Finally, stop making new players afraid of the Solo Q !

yo,

to all new players here. I play since 2016 and only solo (Survivor) . There are good rounds and there are bad rounds and that is completely normal. Your MMR will level out over time.

Please don't be put off by posts like "Solo Q dead" and so on, that's just bullshit.

SWF is easier and soloing is more challenging, but it can be fun.

greetings

    "giga chad music"

Pure DBD is solo queue. It is where random things happen good and bad

People should be able to state their opinion, but I agree that much of the "solo is impossible" or "solo q is worse than waterboarding" narrative around solo queue here is total hyperbole and melodrama. I play solo almost exclusively (like 95%), and I escape probably 40-50% of the time (and no, I don't immerse and vulture escapes).

While it can be infuriating a times, it's not that bad, especially as you improve and move up in MMR and most potatoes get filtered out. And cutting your teeth on solo is going to make you a better survivor in all instances.

SWF is fun and relatively easy, but it that's your baseline for what surv play should be, of course everything else is going to seem really rough. I tend to think people with hottest takes on how bad solo is are probably looking at it only in comparison with SWF, which is kind of flawed, since most survs are solo, and SWF are in the minority. Solo is more of the stock survivor experience.

All that said, I would like to see some of the solo QOL changes that were discussed a while back.

Let know other players perks, please.

There is no challenge to be had when I leave a gen to unhook someone and the player has Deliverance

This isn't actually that hot a take, imo. I think solo queue is much more in the spirit of the game than SWF, because the idea of cross map comms doesn't jive with the premise at all.

Of course there are sensible, obvious ways to improve it, like proximity comms, being able to see your team's loadout, indicator icons so you can see what each other are doing, etc. that have been discussed and seem like good ideas.

But I think solo queue is definitely more in line with the premise of the game, and "winning" in solo definitely feels more gratifying.

I was a mix of solo q and SWF before this update, and logged a good number of hours. With this update I expect my time on the game to cut down to maybe a third of what it was before, or less because solo q was set on fire. I’ll either play SWF or play something else.

I don't think they were trying to portray is as "great". There is a lot of middle ground between "great" and "absolute torture", which is how many here portray it. It's not a binary assessment.

I think OP was gong for "not that bad", which is perfectly reasonable. It could and should be improved, but there's a whole lot of hyperbole about how bad it is, and a little counter to that is fine.

New players need to know to better find SWF to play and not to suffer alone and ended up hate this game immediately.

That's the current state of the game.

I agree with this. I think part of the anxiety/mystery/intrigue of the game initially was that you as a lone survivor finds themself in a match (again and again)- you don't know your team mates. You can't speak to them. You have no idea where they are or what they're doing, but you're dependent on each other for a common goal. It added a game of chance to it all.

But then came SWF which obliterated the entire concept, while providing an absolutely massive advantage. A 4-man on comms has multiple perks built in just because they're able to coordinate (perks, items, strategies), call things out as they happen- no need to waste perk slots of Kindred, or Bond, or Empathy, or any of those things. So of course, they would coordinate with META perks, which gave already hugely advantaged teams even more of the same. The former META perks were designed pretty much for Solo Q use, where you cannot rely on your team mates and really have to run perks with that in mind.

I'm not saying people shouldn't play with their friends. Hell, I'd love it if I had friends into DBD, but ever since, Devs have been balancing the game for Killer vs SWF on comms and Solo Q is just forgettable, meaningless cannon fodder.

Honestly, think about even in a Solo match how helpful it is to see the Obsession is being chased. Just those two claws moving around the character portrait is insanely helpful. But the developers won't even give Solo Q THAT much. They just buff Killers, make a bunch of nerfs that only marginally affect SWF and make Solo miserable.

I would LOVE to see the data on the Kill rates for each Killer vs Solo Q. Have they ever released such a thing? (asking anyone).

Well trio can be more painful than anything else when the ramdom loses the game for your team by just hidind or running whole match not doing gens or anything useful. Well it's just more pain as you know you would won that game if the ramdom would done something or if you would been playing in 4 man swf. But overall yes duo and solo are weaker. I hava had veey good games as duos thought when your teammates are another duo so then it's almost like playing swf as you can coordinate pretty well.

Anecdotally, I’m having the worst time I’ve ever had since 2016 as a casual solo q. I’ve had a thana legion that was a 30min long game, a wraith that wanted to prove that he could still tunnel me into the ground after being the first survivor found, a scratch mirror Meyers with a mori on top of it working with a survivor, not one match I would characterize as fun since the update, and I was on at launch time this morning. I’m more tilted than I’ve ever been in all the years I’ve played. I have to take a break from the game and I’m heartbroken because I was so optimistic about the changes but I just can’t handle where the game has gone.

I am curious how the changes are contradicting and unreasonable though. I don't think the buffs that killers got are a problem. More the lack of help that survivors, especially solo survivors, received in this patch.

I don't care if there are other opinions on the subject. It just scares off new players and it doesn't have to be that Solo Q gets such a bad reputation just because it doesn't work for some people. Solo Q as a survivor is currently much more fun than it was before the patch.

    HAVE FUN ❤️

Do you really think a new surv can escape? Perhaps they can finish 1 gen, but that’s all

  • PNgamer
    PNgamer Member Posts: 1,415

Why don't you stop saying such nonsense?! Of course they can.

The killers they play against adapt over time.

The killer they play against has been buffed, and gen times have been make longer. A new surv without perks can’t escape

Look, another solo Q player that never actually plays solo Q.

The reality. If players are coming to this game they pretty much know what to expect. They know they need to study up and watch some vids to get savvy real fast. If they don't than they're just not respecting the game for what it is.

You clearly do care since you're telling them not to express it.

I'm not saying don't express them, I'm just saying I'm not interested in your opinion (Badmouth the Solo Q) on the subject.

    That is a difference
