Of course there are killer and survivor maps, we know that and that´s ok, but especially the Badham 1-5 (especially 4) Cowshed and Eyrie of Crow give her extra trouble. As if Sadako did not have enough problems already...
I just have no motivation to play Sadako right now because she just doesn't feel good.

They could do a pass on the TV placements, to make them better at pressuring gens and for chase.
I thought Sadako was interesting until they immediately followed her up with Dredge, who is basically her but better. Dredge's version of mobility is just better and more consistent, and while his chase power isn't exactly strong, it's far better than Sadako's who has... Nothing. Even Pig can kinda use her crouch in chase sometimes.
Also, yeah, Condemned is basically useless.

"She's a stealth hit-and-run killer... in an age where Hit-And-Run has had its back broken due to CoH and the rise of medkits. Similar to Wraith, she is lacking in chase tools. In fact, if you try cloaking and uncloaking at a pallet to take advantage of her flickering in a chase, it can actually backfire as you lose collision, so the surv can double back and drop the pallet on your head (this has happened to me numerous times). Her stealth isn't nearly as good as Wraith's as she has a directional lullaby that can kill her, she doesn't get a speed boost and lacks his extended lunge.
In theory, she has mobility and slowdown in the form of condemnation to compensate for these drawbacks. In reality, not so much.
Her TVs have a massive cooldown of 100 seconds. This is ludicrous. Compare that to Freddy's 28 ~ 45 seconds or Dredge's 12 (or 4 in Nightfall). Sure, she has multiple TVs and teleports instantly, but they might as well be one-time or two-time use with how brutal the cooldown is. To add insult to injury, the TVs can be disabled by survivors during really clutch situations (unhooks, gen at 80%, etc), so her mobility isn't even that reliable.
Then there's condemnation. It straight-up doesn't work. It doesn't work.
Your sole means of applying condemned (without the Ring Drawing add-on) is by teleporting.
1) The range of 16m is pathetic
2) The TVs have a massive cooldown, so you need to use them sparingly.
3) You need to Teleport 7 times... This is too high to force and far too high to happen naturally.
Her entire mechanic is pretty much pointless because getting it to a state where it does something requires the survivors to donate their brains to science.
But let's ignore that. Let's say that a survivor disables as TV in a clutch scenario as I mentioned, and doesn't get rid of the tape. They keep it and now they're at max stacks. What's wrong?
1) You still need to down them. You're still an M1 killer with no chasing power against a survivor that will KNOW to be on their toes.
2) They can still insert a tape. In fact, because they're not even exposed, they can allow themselves to get hit and your cooldown without STBFL at max stacks is so long that they can insert the tape in your face.
3) So what if the survivor can be mori-ed? This might sound ridiculous at first, but really. Let's say a Meg holds onto a tape and she's on Death Hook. What good does that Mori do me? And because condemnation is so hard to build up, getting 7 stacks near the end of the game is not a ridiculous idea.
She is, in my opinion, one of the worst killers in the game because essentially half of this killer's hit literally doesn't work. I don't think she's THE worst, believe it or not, but she's at the bottom of the barrel."
She has too many power in her kit, unlike Killers with single power, Multi-power Killers arent good at anything.
Teleport, Stealth, Slowdown, Mori.
My idea is to weaken her Teleport part and improve her Slowdown.
She can only Teleport once per min, when she does, all survivors gain a stack. So you know at 4-5 min, survivor will have to go for TV for sure.
Then just make 7 stack not able to lose stack anymore, again to force survivors go for TV.
Currently if you cant guess which Gen survivor is on, you waste both your time and a TV cool down.
I've posted a lot of suggestions for Sadako buffs in other threads, not going to rehash them here in depth.
But condemned is totally useless. I am always shocked when a surv allows themselves to get fully condemned, like wth is there a killer instinct going off? Then I remember what it is.
I had it happen twice in one match the other night, which was pretty remarkable as it almost never happens.
But basically buff condemned, her chase, omnidirectional tp sound, cut down the times TVs are powered off, make bloody fingernails basekit.
A few of those and she'll move up a tier or two.
I win most of my games with her and still have yet to use the condemned mori since her release. I get that it's not supposed to happen all the time...but it should happen once every 5 months or so.
I've gotten a few of her Moris off, it isnt as impossible as people make it out to be. The Condemned status is mostly a punishment for survivors who dick around with her TVs. It also is a lot stronger than people give it credit for. It's literally an insta-kill, remove from game. It isn't PH's last hook/kill, it's an insta kill regardless of hook status. You can mori someone who has never even been hooked.
She's a paid vessel for a perk that is pretty much the only viable gen defense perk now. She has officially taken the mantle from bubba.

