The abundance of Self-Care in matches
Is it only my experience that I have had nearly at least one person running self-care in their matches? Even more than one, more often than not (I have been strictly solo-queueing since the update went live).
And they aren't running COH, Botany Knowledge, Medkits, Desperate Measures, and any other perk related to healing, with it. Just self-care alone.
Also, before the update I solo queue'd maybe 90% of the time and very, very rarely had come across anyone using self-care in my matches... So, I don't know if maybe I am getting paired with people on the newer side (I have over 2000 hours, I'm not top tier skill level but I have been lasting in chases pretty decently and feel like my overall game knowledge and decision making isn't that bad), or maybe people thought that it got buffed, and not nerfed, wanting to try it out? Maybe assuming that someone else is bringing COH? Or people just returning to the game after such a long period of time, from a time where self-care was top tier? Maybe people just don't really understand the wording of the perk: "Unlocks the ability to heal yourself without a healing item at 35% the normal healing speed" and thinking, "oh, it gives me the ability to heal myself and gives me an extra 35% healing bonus!" which is most definitely not the case.
I don't know, but watching someone self-caring across the map with no med-kit on hand, while on hook, often being left on hook to hit stage 2 and even sometimes dying due to that. I'm trying not to be dramatic, I promise lmao. I have screenshots of end-game results and I am seriously considering doing statistics. Like the ones people do where they record how many different killers they play against, record all the perks used, for 'x' amount of matches for example. But doing that for self-care.
So yeah - my question is, is anybody experiencing this - at least one person running self-care in a decent amount of your matches?

I had a claudette yesterday self care against a blight that was using sloppy. She didn’t have botany or anything, just self care.

I haven't seen anyone using self care in the matches I've played. Not since the event, anyway.

You all must have been dead by the time she was finished.

She wasn’t finished, she died. But we were also all dead with still 4gens left.

I've also noticed people running it still. Maybe word just hasn't gotten out to the playerbase at large yet...
Though, to be fair, I saw a fair amount of Self-Care in my survivor matches before. Hard to say if it's actually increased or if I'm just noticing it more now.

People are still trying new builds and testing perk changes. The PTB wasnt accessible to people on console so most of this is new to alot of people. Ive even seen some people on social media say they weren't even aware that perk changes were happening, so i imagine a lot of casual players don't even look up DBD news etc and are just finding out as they play.
I've considered trying Self Care with Bite the Bullet - not to do a full heal because that's a waste, but just if I'm injured at a crucial stage and the killer comes past I can shut myself up until they leave. But I don't want to waste a perk slot on such a terrible perk lol

That's 100% true - I will say I didn't see (except 2 instances) where there was a Resilience + Self-Care combo, forgot to mention that in my post as well

One of the times for me was similar - someone new in my match, or I am assuming. There was a teammate who was Claudette, whose only perk was Self-Care Tier 1. We were against a Pinhead with SH: Gift of Pain - I don't blame her what-so-ever, she was new. Felt sorry for her - she probably was wondering why the healing in this game took too long

I see CoH every single game. Haven't seen Self-Care even once.

Omg I've never thought about that. Imagine being brand new to the game (which is already a pretty jolting experience), choosing Claudette, and thinking you can heal yourself in a timely manner? That must be wild.

Omg that poor girl. I wanna give her a hug and tell her its all ok, this game can be fun :D
But really, playing Killer I still see the same old, same old all the time: people smack me at a short loop with a palette and while I am pondering if I try to go around or crack the darn thing they kneel down to self heal. And I am "oro? What mad sorcery is this?".
