Does Anyone Here Still Play Dredge?

I've rarely seen him mentioned as of late. Anybody consistently have 'it' in your rotation of killers? I still find him a blast to play with the semi jump scares and Nightfall.

Or has he just been forgotten in a long list?

Right now my Dredge is PII Lv. 1, so I'll need to put some points on him before I play him again.

I haven't seen him in nearly a month, but I hope to see him more often. I really like his concept and power.

I play him a lot. I've been playing him less lately though, since I'm trying to use up my flans on my other characters.

Nah. Dunno what it is, but to me he feels really slow and clunky compared to other basic 115 killers.

Dredge feels fun to play. So yeah I still play him. Wish it took like half a second longer to lock lockers. But aside from that I think he's good.

I kinda made the mistake of stock piling all my flans (370 somethin) on Dredge and nobody else 😝

He's my new main with Cenobite in a close second.

If I didn't have any paid dlc yes he would be my main. Great killer fairly easy to get the hang of.

It is the only Killer I am willing to play right now, so yes.

Is this deja vu cuz I swear I read this somewhere before on another post a while ago.

Dredge is fun to play and I imagine its cosmetic customization in the future will be great

I reached all my goals, so I'm not interested in playing until the patch. The Dredge will be played a lot.

I love its basic attack and the passive nature of the nightfall power charging as you play. Its anti-loop is pretty sweet when it works.

I'm thinking there will be some corrupted Maurice the horse skin for Dredge in the future.

I still see him quite a bit when I play as survivor. Maybe not as much as some of the other staples at this point, but he's still a regular.

I've been trying to play more games with him since I need to push the P1 button before the midchapter drops and he still has a hundred flans, but I 0K with him pretty constantly unless I'm using his Exposed iri and the purple addon that starts Nightfall at the beginning of the game. I don't enjoy playing with him for some reason.

Sadako, on the other hand, is digital crack. I play one game with her and I want to play a dozen more, and I 3-4K the majority of them. I've been taking a break from playing her (mostly been focusing on Ghostie and Clown, for no reason in particular), but I don't think she's ever really going out of my killer rotation.

I think some of it has to do with the fact that I just don't understand Dredge's playstyle. Sadako has excellent gen regression potential due to her fast, infinite teleport with no cooldown between jumps, and playing CoB/Pop/Dragon's/Nurse's can be extremely oppressive, but I just can't figure out what to do with Dredge. He works well with Make Your Choice, I guess, and he can camp lockers right next to a hooked survivor... which isn't nice, but it's fun when it works. Nightfall is cool, but mediocre without addons.

I don't know how to use his supposed antiloop at all, but it is fun to jump to a locker in the middle of the loop a survivor is currently running to. It only really works if the survivors don't seem to have played against Dredge before, but, again, it's exciting when it works.

Ditto for teleport locker grabs - I had a Meg just type "What? What? What?" over and over again in the endgame chat after she spent her final moments trying to distract me from a hooked survivor by jumping in and out of a locker on the other side of a map.

He's my main still, I just haven't been playing DBD much since the Anniversary Update. Once the new update drops, with the Killer Buffs, I'll be playing again. I'm waiting for the prestige rework before I jump back in, since I have him ready to be prestiged, but don't want to lose the tons of good perks and addons I have stockpiled on him.

I played him 2 games. His power feels clunky af to use.

Inbetween locks existing and survivors holding W or predropping he feels very underwhelming.

He is a worse Artist and i hate playing Artist so why would I play negative Artist. after realizing that i started playing killers with powers that dont feel clunky or impractical.

I play him a bit. It's just annoying how slow his teleport is sometimes.

  • edgarpoop
    edgarpoop Member Posts: 8,444

Eh, I'm not a fan. Way too clunky. And his button mapping is really counterintuitive. CTRL to teleport and M1 to return to husk feels completely backwards.

I don't like him. His power feels easy to use but not very rewarding. I did P3 him and all but he just doesn't do it for me. I honestly prefer Demo to him.

Dredge is basically my main, but I've only gone against them as survivor once since the anniversary event ended.

I still play Dredge a lot, probably my most played killer at the moment. I'm just enjoying Tarkov too much to play dbd lately.

I haven't seen Dredge in ages, which I'm glad about. I lose a lot though, so my MMR is probably really low and I guess he's used at higher levels by more experienced players.

  • Hensen2100
    Hensen2100 Member Posts: 339

I don't see how, I like having it be M1 since you need to return to remnant and then lunge attack very often as Dredge. So then you are just clicking M1 and M1 again instead of CTRL then M1 which would be more awkward in a tight situation.

I mean he's got not one but three addons to deal with locks. The yellow one, haddies calendar, might as well say "locks don't exist anymore" since it mitigates them almost entirely. Dredge is one of the few killers where I genuinely have trouble deciding what add-ons to bring because they are all so so good.

I generally tend to avoid killers who are countered by running away from a loop and holding W, because there's very little meaningful interaction Dredge isn't so bad because you can make use of his power in a chase, but it's not going to be that effective on a good survivor. He's definitely fun, and decently strong, so I can see the appeal.

Personally I really dislike that there is no downside for freely locking lockers, because that is a part that does make the point I said about being able to use his power in a chase weaker. At the very least a lock shouldn't stop him when he's in Nightfall, or they should take a second or two to lock.

I have Dredge, but I got him basically as they announced how the prestige changes were going to work. It didn't make sense to me to use hundreds of thousands of blood points on him to get perks when I'd get a ton of them "for free" once the update drops.

he can't compete with competent survivors, so that might be why you don't see him much.

I still play him, but I just like teleporting around and cutting the boring walk time out.

He's my bp farming killer. We still have BBQ with bp, and he could make good use of BBQ's information with his teleports, so he was naturally a solid choice during the flan event. Get lots of flans in a match. Get double the amount of baseline bp. Easy choice. Now that the event is over and BBQ is having the bp removed, He's still the killer I have over a hundred flan on from the event. Long story short, he'll be my bp farmer for quite awhile even post update.

I still play Dredge quite a bit; may actually more than when it first released. People seem to be pretty polarized on Dredge's strength, but I find it to be a strong killer and routinely 3-4K (I also took my worst loss since my first year in DBD with Dredge, but I think that had more to do with the strong SWF and it being on Garden of Joy).

  • spodamayn
    spodamayn Member Posts: 220

That's what I did. I think I'm down to 384 on him. I don't consider it a mistake though, he's really fun to play.

They're also really easy to max Deviousness with. You score points for every teleport, so make the most of your 3 charges and teleport as often as possible. The more you teleport, the faster Nightfall charges, and the faster you get your faster teleports, as well as gaining useful spatial information and potentially catching survivors off-guard.

Fired up dredge the other night for a couple of games.

The more I play dredge the more it grows on me. Liking it more than any of the new killers since chains of hate.

Thinking I should P1 dredge prior to the patch at least to get the free boost as I haven't unlocked that much yet and wouldn't lose out much.

I not even sure when the patch drops though, haven't paid that much attention.