Not at all. Me and Sadako are doing just fine. She's one of my favorite killers.
I don't get why so many people think she's bad. Maybe it's just that I mostly play Myers, Ghostface, Legion, Pig, and Clown (and Sadako!), but I feel exhilarated when I play her. She can take a 99'd gen back down to zero multiple times every match with the right build, and she can catch survivors off-guard just enough to get hits. I kick some serious ass with Sadako. I tunnel relentlessly with her and pressure gens as hard as I can, and it works well. She'll suffer some from OTR and basekit BT, but I'll also have an extra perk slot to do something about it now that I don't have as much of a reason to run BBQ, and she'll benefit more from the faster chases more than most of the rest of the roster. She'll also get free hits out of Spine Chill getting killed, and Dead Hard will no longer be a threat.
Unpopular opinion time:
I think Dredge, by comparison, feels clunky, and I can't consistently win games with him to save my life. He's like a worse Sadako, not the other way around. He's not undetectable most of the time, his teleportation is extremely slow, no mori ability, no basekit Whispers, fully visible at all times. His antiloop is easily counterable, and his mindgames only work on survivors who don't know how to play against him. His perks suck. His addons are better than Sadako's, but that's it, and at least Sadako's best addons are brown and yellow.
Sadako could use a buff, but so could a lot of killers. Get rid of her lullaby and/or slightly increase condemned buildup. Also, give her some green, blue, and red addons that aren't awful and actually synergize with her power.
If you are playing a lot with her and not once getting survivors condemned you are most probably playing her wrong. Using TVs as a means of teleportation and expecting to get survivors condemned passively will not get you any meaningful stacks.

That so called "gimmick" is what you want to focus on, not hooks. At least for the early game. Focus on one Survivor and keep track on how much condemnation they have. If you down them, dont go for the hook but instead slug. It wastes less of your time and wastes just as much time for Survivors.
Notice your target grab a tape? Find them as fast as you can if you some how lost track of them. They just gave themselves a stack of Condemned and you can stop them from inserting a tape by teleporting to the TV theyre trying to use, which gives another stack. STBFL also works very well at stopping them from inserting a tape while on cooldown.
If they try to take chase while theyre holding a tape, back up, create distance and wait at least 6 seconds until you start approaching. Then approach and moonwalk towards them and as long as you dont initiate a chase theyll keep passively gaining Condemned.
Once you get rid of your first Survivor you can either go for the other Survivors normally and simply use TV's for map traversal, or if other Survivors were trying to bodyblock for your first target you can simply turn them into your new target.
Am I saying shes S tier? No. Am I saying this strategy works 100% of the time? No. But what strategy does work 100% of time?
What I am saying is shes FAR from the weakest killer and nobody is taking the proper time to learn her.
I have come to believe that some people just aren't meant to play killer honestly.
Unless they have a map telling them step by step exactly what to do, they really don't know what to do with that killer if it hit them in the head.

Sadako is such a unique killer that really doesn't play like anyone else, and nowadays people just want to pick something up and immediately do well with it.
Its why killers that take a long time to get good results with aren't played nearly as much, Billy, Twins, Hag are others that come to mind atm.
there's absolutely nothing unique about sadako she's the most basic killer in the game even more than trapper. there's not a single thing she does that others don't already do and far better.

and your suggested playstyle would take ages to accomplish anything or it wouldn't even do anything in the first place since survivors don't bother to take the tapes when it's actually better to let her use the tvs lol.

I can't blame you for thinking that way, she does seem very basic on the surface but when you actually put in the time to learn her, its a whole different story.
And yes, it does take ages to accomplish. My games as Sadako tend to last around 15-20 minutes on average. All you do is chase people off gens and focus down one Survivor.
Survivors tend to not grab tapes because most people simply don't know how to play Sadako, they don't play with Condemned in mind. With this playstyle you almost force them to grab tapes.
When you dedicate your gameplay to something it becomes much more possible, in fact I get at least 1 Condemned kill almost every game I play as her. She does require a lot of time to learn and I understand why most people don't want to spend that time on something that wont get them guaranteed results like Nurse or Blight.
I don't know what baby survivors you are getting that will allow you to "chase them off gens" for 20 minutes solid. Most good survivors are going to barely respect your presence as Sadako when you are nearby their gen, and will start working on it the second you go away. The only way to stop gens is by downing people, which Sadako is terrible at.
Condemned is trivial to remove, and without multiple stacks of STBFL (a horrible choice on a killer who can't preserve the stacks) they can just put the tape into the TV right in your face even if they are incompetent enough to actually reach full condemned in the first place.
And that's not even getting into how the survivors can just disable your teleportation power, or how she needs to run her absolute best addons to make her power even a mild threat in chase.
Dredge does everything she does but 5x better, that's all there is to it. There is no secret way of playing her that your average DBD player just hasn't "learned yet"

