Will Brand New Part ever be fixed?
This has been bugged for several months now, hasn't it? Not sure when it started happening, not even sure I've seen devs acknowledge this bug's existence.
Edit: succeeding the second skill check does not give you any progress. There have been many reports on the bug but I haven't seen anyone ever confirm that it's being looked at.

if you are talking about the gen not giving you the option to L2 just drop the toolbox then pick it back up and it will work correctly

Or is it not giving full progression... Cause I think players have reported it
Also... they probably working on a fix for it right now.... we'll find out soon enough

I think this was fixed in the last patch.
From the patch notes:
>Fixed an issue that may cause succeeding a Brand New Part skill check not to give generator repair progress.
