Malicious Iridescent Emblems are the worst...
Just want to vent ... I really don't like tome challenges that force you to get x-number of emblems, but getting the Malicious Iridescent ones is pure torture. After many countless tries I went for a Legion Thana/Sloppy build and it kinda worked, but I am still not finished and get a lot of games were Malicious is all filled up but a tiny, tiny bit and the mocking notion "-6 injuries healed" or something.
This one is so busted! And I don't actually force people through the Thana-Legion right now, but I am kinda out of other options. Oh, and its on the last page of my killer challenges, I am quite done with them, but I have literally no other options then to do this darn challenge. Thanks for listening.

I see tome challenges criticized frequently (I've complained myself many times) and tbh I'm not sure the devs even pay any attention to the feedback.

There are some challenges that are like little quests and that force you to do something extraordinary, like Aces Journey "Repair two gens, savely unhook two survivors, cleanse two totems". Its much harder then it sounds, because you need to be in the right spot for the unhooks and be repairing gens, too, while keeping an eye out for totems to cleanse. But it is an interesting challenge. Or hitting two survivors with one of Plagues Vomits. This are somewhat interesting challenges, even though they might make you lose a game or two they are interesting and often force you to play with perks or characters you normally woudln't, which is a good thing.
But most of the grindy challenges are pretty boring, ie do x-ammount of y. Destroying 50 palettes or kicking 50 gens isn't exactly fun, but its passively done and works in the background. And then there are this "collect x-ammount of iridescent emblems", which force you to play in a very specific way, but are still not really under your control and can be very frustrating. In order to get a Malicious iri emblem you have to hook a lot and interrupt/damage the survivor a lot, but you will get docked points if they heal! So even a small heal at the wrong time can kick you out of iridescent into the golden range, even though you totally dominated the match, and this feels not challengeing, but pretty frustrating.

I think Malicious emblem was easy to get with fast down killers, far from Legion.
Try Trickster, I completed that challenge with him.

I'm trying to do the open hatch with a key tome challenge right now. It's pure pain. Literally changed my name in hopes some killer understands that the tome challenge is near impossible to do in normal gameplay.
I also was having a lot of problems getting an unhook during EGC. Simple enough, but literally my games would either go where we all die before EGC or no one ever gets hooked in a game.
These tomes can be pretty annoying and specific. Sometimes the stars have to align or when the stars do align, you didnt have the challenge selected.

I did the Hatch challenge last month or two ago , here is how I did it:
I ran Left Behind, Bond, Open Handed and Ace in the Hole and started the trial with no items as to not tip the killer off.
This build helps you survive via the big info the extended range Bond gives you, and Ace in the hole gives you a pretty good chance to find a key that can open hatches during the trial. If you find one you must play it pretty save, but still engage, obviously, or your team gets eaten alive with just a pseude 3v1.
With the massive range of Open Handed Left Behind you can pretty much bee-line for the hatch if you hear no terror radius, and then hide somewhere close to wait for the killer. Eventually they will find the hatch and head for the exit gates. Wait for a few seconds, then open the hatch and jump to your freedom.

Hmm, could work, too. My line of thinking was that people don't wanna heal vs a Legion because you so easily get wounded again, but I didn't think that through ^^ Thana obviously will wanna let survivors heal, thats the kicker why Thana Legion is so hated.

You see, the main problem I have is I am very altruistic and generally get involved with chase a lot, so it's very hard for me to sort of throw the game for my team to get it done.
I've had a string of unfortunate games with killers who just want the 4k or they down me and give hatch to a teammate.
Your build is interesting, I assume you meant plunderer's instead of ace in the hole. I've been running Adrenaline, Left Behind, Distortion, and Sole Survivor. I don't really want to rely on opening chests anymore because that would be a total throw for not even a high chance of getting a key. New patch doesn't give enough time to search chests in my opinion.
