the 'survivors throwing because of dead hard nerf' narrative?
hi all,
ive seen a lot of stuff on this forum about survivors throwing games because of the changes to dead hard, in hopes of artificially inflating kill rates to try and have some changes reverted. is this actually happening? i understand that survivor is harder now (especially solo queue as ive found) but are people really just throwing games to try and get BVHR's attention? is that why barely any gens are getting done in the games ive played in the past few days since the update?

No, it isn't happening.
I've seen a lot of survivors dcing and suiciding in my games, but it's not because of "dead hard nerf". That's just an excuse people use while ignoring all the other basekit buffs killers got.

Experienced Survivors throw because they'd rather interact with the killer.
Bad players throw by making bad decisions.
Rage quitters throw by giving up.
This is how it's always been and probably how it always will be.
No one is throwing to "inflate the kill rates"

I give up because I refuse to sit on a gen for ages against a legion with gift of pain, thana, dying light and pentimento.
As has already been said multiple times on this forum, the fun parts (looping) of the game got shortened, the boring parts (gens) now take longer. I load into a match expecting some interaction with my teammates and the killer, not to play M1 simulator.

all of this. I don’t ignore the dcing or one hooking self but boy killers LOVE having 4 slowdowns with all the changes.

Some have said theyre throwing to "send a message" to artificially inflate the kill rates. Is it enough people to make a difference? Probably not.
But there were a ton of survivors just giving up the few days after the patch (it seems to have decreased today), probably not an orchestrated boycott, just a load of survivors struggling to adapt to the changes and getting frustrsted.

Survivors aren't throwing to inflate kill rates. That's like saying killers were throwing to inflate escape rates.
A tome just opened up, survivors have always put their challenge ahead of gens. This is felt more now because all the killer buffs make just one survivor not focusing on match hurt survivors more.
Survivors giving up when a killer is running a full slow down/regression build (especially on specific killers) or camping/tunneling just makes them feel like the match is a lost cause so just move on to the next as fast as possible. This was an issue before the patch, the patch buffed these so you see more camping/tunneling and slowdown/regression load outs which in turn has survivors giving up more often.
The DH change isn't the issue, even before the change all the survivors said they would just use SB or Overcome or some other exhaustion perk instead - which they have done. The only ones making a big deal about DH are the killer mains that were so obsessed with it BEFORE the patch that they ignore the multiple buffs killers actually got just focus on thinking it's DH when the things making survivors give up have nothing to do with DH.
Survivors complained alot about Legion with slowdowns BEFORE the patch. This buffed and made more miserable by increasing gen times and buffing slowdown/regression perks.
Survivors complained about killers camping/tunneling BEFORE the patch. Not only was it buffed thanks to increase gen times that total are 50 seconds (almost a full hook state) while hook times stayed the same but the only buff survivors got that could've helped, basekit BT, doesn't actually last long enough to get a survivor out of the basement or to a loop - especially since they buffed the killers cooldown after successful hit and nerfed the distance survivors get after a hit.
There has been an increase in Prove Thy Self because survivors ARE trying to get gens done. I've seen multiple people already bring up seeing it more often, even some killers already calling for it to be nerfed. I've seen a noticeable difference in my matches when no one is running Prove Thy Self and when one player runs it to the point I've added it to my load out. While it doesn't guarantee 5 gens will be completed I've had more matches where 3+ gens are completed now that I've started running it because it's the only thing to counter the increased gen times and gen slowdowns/regressions.

Pretty much my thoughts.
Ive added prove thyself to my build mainly for the bloodpoints but also I’ve noticed that gens get done when I bring it.
Ultimately I’ve just been stuck on gen speed perks like overzealous and prove thyself with a stacked toolbox to make the games feel fun. That’s all the changes have made it much more preferable to just hammer gens as quickly as possible,

I'd bring Overzealous but the amount of killers running Pentimento right now to increase slow downs I'm not cleansing totems unless I have to. I've run Blastmine since it came out, now I use it to indicate which gen I'm on so survivors can either hop on with me to make use of Prove Thy Self or they can run over to finish it if I'm chased off.
I've considered running toolboxes and putting on Built to Last so I can get more use out of it. May do it because I'm a jinx so when I run a locker perk killer will be running Iron Maiden and when I bring item killer runs Franklin's so atleast that'll be 2 perks that aren't slow downs. 😂

Where exactly did you see anyone pointing at the DH nerf? There is not even literally no thread that mentiones that in any way. Youre not the first one mentioning that, and its just a lie.
