Feel free to work on generators
I'm consistantly getting 4 gens done by myself in soloQ survivor games. If anyone could just do one gen we could potentially escape. I'm not even using tool boxes. Everyone dies with 1 gen left, every game I've played tonight.
The extra 10 seconds isn't that big of a deal. My build has been Lithe, Windows of Opportunity, Boon: Circle of Healing and Alert. Nothing spectacular. We don't really need 3 people to run the killer every game.
I'm even unhooking and healing people while I get 4 gens done. Even against Nurse. I need your help with gens. Thank you.

Question: how do you think you're being given that time to do said gens?
Because what this sounds like to me and what I hate to see in my games when I play survivor is myself and one or two other survivors are on death hook taking turns in chase and there's some survivor urban evading around the map (sometimes doing gens, most of the time not) who hasn't taken aggro yet and needs to take their turn in chase so someone else has a chance to do gens.
Trust me, I hate when my teammates don't do gens as well but if you're doing 4 gens solo, then someone or multiple someone's are buying you hella time

No. I do bones, loop, unhook and heal. I'm not sitting on gens for 78 years
9 -
Gen times were increased and everyone stacking slowdowns you barely get any blood points for doing gensโฆ
Dying because I only did gens and getting like 8k bp aint worth it.
6 -
If it's like some of my games, the killer is looking all around for urban-evasion survivors and not finding me when he comes close to my generator. (The mighty power of Claudette)
Yet I do 2 or 3 generators all by myself. (And then I get caught, hooked, unhooked at the worst possible time and die.
Thankfully these kind of games have become more rare.
2 -
Alert only costs 1 perk slot and gives you the killer's location every time they break a pallet or kick a gen, but it doesn't work if the killer is undetectable.
For 2 perk slots, you can keep tabs on the killer regardless of undetecable: Any Means Necessary and Rookie Spirit. Plus, you can reset pallets if left alone.
2 -
Oh I'm unhooking and getting hit and getting hooked. I'm not leaving people on the hook to die. I'm willing to rotate, but literally nobody has done a single gen in any of the games I've been in, besides myself.
2 -
All 3 of you do that. Yeehaw!
2 -
Then it isn't worth escaping. At least I now know that some people have no intention of escaping.
0 -
I thanks for the build ideas!
0 -
Are you escaping a lot? Because Iโm rarely escaping even when Iโm trying my hardest.
2 -
Not tonight. Last night I escaped in half of the games I played and I was doing 3-4 gens per match. I had a few games where everyone escaped through the gates, but there were definitely games where I was the only one to escape through hatch woth 1-2 gens left. The feeling I got when we all escaped made me think its possible to do more often, even in soloQ.
1 -
Could it be that thats why you lose? Naaaaaah
5 -
Yea for me I donโt see hatch escapes as actual escapes since itโs a matter of luck and not an indication on how the match went in general.
Gates escapes for me have been like 1 out of 10.

If you want to try builds, OTR and Lucky break are looking good.
Sprint Burst and Lithe too (although SB needs to be used properly)
Look into Hope, Lightweight, Quick & Quiet, Dance with me for vanishing (some combination)
Look into BT, Breakout, WGLF to help others.
Someone suggested SB, Fixated an Lightweight but I've not tried myself yet.
(It was part of another thread)

I'll admit I do feel like I've been doing the bulk of gens in most of my games as survivor since the patch. I think a lot of survivors have just given up on even trying to do gens, then complain they don't escape anymore :p
3 -
I had 5 gate escapes last night. Only 1 of those with all 4 survivors escaping and 1 game where I was the only one escaping. The other escapes varied with 2-3 survivors escaping. Out of 10-12 games.

I will play around wirh those perks. Thanks! I played around with OTR last night. I was also having fun with Overcome.

I love so many survivors mentality, people complain about dying but then wont bother doing the gens.
By the looks of it people will make up as many excuses as they can, fact is you shouldn't escape if your team arent doing gens and so many people are massively over reacting to 10extra seconds.
But it's always been the way of DBD getting 1 or more players not doing the main objective, its dumb but that's DBD... ignore the main objective, complain x is OP

I was playing around with Bond, Empathy and Kindred last night and half the time nobody was touching gens. Thats why I started focusing on gens and my games became more promising when it came to escapes. It felt good.

I didn't try Overcome. The need to get hit once to get some benefit without much control over the timing seems less than ideal. I fear it would not hold against a Nurse, whereas zooming away before a hit may deter her from chasing and make her switch target. Although ... it would trigger with Lucky Break ... mmmh. It may be better than I imagine.

I started thinking about my own reaction to the new patch. I was ready to take a long break. SoloQ was rough. I kept reading and reacting on the forum and that inspired me to login to dbd last night. I'm glad that I did. Tonight hasn't been as spectacular though. Lol

It definitely has shortcomings. As it won't help after you're hit unless you heal. So it's kind of a one use perk per chase, in a way. I usually do Lithe with Windows of Opportunity. The upside of Overcome, in relation to what I usually run, is that it frees up a perk slot, for me, and it also activates right when I need it to without any requirements other than being hit.

New gens means solo queue teammates can't be absolutely useless anymore and follow the killer all game/stealth. People upset need to realize that you actually have to do the objective now to win what a surprise. Solo queue teammates do so many things wrong and with the new gen/slowdown times you can't carry their dead weight.