I was going to say they need to drop the cooldown on her teleporting, from 60s to like 30s, but I like your idea better. Teams will have to coordinate better (easy for swf but solo could struggle) regarding video tapes to ensure there's still someone on gens while everyone is running around trying to shake off their condemned.
They cant buff her Teleport because if she's lucky, she can make 7-8 stacks (on 4 survivors) just in 2 teleports. My idea is to make her stacks gain consistently but not too fast. The biggest point of this change is 4 survivors cant remove stacks at once, since there must be someone keep on Gen, and there are not enough TV for 4 survivors to do at the same time.
That's what makes her fun for the few people that seem to be enjoying her, she isn't a typical "haha anti-loop/map teleport goes brooom". You have to dedicate quite some time to get used to the way her TVs and condemnation works to be able to strategize properly and read the survivors' movement.
It's just that in the current meta, and I agree with you on that, if you don't have tools that help you end chases quickly or give you great mobility, your killer will probably require time and effort that the average player can't bother to learn properly, especially with different, more attractive alternatives.
But well, call it delusion, copium or whatever, I will still enjoy her playstyle regardless.

Well, to each their own. I can't win with Dredge. I win most of my games with Sadako.
I'm a Myers main, actually, but Sadako is one of my primary side killers.
Legion is pretty good, too, or was, even before the buff. I don't know if I'll 3-4K 90% of games anymore since Ruin was so central to my Legion builds. Ruin/Undying/Thana/Pentimento was a monster.
Who do you main? Most of the people I see hating on Sadako are addicted to killers with strong antiloop and/or M2 instadowns and can't play with anything else. You probably don't even think that Michael is SS tier.
i play almost every killer except ( huntress, billy, spirit)
but i guess the one i enjoy the most is trickster and I've also been enjoying nurse a lot, because these killers are a break from the usual chase loop every other killer has to do.
michael is also one of my favorites and the one i go to when I want to warm up even tho he's one of the weakest fellas but I don't care for that.
my problem with sadako is how the devs treated that license with such disrespect.
it felt like a rushed chapter just to get a popular license into the game and draw more players but completely ignoring the meta that their game is in and how it affects her she's neither unique in what she does or is she effective in doing it. then the very next chapter has a killer that's her but better and with mecanics +design never before seen in the game which felt like a such slap to the face for the people who enjoyed her.
unless she gets heavily buffed to be able to function in current time dbd she's just another killer that will never see play except by the few people that like her already.
Well, I saw the Ring movies years ago (the American versions; haven't seen the Japanese ones), and they're good, but I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of the license or anything.
I think that a lot of the people even in this thread have some incorrect ideas about her. She's not a hit-and-run killer like most people seem to think; play her that way, and you're going lose.

