The White Elephant in the room, chat censor filter
Can we have an option to remove it? I could write entire books with words that are censored by the worst language filter i've ever seen that shouldn't. Really, even if you want to say something nice on game chat, you cannot. Because it censors ANYTHING. Especially if it's on Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, pretty much any language that isn't English. And it also censors pretty much half of the English words, so might as well either remove the chat or remove the filter. I remember once getting censored by typing an in-game character's name, common words, verbs, literally everything.

And it does nothing to reduce toxicity. If they really wanted to fix this problem they just wouldn't have an end game chat. But it exists, so you might as well let people say what's on their mind. We're adults.

My favorite thing is having a word censored, typing it out again out of disbelief, and it's not censored the second time.

Not anything on their mind, a few words can and SHOULD be turned off. But BHVR has enough variety on their team to know what those words would be in a LOT of languages. The current one is simply... there...
Something that always made me wonder, why put language filters on games that are like 16+, whatever kid that's playing this kind of game should be "protected" from swearing by their parents, not random internet people.

I honestly think the chat censor is the worst thing not related to gameplay right now. The only thing it does is making the communication harder for everyone, but specially for anyone trying to speak a language other than english.

Some big streamers like Otzdarva and Tru3ta1ent have shown "gg" being censored and turning into # # lately.

The entire chat filter is an absolute joke, what an arrogant company to force it on people and not even give them the option to opt out. Oh and also it's a joke, they even censor words used in their own game, it's not even comical funny it's just cringe.

The censor is useless, I was watching an Otz video I think and he was playing cheat game mode (swf with friends) and the person he was cheating with (his swf partner) couldn't say GG as it was censored but Otzdarva (the cheater) could say GG just fine.

A lot of Spanish words are censored... you can't even compliment the killer

I mean, there’s a reason for it to exist, what with slurs being far too common of a thing, still.
However, the fact that it censors profanity when the game itself uses said profanity fairly liberally in flavour texts, tome stories, even one of Ash’s spoken voicelines, is just hypocrisy.

What I don't get is that it firstly doesn't even seem consistent. Just yesterday I saw someone type "tbag", which I've seen censored before. I'm pretty sure I've seen it blank out an entire sentence before. I've also seen a post game chat where one person got censored when typing "Rancor", while another person could type it no problem???
And I also wish it was just a good old blacklist of words people really shouldn't say in the first place, just blank out the entire sentence when that happens. That way you know when you see it, they actually said something reportable.
And of course, I'd like to see it customizable and/or optional. I really like Steam's own integrated system that is used in games like TF2. Has presets like slurs only, slurs + profanity and no censor, and a custom blacklist where people can put any words they don't want to see and they get censored too. Player choice like that is always good if you ask me.

I hate the fact the chat filter censor words that are PART OF THE GAME.
Other day I tried saying I thought the survivors had Slippery Meat after 3 self unhooks... the word "slippery" got censored for some reason. You can't even say your perks' names now.

Yeah, usually it censors survivor and killer names as well
I don't understand how something that works THIS bad is good for the game
I'd prefer 100 times to see the actual slurs and for players who spit them out to be banned over this crap

While the chat censor could use some fine tuning, it will stay because some people cannot control their urge to spew slurs.