Ngl I don't mind losing as long as I have fun. And doing gens for 78 years is not fun. I would rather get tunneled xd

Survivors are a special breed.
Most of my killer games that have ended in 4Ks, if I'm being honest only happen due to one or more survivors just giving up.
For example, I TP right to a survivor as Dredge with Lethal Pursuer, they're down in <30s. After they get unhooked they decided to AFK, obviously they're refusing to play against a Dredge becaue he's soooo OP.
The rest of the game goes pretty well, but the other 3 survivors still manage to get 4 gens repaired. Imagine how much better they would have done with a fourth team mate!
In the end I left AFK Feng alive with her crows, she moved periodically so I know she's still checking in. I decide to give her hatch to "kill em with kindness", she DCs literally as I drop her on the hatch.
I would have given one of the other survivors the hatch instead but they all refused to heal her, so they were no better.
Funny thing is, I have several stories just like this since the update.
Survivors and their pettiness are what is making survivor so unbearable to play.

Gasoline generators produce very high CO and CO2ย emissions and are bad for our environment. Unless the entity offers alternative energy sources such as wind turbines, I will refuse to do gens.
4 -
Oh my gosh. You make a very valid point. We should be cleaning off solar panels and repairing windmills. No wonder the community is so divided right now. It's almost as if we are burning coal.
Considering the fact that BeeHiveEeyore is about representation, why are they making us repair outdated technology that is harmful to the environment?
We need a Green DBD campaign to change these noxious generators to something more environmentally friendly.
They should also add the option to hug trees to distract the entity. It would also be cool if they proved that we aren't doing any environmental damage by adding animals to the game.
If we could get them to create a little person survivor, we could also try to get them to create 7 Dwarves skins. Then they could make a Snow White skin for a new survivor who can communicate with the animals in the game and get them to fix windmills and clean solar panels.
These are the things that this game deseperately needs.
Like, where's the blind survivor with a cane, already? I would also love to see an elderly survivor who uses a walker. Everyone knows how long we've been asking for baby survivors, as well.
Fix the game! Listen to the community!
We want a Santa's Village map with presents! We want Disney characters! We want a Green New Deal!

Yeah, 78 years is a long time. I'm not sure why they only take me 90 seconds. My game must be glitched.
3 -
I'm beginning to agree that survivors do sabotage themselves. Especially in soloQ.
2 -
And then: "Killers are so buffed, I can't escape, getting killed in 9 matches out of 10"
Do gens and escape. Bored out? Then don't be surprised on killers 4k.
4 -
90 seconds if the killer doesn't have thana, pain resonance, and dying light and then tunnels one person out of the game instantly. All 3 hooks on a scourge hook.
2 -
You are the hero we need but not the one we deserve.
1 -
That equals 78 years? I'm bad at maths.
2 -
No you are. โโค
0 -
Why spend 2+ minutes doing a gen for 1,250 BP when I could rush to the unhook for 1,500? Gens barely compensate you for how boring it is. It's no wonder Survivors are just running into the Killer. It's more fun and they get more points doing it.
(P.S. I actually do gens, but this is how Survivors think, and I can't even blame them.)
2 -
Why play survivor for bp's when you can get more bp's playing killer? I hear what you're saying though.
1 -
I'm trying but the killer won't let me.
1 -
Nah bro, Im not touching gens unless I kick it as Killer for the 4k at 4+Gens streak
0 -
Bump. I solo myself and other solos I play with usually get it done.
Only SWFs don't do gens, take their time to attempt to bully the killer and not do anything at all.
Needs to be a better report system to report teammates that only want to bully killer and not do the objective.
2 -
I only just found out about this... I've been wondering why I've consistently been the lowest scoring survivor on my team even though I don't feel like I'm being useless because I do most of our gen progress. I guess this is why. ๐
3 -
It doesn't make a lot of sense, huh? Do the objective and get the least amount of bp. Even if you're unhooking, being chased and healing teammates on top of it.
2 -
If you're doing both of those you most certainly aren't doing 4 gens on your own.
0 -
Just do 2 gens alone if no other gens are being done, then it's not worth it just do whatever your teammates are doing.
2 -
But I have been. The games are lasting forever now.
Luckily I've been getting in games today with other people who do gens.
A lot of killers seem to one hit me and give up in chases. So I've definitely been getting lucky in that regard, more often than not.
0 -
Then don't expect to get unhooked in any of my matches because I don't help other players who don't focus on the main objective.
2 -
The fact you can do all those gens means other survivors are buying you time, if they don't do gens is probably because they are running the killer for you, I remember I ran a killer before the patch for 4 gens and one dude came to flame at end game chat because he didn't see me complete a gen.... you are getting free gens because other players allow you too, only problem I have is with people going AFK or rage quitting on first hook...
1 -
I never said the opposite of what you just said. They don't need to get chased to death, but they seemingky choose to. Every time I would heal them they'd go looking for the killer again.
Lucily the gameplay has improved in the games I've been getting put into since that night. Other people are doing gens and 3-4 survivors have been escaping consistantly.
0 -
Bruh I was joking xd
1 -
You absolutely should give "Deja Vu" a try, it's quite decent since the rework. It gives you a repairspeed bonus of 5% (!) on any revealed generator now, I've used this to do over half of the gens on RPD by myself last night. It was pretty damn useful.
1 -
This is why I would love to see what every teammate did for how long at the end of the game. Sometimes you see a teammate not having much points and you think all they did was hiding when in fact they tried to do gens. (I also sometimes feel I was useless, cause i have less points, but then I remember I actually sticked on a gen)