No, that's actually correct, sort of.
The very first thing you should do with Sadako is get a down, yes. Then teleport to a few gens, kick one with a reasonable amount of progression with Pop and Brine (I may replace Pop after its nerf, but maybe not; it'll still give a decent amount of regression on a 90% gen), maybe hit whoever's next to it if they hand it to you gift-wrapped, and then teleport over to the hook just as the other survivor is getting unhooked and down them again. Bait the DH, wait out the BT, eat the DS, and rehook them. Survivor near the gen you kicked has probably just activated Dragon's Grip; go back and take care of them. That survivor will be too scared to tap the gen immediately next time, giving Brine some time to work.
Playing mean is the only way to win with Sadako. (If tunneling is much harder with new OTR, it might be worth replacing Nurse's with Make Your Choice.) Genrush squads will often slow themselves down to go for hook saves or bodyblock if they know that you're tunneling, giving you free hits and extra slowdown.
Sadako isn't any worse at getting downs than other M1 killers, if you know how to play them. Know your mindgames. Break pallets; don't play around them. That just wastes time, and once you've been fed every pallet on the map, which will happen over the course of a few chases, there won't be chases anymore. (Obviously, still know when to abandon chases to protect your three-gen, which you should have picked at the beginning of the game. If you get a three-gen with 2-3 survivors left, that's game. However, her teleport speed means that you can effectively treat most endgame setups as a three-gen, even if they're not actually close together.) The killer chase buffs will help here, but I generally don't even have to run anti-chase perks since, as he pointed out, survivors don't respect Sadako's presence and will hand you your first hit for free, especially if you approach while cloaked.
You do need to run her best addons, and her only good ones are the yellow and brown that decrease her teleport cooldown. That makes the game. Her teleport is much better than Freddy's or Dredge's because you can check every gen in the map within a couple of seconds due to no overall cooldown, and with the individual TV cooldown lessened and usually multiple TVs in an area, you can pretty easily move across the map quick;y or immediately with no penalty.
Condemned does indeed suck, and you should not be playing for it. Ignore that unless survivors hand you a kill, which will happen once every twenty or thirty games, sometimes in the first couple minutes of the match because Dwight thought it would be helpful to remove every video tape on the entire map at once. However, survivors will mostly ignore TVs, and the rare ones who don't have an extra objective, and it actually won't slow you down much since you can just use the next-closest TV instead. With the brown and yellow addons, the TVs will be back up much quicker than they can deal with effectively. As survivor, I only mess around with TVs if I'm trying to open an exit gate.
tl;dr: Tunneling and gen regression are where Sadako excels. If you try to hit-and-run people or make the mistake of playing nice, you are going to lose.
I'm not saying she's perfect. She does need some buffs. Her stealth is semi-ineffective, and condemned doesn't become a threat unless you're absolutely not paying attention; even Pig's RBTs are significantly more menacing. But if they fix those things, she might become a higher mid-tier killer considering the recent killer buffs.
Condemned in general needs a buff, a survivor can completely control it when it's the killer's power. All you need to do is just put the tape back and never touch a tv, then her power is killed. It remains a teleport. She needs a buff
She's the worst stealth killer in the game, she literally gives away her presence by having a lullaby. Now that's just plain ridiculous. Remove that nonsense, also get rid of global notification sounds which tell everyone that she's actually using her power. How the heck is she supposed to sneak up to ANYONE if she has this much counterplay?
Sadako's balance patch has been delayed due to the next Midchapter.

Assign each TV set directly to a gen. Sadakos curse preotects the gens from being worked at until the TVs tape is taken out. So long as at least one survivor is holding the tape the corresponding gen can be worked at. This will give Sadako some cool info were the survivors might be, while also preventing her from teleporting directly towards them. It also gives survivors a secondary objective and keeps the tapes and passive condemnation in the game and a real, constant threat.
I would also somewhat tweak the condemnation rates, especially how easy you can get rid of it, maybe reduce it from 4 stacks to 2.5? So you could still reduce your condemnation by purposefully spreading tapes around, but not "just do one and be done" like its the case now.
I also think that it is a design fail to not show Sadako the condemnation progress of the survivors, while giving every survivor perfect knowledge. I won't even touch this from a lore perspective (were it would be total BS), but from the mechanics itself. Normally you don't give the killer all the info because you don't want them to focus on a certain survivor and tunnel them. Tunneling with condemnation isn't possible, though, as you can't purposefully hunt someone with condemnation. You could teleport next to them and give them another stack, but there just aren't enough TV sets around to make this a real strategy. But if everyone knew that Sadako knows how far condemned they are, this would passively change the way survivors play. Right now you can easily just pick up a tape when you reach 5 stacks and nearly purge it all by just running around the map, once. Now there is a risk involved because Sasako might be on the lookout.
Sadako is tricky depending on the map. The TVs are always in the same places, and although they should be near gens, there are some that are not. Take Midwich as an example, as there is one TV that is in a room near a gen, and you have to go all the way around to reach the gen, giving survivors time to hide or finish the gen. So checking and replacing some TVs is necessary if they want Sadako to work as she should.
Another issue is the condemnation mechanic. I know that you could instantaneously kill someone if the condemned status effect is fully built up, but It simply takes too long for It to even be a small nuisance for survivors. If this status effect had a passive increasement , like Pinhead's chain hunt and falling asleep against Freddy, It would make matches against her more interesting. Of course, carrying a tape should make the condemnation increase faster and Sadako TPing to a nearby TV should also keep it's effect. This would transform the condemnation mechanic into an actual thing in a match instead of the meme it is now (gosh, I have seen survivors fully repairing gens while carrying tapes) .
I believe the last thing I am going to say will have cero support, but here I go. The sounds she makes while being undetectable should be removed completely. The point of having that status effect is to be SILENT or difficult to spot, and hearing the sounds she makes when being undetectable give her away. Stealth killers tend to underperform when compared to other types of killers, and making Sadako completely silent would help. I mean, for a killer like Wraith, Who is.nearly invisible, It is fine to have his growls as a sound alert, but Sadako is easier to spot when she is near, as she is not always invisible and needs her time to manifest.
Yeah but why would you wanna tunnel with Sadako? She is awful at it unless you have 3x chase perks in which case it's the perks doing the work not Sadako anyways. Even the Trapper has a better chase because at least his power can do ~something~ for you. No competent survivor is getting hit from a TV without a massive outplay, even with bloody fingernails. There is way too much notification it's coming and the animation takes too long.
I also don't think it's better than Dredges teleport. Dredge teleport is super deadly mid-chase, especially with addons or in nightfall. It turns all sorts of what would normally be god-loops into basically free hits if you time it correctly. The survivor gets almost no time to react if you teleport to an unlocked locker during nightfall.
She has nothing at all going for her. If you stomp a team with Sadako, you could have stomped them with any killer. I play her for the memes only when I feel like punishing myself.

