2 -
On console they will be on the ground unless killer is potato or makes mistake (no I frames). Only good pc:s has those and still lot of times even in those I frames don't work.
0 -
That's a nice joke.
1 -
The current one is 0.5 seconds. If it works fine for you now, it'll work fine for you after the change.
3 -
It has zero effect on people using dead hard on reaction to a killer lunge. And people currently do this with a 0.5 second dead hard.
1 -
There will come a day that killer mains will call every exhaustion perk "OP", the only OP thing is their endless whining.
10 -
Dead hard is literally just a fighting game parry with a 40+ second cooldown that can only be used while injured now.
Bhvr has two kinds of nerfs: gutting something completely, or buffing it to be even better than it used to be and thats somehow a nerf. Its kind of silly how dead hard especially went from one to the other during a single update.
0 -
It’s like a fighting game parry on a massively easy mode. Imagine how broken Street Fighter would be with a 0.5 second parry.
3 -
Adapt.

I never ran DH and I cope just fine. It's a crutch for mediocre players and unfairly powerful for strong players. The devs themselves said escape rates were too high. If it turns out you can't run killers anymore without DH, you don't deserve to be in your MMR bracket.
2 -
Its funny you mention that, because sf5 and sf6 literally have auto parries where you just hold it down and it will automatically parry everything until you let go. Also catch parries in many fighting games have active windows in excess of 10 frames, while 0.25 seconds at 60f is 15. Also fun fact, 15f is the exact amount of frames for the active parry window for small shields in dark souls 2 :)

The people predicting massive whining about Sprint Burst and Lithe, or even claiming that Sprint Burst is secretly op, just underestimate us killer mains and never have 40s or hard worked been negated at the press of a single button after messing up on the survivors side. DH finally losing its death grip on this game is such an immense weight lifted from killers shoulders all over the globe.
I will happily have to chose between chasing after a sprint bursting survivor or seeking other prey, when this happens at the start of a chase, not when the chase should come to its logical conclusion. And those rare breeds that can keep their SB 99% and then surprise you mid chase, they earned it and are in fact so rare that they are inconsequential.

Dead Hard wasn't even popular until a year or so after its release. I think players will do just fine.
2 -
Nerf DH into the ground. It's horrible for the game and it shouldn't exist at all.
2 -
Its been dominant for 5 years, its fine if it gets nerfed into oblivion and lets other perks shine
1 -
I am always amazed to see that there are always players who, when their precious little DH is touched, are in complete distress 🤣
Whereas as a killer, it's much more enjoyable to play against people who do NOT have that perk (even if they all four escape, I don't care 🙂).
And as a survivor, I haven't used it in a while, because it's really a no-skill perk. I prefer for example balanced landing, which forces me to be more attentive to my environment, which is more fun during the games 😄
Conclusion: learn to play without 😁
5 -
Yep not gonna use the perk when console lag exists

In all honesty, Dead Hard could pretty much be used the exact same way as before with 1 second of invulnerability.
Survivors run up to pallets, realize they won't make (or had it planned out) and press the E key allowing them enough distance to make it to the pallet. Again, no counterplay for regular m1 killers.
So the fact they changed it again is fine by me.
3 -
yes, now it takes skill and it makes running to pallets and windows with it happen less often (as they said they didnt want DH for distance)
0 -
There is a bit of counterplay
While in animation they can't drop the pallet. And there is a timeframe between dropping a pallet and getting a stun.
The timing will be a bit tricky at first but it wouldn't be too hard to get the muscle memory to hit just as dead hard ends.
It will even be benificial to the killer if they do cause then they have a down and a pallet out of the way

Why does everyone always list these two when Overcome exists?
Sprint Burst is trash. There, I said it. In order to get any use out of it, you have to tiptoe around the match the entire game, and the time you do that isn't spent doing gens. You're handing the killer a win every time you run it.
Lithe is better, but you still have to be able to get to a vault location in order to use it.
With Overcome, you basically get a free escape every time you're hit, and it can actually make Lightweight a useful perk. When combined with CoH and Shadow Step, it's mean af.

Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy Dead Hard has been obliterated by a nuclear strike from low-earth orbit, but imo it was the only thing stopping everyone from using Sprint Burst, which is equally as annoying to deal with in its own way. I genuinely predict a lot more threads about Sprint Burst, coupled with overly dramatic phrases being thrown around.
0 -
yeah you're right. They should make it so it only activates when you have been Hooked at least 3 times and already did 6 Gens.
0.5 seconds is also a little long for such an easy requirement. 0.0015 seconds sounds fair enought.

Me a wraith player with mindbreaker.
Any killer with good catchup i think I'll be fine in this new "SB Meta" dead hard forced high mobility killers to commit to the chase to get robbed at the last second. Sprint burst its not so hard to just catch back up. And won't force you to commit to the chase anyway.

Luckily, people who understand how to play around DH properly don't have to worry about this. ;)

Overcome+Lucky Break+Inner Healing+Quick'n'quiet is just too much fun. Get hit, disappear complete and reset in one fell swoop. Its like magic.

Oh no i lost my no risk high reward panic button that made me extend chases that i clearly shouldnt. How will I cope?
