Can any Switch killers give me advice on how to reliably hit survivors

I have a few hundred hours on Switch and I play lots of killer, but even with all that practice I still can't reliable hit survivors that try to juke hits. I struggle with 360s and I find it hard to hit survivors when they exploit my POV as killer to disappear when they get close to me. Combined this with playing on controller, the switches performance and the weird aim dressing that happens sometimes, I often have chases that last 50 seconds instead of 5 because I whiff a hit before they got to a window.

Can any Switch killers give me advice on how to deal with these problems? I would appreciate it.

I'm not on switch but I can give advice, when you're close enough to get a hit try getting a hair closer and just tapping the swing button instead of holding it and you'll hit them most of the time, the issue is when you hold a lunge you're easier to 360 and it's easier for survivors to abuse the aim dressing and it's like you glide right around them

Thanks, I do try to do that, but sometimes I do a short swing, then the camera shakes and I miss, possibly due to the aim dressing.

No idea if these are even remotely good advice, but it works for me maybe you too :)

Are you on a Pro Controller or the Joy Con Controller? It is probably just a learning thing but the small sticks on the joy cons are a pain to deal with for me personally

What is your sensitivity? I personally have the least problems with 70. It is even perfect for killers like Huntress for me.

When people try to do some funky movement in the middle of nowhere I always step a bit behind and then do a swing. Or wait instead to predict them. Like the person above said normal hits are easier to hit than lunges

One thing I learned on Switch, if you believe a lunge will hit, lunge a second after that. This is the most important for me

i have like 1k on switch and you just have to be patient. when they try to 360, don’t swing just back up and see where they’re at. also! when following behind them, try to cut them off instead of following directly behind.

I'm on joy cons as I play portable mode.

I'll try the 70 sensitivity and see how it goes, I think I'm at 60 or so.

    Thanks for the advice everyone!

Okay I have almost 3k hours on switch. I play switch only and when I'm playing killer many surviors try to 360 or FOV me. Depending on what I've seen the survivor do before I'll either swing with a quick hit or step to either left or right (depending on which way they circled) and then swing.

The side step works as they circle into you as you tap the hit button. Many try to FOV you when they have dead hard which isn't an issue with DH anymore now being dead. But if someone still does that DON'T turn around, just step back a little. This step back will catch them quicker than spinning around and you keep movement speed up. They will normally still be close enough to hit at that time too.

But if you're still having issues it's okay to wait until the survior is in an animation lock like vaulting or throwing pallets. A thing to do is run unrelenting when trying to learn hits and even now pair it with save the best for last.

Don't be discouraged from survivors doing this, use it as a means to get better. If a survior starts to go side to side for a 360 pick a side they are about to go to. Each situation is different analyze it and see what the best call is. This will get easier in time. And there is no shame, you're learning and that's great!
