Anyone recommend a similar game?
Jumped on after a long break and every game as survivor has been absolutely abysmal, plus the amount of hackers has somehow greatly increased since I last played.
Any similar games out there you guys have played and would recommend or upcoming games to look forward to?
Also since we’re recommending stuff and I imagine we’re fans of horrors, any decent new horror movies or shows?

This will definitely go to off topic eventually but I'd suggest SCP Containment Breach. There's also Video Horror Society which is currently having the early access version being readied for release. A film I thought was neat was Freaky. The film by Christopher Landon. It's also a bit of a comedy so don't try to take it too seriously and you'll definitely enjoy it.

Im a filthy console player so I’m still waiting for VHS but might give in and try it on pc, been a while since I last saw footage.

VHS is probably closest to DbD, but as you pointed out, PC only right now. That said, I did their closed beta and did not like it at all.
About the only other horror asymmetrical game out there with a player base is Evil Dead. Well, unless you're on the west coast, U.S.
Folks on the west coast cannot get survivor matches after like 2pm for close to a month now. Why, no one knows, and Saber hasn't commented on it. They've either had to resort to VPNs to "not" be on the west coast, or online friends from central or eastern U.S. to host the lobbies.

But in all seriousness now, I typically switch between DBD and The Evil Dead. Similar but enough differences to not be the same old repetitive feeling

I’ve been tempted by evil dead but heard mixed reviews, might give it a try at some point though, didn’t know about the server issues. I need to look up how the killer works in it, only seen survivor gameplay

evil dead just got a new update but have you tried RE resistance??
the community is small but theres enough people playing throughout the day to always get a match.
other then that i would say wait for the new texas chainsaw game to come out bc im sure that game will be more like DBD rather then Evil Dead is.

VHS is about to launch early access soon™️, and then there's evil dead: the game. I enjoy evil dead but queue times can be horrible and the matches can last pretty long. Often times I play one match and have 0 desire to play another.

As far as horror movies and shows, I just started watching Shudder this week and they have a lot of decent stuff. It’s pretty cheap too, $6 a month after a free seven day trial. I figure I’ll binge on it for a couple of weeks. 🙂

i wont recommend resident evil resistance if you have a PC because the playerbase is extremely small and it has worlwide matching. so generally the lag is very bad and there's also hackers litreally freezing peoples games and ddosing the internets. if you are on console it may be worth buying if you also will play resident evil 3 remake but otherwise i dont think its worth the price

Have you played Friday the 13th? Its 4 players versus Jason, trying to escape Camp Crystal Lake. It's been out for a while. Not sure if people still play it or not.

I think there are 7 or 8 counselors vs. Jason. It's fun and has good atmosphere, but it isn't being updated anymore due to legal issues between license holders.
It's also random whether you play as Jason or a counselor when you play multi-player so that's a downside.
It does have some fun single player modes.

You can play an NHL game. Hockey is literally exactly like DBD.

I saw some early gameplay footage of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it looked really really bad. It was pretty early footage though so who knows, maybe it'll get better. I think the best options for currently active/updated games are VHS and Evil Dead. It's a shame that the queue times are screwed if you're on the west coast for evil dead though, if that never gets fixed the game probably won't last long

By the end of this year there will be several new 4v1 games : VHS, Ghostbusters, and the Leatherface game are to be released soon™. The Evil dead game is already out but is Epic exclusive.

If you're just talking about games in this genre, I 100% suggest REsistance. I know people dump on it but trust me, it's actually good once you learn it. Watch some of SwingPoynt's videos on it. I'm sure he can get you excited for it. It has so much depth and charm and life and no, it is not dead.

Theees not many options for dbd-like games other than what ppl have already mentioned. If youre interested in a good single player horror game, Visage is pretty good. Got a nice (and free) next gen update on consoles too.