No, you won't hit them straight out of a TV, but you can easily get them a couple seconds after that.
Sadako is awesome at tunneling, on the contrary, because a lot of survivors won't hear the lullaby if they're working on a gen and you're approaching from a distance with your terror radius off, giving you a free hit, and you can go kick a couple gens across the map while the survivors think it's safe to unhook
In my experience, using Dredge's teleport in chase only works against potatoes. Good survivors will see your husk and change directions, and it's too slow to do anything about it unless you're in nightfall. Sadako's teleport is fast for the entire game, not just a handful of thirty second intervals.
The key to chasing with Sadako is to use guerrilla M1 tactics, like I said. You don't need chase perks as long as you're pressuring gens correctly and abandoning hopeless chases. Once a few pallets are gone, she becomes easy.
Sadako has gen regression going for her. She can dominate a three-gen better than any other killer, hands-down. Get one kill and three gens close together with the right build, and it's over.
Any killer can be viable against almost any team. Absolute top-tier survivors who play with surgical precision, pound gens out in less than five minutes, and make no mistakes in chase can decimate everyone but an equally tryhard Nurse or Blight, but those aren't as common as some people seem to think. Back when there was a rank system, there were plenty of people playing Myers, Clown, and Legion at Rank 1. They weren't common, but they existed. Some people just prefer easier killers.
Dredge is a very different killer than Sadako, and, IMO, in the same tier. Dredge is really not much stronger. He has some strengths that Sadako has, but the reverse is also true.

Sure it's not as potent during daytime but with good timing or Boat Key it's fine to use for more than mobility. Nightfall it's super strong and infinitely stronger than anything sadako has.
Why do you say she is good at tunneling because she can sneak up to survivors on gens? That is not tunneling. Tunneling is proxy camping the hook and then immediately going after someone the second they get off it, which she is bad at.
I also want to say that just his remnant is better than Sadako's entire kit. She's that bad. The absolutely massive CD on the TVs means hit-and-run doesn't work unless you have Iri video tape. And you need bloody fingernails to make the TVs do literally anything chase-wise. So that leaves no room for passive phasing addons which means she has nothing at all for a chase other than being a lousy M1 killer who gets looped to oblivion.
It actually kinda blows my mind people would ever put them on the same level. One is anti-loop, the other is not. That alone puts them on entirely different tiers.
You apparently didn't read my original reply to you, but it already addressed several of your points. Hit-and-run doesn't work at all on Sadako, ever. I explained why. She's not a hit-and-run killer. If that's how you tried to play her, it explains everything.
Her iri addon is barely better (in some situations, worse) than her similar brown addon, and the only addons you should be running are her brown and yellow cooldown addons (as I also explained earlier).
I elaborated quite a bit more on the above two points and others you may have missed in my original reply to you.
You cut down half of the time it takes to start tunneling if you get a free hit. The problem that some M1 killers have is that you have to go through two chases to get your first down, which can lose you three gens against good survivors. Sadako needs one chase to start, and then she can proxy camp, and two or more survivors are not doing gens while they go for the rescue.
If you want to know why Sadako is in the same tier as Dredge, read my other posts. I don't wanna retype it all.
Devs won't do anything until 2025, just like how they left Clown in an awful state for years - and then when they buff her it still won't be enough, just like the "rework" to Clown didn't do much for him.
