Does reporting do anything in this game?

Curious because I've had some serious problems with teammates lately. I suspect because of this god awful patch that is unspeakably killer friendly. I've never seen survivor this weak and I'm a day 1/beta player. I've had to report so many people for unsportsmanlike play, AFK, being the literal 2nd killer, sabotaging team, etc. It's hard to enough to win with the game in it's current state, much less 3 vs. 1 and sometimes 3 vs. 2.....

So does reporting actually do anything? Are these griefers and trolls ever punished? Or am I just further wasting my time ?

Seriously considering being done with this game.

It does do things but you need to have a recording for proof and submit that as well with the ingame report feature.

It has so many hoops to jump through to do anything that unless you're a streamer and record everything already, no. It does nothing for the average player.

Absolutely not. I reported a player talking about white supremacy and saying stuff like the white race will prevail and nothing happend.

I suspect it only makes you feel better. But I report anyway. Maybe if the player gets 50 reports in a month someone will look into why that is so. I also started rating my games at the top of the tally screen. Now that, I'm absolutely sure does nothing. I personally would like to see griefers and chronically Afk ragequitters put into queuing h*ll where they can only be matched with each other. See if they survive the 30 min lobby since they don't want to play like normal.

Nope, and for hackers you need to record and upload video proof and with how much effort that takes.. not worth it.

So why exactly does the report function even exist if people have to go to unreasonable lengths to prove someone is a troll/sabotaging games/going afk, etc. ?

Why waste even more of our time with a nonfunctioning report system ? Now it feels like I'm getting trolled by the devs in addition to the players in my game....

    Good lord

You can thank the players flooding the report section with pointless/useless reports on a player that didn't break any of the dbd rules.

So the actual reports against players that actually broke the rules are drowned out by useless reports.

Just hitting the report button in game and nothing else? No.

Hitting the report button in game and then sending a recording of the match as proof they broke game rules in an additional player report support ticket? Maybe.
