Solo Q is terrible after reset
This monthly reset needs to somehow stop or only reset you to the most immediate level before. Going back to ash from iridescence gets you in 12 bad games out of 10. It's honestly unbearable. It's not fun. 2 dead people, no gens done. People hiding all over and doing nothing. Everyone running to save at the same time, etc etc... Killers from top rank are now playing here vs a salad of very few good survivors and a lot of newbies and the experience is not good most of the time.

Grades have no effect on who you’re matched with. This has been said many times.

That's matchmaking which is nothing to do with monthly ranks.
Some games you play with potatoes, sometimes you get gigachad.
This can happen for a variety of reasons.

They've said so many things regaring MM that I don't know what to believe right now... while in red ranks I don't usually run into a baby killer.

but after reset it gets worse than during the rest of the month... some type of matching there still might be somewhere in the coding

Correlation =/= causation
MMR is a mess, and a bad run at rank reset doesn't necessarily mean reset has anything to do with it

It's been bad runs since I logged on versus very good killers. Maybe it's just a bad day to play or maybe the whole thing should be rebalanced somehow

Some days be like that; sometimes the hammer, sometimes the nail. It'd be nice if it were more consistent, but I don't think time of the month matters.

Rank does not affect matchmaking. However, getting to red rank as survivor, especially solo q, can be challenging and it could just be those same people taking a break after its reset today. Although, matchmaking has always been very random for me personally so you could just be feeling that as well. Whatever it is, just know that rank itself has nothing to do with the matchmaking.

Yeah I understand that it SHOULD just be based on mmr. But after rank reset the games seem even more all over the place.

It's not the reset. People have been complaining about even worse than usual matchmaking for quite a few days before rank reset. And there's something definitely going on with the matchmaking, I'm on the other end of the scale and I haven't survived this many games since SBMM was introduced.
