Will the game even cope with a 0.5 second DH?

DH is still fine. It still will require more skill to use and the new iteration will not be so busted against rangers like Huntress.
SB had always been better though, granted it is also a high skill perk.

Dead hard will NEVER BE destroyed enough imo... That perk deserves to be buried and forgotten. (at least it's still more useful than ruin)

I wouldn't see a problem if it was gone completely it is one perk just 1 it is completely possible to escape without it why are people makeing such a big deal out of it.

Just use Overcome and Lucky Break.

So now that survivors have no counter for Nurse, Blight and one-hit-downs everything will be great.
This patch has way to many killer buffs and way to many survivor nerfs to last, once it goes live.

How exactly did DH counter one hit downs?
0 -
Only if you're already injured (somehow) - Yes it counters.
0 -
Dude... They now have endurance. For quick killers like blight and nurse it's a hard counter if you know how these killers work.
0 -
It has invulnerability, did you not know that?
0 -
Every survivor now has automatic endurance on one-hit-downs in this patch? I didn't read that part.
0 -
I mean... It doesn't make sence to me go after unhooked survivor with killers like blight or nurse. (Tunneling)
But if they want... This is gonna be a hell of a deal, if survivors are smart.

Was about to say that aswell xD

Not when you're healthy it doesn't

The core aspect of gameplay in DbD is mind-gaming and you have to be required to participate. If you've relied on dead hard to deliver you out of every dangerous situation up to this point, then you were never very skilled to begin with.
1 -
I don't use it, I use Sprint Burst almost exclusively, when I play survivor. And I've never had a problem with Dead Hard when I play Killer.
However, I'm going to point out that your statement is incorrect, since Dead Hard's use actually goes up as MMR difficulty increases, so that indicates it's a high-skill perk used by high-skill players.

still a good perk if used correctly , not a free E to outplay to a killer anymore , either you just do a good read and you get a free escape with the sprint burst if you dont them you can no longer outplay the killer by just abusing Iframes.
solid change in my opinion. (am more worried about DS and the interaction with Nurse and Blights)🤐

That is mental gymnastics.
Through the mind-game, you gain or lose distance for an escape/hit. Dead Hard on live atm is a perk that literally allows the survivor to remove themselves from the core aspect of the gameplay. It's like pulling a gun when you're losing a fist fight...and of course, that isn't skill.

"you don't deserve to be in your MMR bracket." Getting better while "MMR" or "Skill" -Brackets exist, is an illusion. Where is the point in getting better in a Game if you get punished for getting better?
Every second comment here be like: "Adapt", "get better", "just learn how to use it" or whatever... Eventually you will adapt to the new DH if you try it hard enough and a few matches later, you get matched with Killers, which can deal with it, so where's the point in even learning something at all?
I would also throw DH in the bin, where it belongs in 6.1.0. but at the same time i think to myself: "Why should i even care about those changes, when ther's sbmm, which will put me in a lower (or higher) mmr bracket if I was better or worse compared to now?"

Strange way to look at things, it's not exactly an illusion to get more comfortable in chase, move better, make better 50/50 decisions and overall do better.
What I would agree with is that it's a trap in some ways, since the better you play and the more you escape the tougher your opponents become and the harder you have to try. I'll say the solution is to not freak out about not getting the escape, not slamdunk gens like your life depended on it and accept that there will be tough games thanks to teammates and strong killers.
The point I was making is that if you immediately start getting downed in 20 seconds of chase once DH gets nerfed, maybe you should practice basic looping now that you can't rely on a perk to extent chase as long as you can aim it right.

Sprint burst is better anyway.
Nothing says im going to drop a chase like sprint burst.
It also helps you not leaving scratch marks everywhere.

People will still use it, most will fail to get any utility and then move on to other perks. The world will go on turning.

There is no such thing as over-nerfing Dead Hard.
1 -
IMO it will go back to exhausted on the floor days… with latency and delays in this game I don’t think it was the right choice
0 -
Never used it but with all the lag issues you'd be crazy to run it imo

I get what you want to tell me, but it makes literally no sense for me. It's an endless loop. If "person A" got the basics of looping down, than he/she will have a higher escape rate and person A will get better Killers, so person A which learned how to loop at a basic level, now has to exceed his/her basic strategies in order to have not only a feeling of success, but success at all again. If person A got advanced looping strategies down...Can you see where this is going to take us at some point? :)
The endless need to constantly improve, destroys the argument that one should practice more.
This is a fact that I personally cannot ignore. At the same time, I can't take games with SBMM seriously anymore, but that's my own attitude and my comment only reflects my personal opinion.
My point is that it is pointless to tell someone to please do better and only then should you be allowed to have a say, as the argument is nullified by SBMM.

lithe is the only exhaustion perk you need

see this is what a killer main would say to jusitfy anything to watch survivor mains fail.
should of just kept the 1 second instead of the 0.5. and also don.t forget about hit validation and lag as well. this is not going to make the game healthy

I really feel like the absence of Dead Hard will be healthier. It's not really a case of bias, if you take a step back and look at what Dead Hard was like over the last few years you'll see pretty clearly that it needed to go.
The worst case scenario is that nobody ever uses the new Dead Hard and that's still healthier than where we are on the live servers. Like I said, we'll have to see how it functions on the live servers to see if that's the case.

People who are actually good at playing survivor can still use it to time a "parry" with it, but all the people that just used it to dash away from the killer to reach vaults and pallets they wouldn't have been able to otherwise, or dash away from getting hit after the killer caught up with them or out maneuvered them are in serious trouble.
The band-aid is gone.
But's that's fine really. People like that can just use Overcome and Lucky Break.

I think its about mindset. With a casual mindset, you're absolutely right. Why get better if you then simply get harder games? Then you won't ever "feel" better than the average survivor/killer in your match unless you become top 5% or something and matchmaking can't find players your own level, but that comes with its own set of problems like having to face the most tryhard killers, or having teammates go down super fast since they're outmatched by the matchmaking.
With a competitive mindset however, the challenge of facing stronger opponents and the thrill of getting better is the reward in itself. I've no plans of reaching top mmr, I specifically don't bring slowdown perks because they give you free wins, and thus make you face super sweaty survs that exclusively do gens and nothing else. But I do try to practice and get better at chase every game.
Besides, you can control how much MMR you win or lose as killer. If you want to, you can just open gates as soon as gens are done and artificially lower your mmr, just like you can choose to play overly altruistic as survivor and sacrifice yourself to get someone else out to lose MMR.
Anyway, this thread was about Dead Hard, and all I can say is good riddance.

This is how we know dead hard was overbuffed. Validation was supposed to be fair for both sides. But if people never saw dead hard validation work against the survivor (being exhausted on the ground), then we know it really wasn't fair for both sides.

People forget that 0.5s is the same amount of time the current Dead Hard animation takes. If you used DH to dodge a lunge, you'll have the exact same experience now as before. Or if you can predict the killers swing. Plus the validation they added isn't going to go away.
I think it's fine now and I still think it will see some play, but it will be a niche perk and a trump card, probably best saved for some time lategame when they think you aren't running any exhaustion perks.

About time it takes skill, in a different way, it's still "hit a button, get value" but it's VERY precise now
1 -
Yeah, people will complain, THAT'S unavoidable, but the majority of people will celebrate that there's no more DH in their matches
