PSA Sole Survivor isn't fast enough to open hatch after a killer M1

Was interested to try out the new Sole Survivor as it seems like a good clutch if you manage to be the last survivor in solo que which is fairly common, I brought a key and the killer shack hatch offering and waited for the killer to kick it then took a M1 and tried to open right after, speed isn't fast enough and you get grabbed while opening.

Wasn't asking for advice, no offense, was simply doing a PSA that the perk won't allow you to take a M1 from a killer standing on hatch and let you open it without taking another M1 due to the killer attack speed buff.

This is a good thing. There would’ve been nothing the killer could do otherwise.

Thanks for your Sacrafice to science. Appreciate the info.

Btw, it’s also not fast enough to open an exit gate in one shot after fast/teleporting killers leave the first time. Even paired with Spine Chill & wake-up. You would still need to do the 1/3 trick (stop right before 1st light turns on), hide, then re-engage. So killers like Spirit, Blight, Sadako, Oni Powered up, Nurse, Billy, Wraith with Speed Add-ons, etc - treat like normal. Everyone else you should be able to get it off no matter how close the other gate is. I also had Resilience, but I was injured. Based on how fast the spirit returned from leaving the first time, resilience wouldn’t have mattered. I MAY have opened the gate in her face, but I would have just gone down due to being injured.

But I believe hatch progress doesn't reset when you get interrupted, right? So I guess the perk can still come in clutch if you start trying to open it, let go of the action so the killer can hit you instead of grabbing you, than finish it with bonus speed.
