Is doctor working as intendend?
Hey guys i have a doubt that i couldnt get out of my head since yesterday, i play this game since the Hag came out and mostly as a killer so i had my time with doctor already and noticed some "inconsistencies" with his power, but never had a proof since when i played survivor i almost get no doctors.
His basic shock should stacks half-madness and prevent survivors to drop pallets, vault, and use DH right? and when you get shocked while the effect remains you get an icon on the screen, right?
I noticed when i was playing survivor that before the icon dissapear i could already do those actions, wich is kinda strange, its a bug? maybe that is one of the reasons he is soo weak right now.
TL DR: Doctor shock icon didnt disappear but i can already do actions

Never seen any issues with doctor, nor against.
Sorry for no clear answer.

i came to the forum in the hope of an doctor main or a games tester, guess the killer is so dead that no one cared..

Doctor's "disable" lasts 2.5s. Try recording a game next time you go against one and checking it against that perhaps. Might just be a visual mismatch instead of the actual mechanical effect, might not.

I still play doctor pretty consistently and haven't noticed any bugs. On survivor side I can't really say for sure. But may be some latency between the doctor you faced and your own connection.

maybe you are right, it would be funny for the killer to be broken for several updates without anyone noticing lol

thanks for the help bro, guess i will have to try on a kyf, but i swear that if the schock lasted the same as the icon in that match i would not have escaped lol.
I guess he should get a couple seconds more, might even need a faster shock travel speed, sometimes it feels kinda slow when you time it right but the shock hits milisseconds later

I do also feel that his base shock speed can feel to slow most times. Unfortunately his power is one of those very touchy ones when it comes to balancing. Because if it's too slow he's weak, but if it's too fast it shuts down all loops and makes him impossible to play against. It's definitely a thin line to walk in terms of balance.
But I would also like to see a video of it in a controlled setting to see it from both sides and judge from there.

I'd suspect a latency issue.

He is the same as always, next patch will be good for him too. Overall, his shock speed is too slow, making him a weak killer.

Latency...

Doctor has a very serious power problem, just like Plague: His power is SUPER inconsistent. It's why you don't see him very often.
The issue is "Validation." When you use the power, it SHOULD lock down a survivor from performing various actions. In actuality, what happens is: you shock, they scream, they have a second or two, and THEN the power prevents them from performing actions. It's super inconsistent and doesn't actually lock them down when the game tells you it should lock them down.
Rather than fixing validation for Doc, though, we got Validation for Pallets and Dead Hard. Even Gen grabs got a (bad) band-aid instead of proper validation.

Isn't it like that with the Oni right now?

Technically it's the detonations that's slow you fire off the shock and it gives survivors enough time to leave the area before the shock
1 -
Whatever the problem is with docs shock, 99% of the time it's latency/server issues and seeing when it went through
1 -
That's why u use high stims and shock early, I always catch people off guard with that, lol
1 -
yeah lol , oni blood orbs is dropping in a higher rate, people just didnt get mad enough because there a low oni players, and because maybe the bug made him a better killer overall

The shock will prevent you from doing any interactions with your environment for 2.5 seconds, but it will not disable Dead Hard.
That said, if the Survivor has already locked into an animation and they then get shocked, it will not force them out of it. This is most noticeable with fastvaults, as their animation actually already starts before the Survivor physically touches the window, so shocking them during the running up animation will not actually prevent them from vaulting.
I haven't encountered any other instances where Survivors could perform an action like this while shocked, neither on the Killer side nor on the Survivor side. It might be possible that it's a visual bug where the debuff notification on the Survivor side lingers a little bit longer than the actual stun effect does, but I personally haven't noticed such a thing yet (I might just need to look out for it a bit more though).

I have included a picture of all the Doctor mains so that you can find them more readily. They're currently talking to all the Clown mains as well.

Survivors can still dead hard after being shocked.

strange, when i was playing the prompt was gone during the shock period, but i didnt tried to press the spacebar

i see a lot of twins mains too

The latency destroys his power, because you have to pre-emptively shock always, which gives the survivors more running time because you're forced to do it early.
1 -
His shock lasts long but is extremely slow, I think that's the issue.
1 -
thats kinda of a problem, he is already weak, if the killer needs to remember every survivor latency to adapt his shock during the game then just bruh...
I dont play doctor a lot but it might be enfuriating shocking in a loop where you know the hit will barely land and then get cucked by latency

the charge isnt a problem but the projectile travel time is bad
0 -
Hm? I thought it was instant.
1 -
Yeah you have to run Discipline Carter's Notes to fix his charge time. Otherwise he's way too sluggish.

I was considering throwing Oni in there as well but someone on the forums said they were an Oni main six months ago and I'm assuming they're still playing. Otherwise, Oni mains can join in as well.
Someone saying they're an Oni main is sort of like the 'spouse of my friend's sister's cousin does this' situation but it is theoretically possible.
1 -
No, you charge it, release, then it will cover the target area, then after a brief delay, actually detonate, shocking anyone still in the zone. That brief delay is what the addons shorten.
2 -
Uh I thought it was about projectile speed akin to hatchet/redeemer, yeah the explosion delay is there.

Doctor neefs a buff or QoL, his shock takes too long to take effect after being shot
