BHVR, Will You be buffing Score Events?

So there's something I'm concerned about and that I'm hoping is on the radar of the developers, but will there be any chance you guys buff the Score Events system in some capacity?

It's currently rather tough for Survivors to earn 40,000 Bloodpoints on their side, and technically impossible for Killers to be able to earn 40,000 on their side due to the Sacrifice Category.

  • To further elaborate, under best case scenario circumstances, playing The Executioner should net the most amount of earnable Bloodpoints in a match as Killer, with 39,600 Bloodpoints, since he can hook people and then use Final Judgement once they're on third hook and tormented.
  • The only circumstance that would allow for the Killer to be able to earn all 40,000 Bloodpoints is if they individually hook every single Survivor three times during the Endgame Collapse, which in and of itself is probably impossible to achieve.

I'm hoping that this is something that you guys are looking into, and if currently not, please look into this.

True. Augmenting the totals is nice but if it's impossible to get to it, it's ultimately pointless.

Survivors especially can't get max points since the points are shared among all survivors that do certain actions (not every survivor can heal every survivor, chase the whole match, do all gens etc.)

You would be surprised by how many points you can get in a regular match. I was actually tracking my scores the other night and a lot of my matches I was escaping with over 30k bloodpoints, and this was without me running Prove thyself.

Once you are able to get a certain amount of skill at survivor, maxing out certain categories isn't too difficult to do on a regular basis.

They also upped the amount of bp you get from escaping. Instead of 5k you get 7k now, so that's kind of a huge difference. Just my opinion though.

You aren't supposed to be getting 40k points each match, you weren't getting 32k games before usually either. But now I'm usually getting at least an extra 2k bp that I would be missing out on before. That's the point of augmenting the categories, to get more points in the category you're forced to do.

Oh, I'm definitely not anticipating getting an easy 40k bps, or even 30k bps a match.

I started playing only a couple of months ago, so I'm still very green, and rarely get more than 13k if I die. Post-update, with all the tunneling and the fact that I'm almost always the weakest link and first to die, I'm lucky if I get 8k bloodpoints. I can't do totems for points anymore without dragging the team down either, so that's a loss as well.

Grinding as a survivor is an utter pain for me right now, and even though I know I won't get better without playing, it's very unrewarding (and frankly a bit discouraging) at the moment.

Yeah, that's understandable. I can totally get the sentiment. I feel really bad for people who get tunnelled out or camped because they literally get nothing for being on hook. Sometimes being the sacrifice can help the team, so they should definitely implement a system where you get points for the time that people finish gens when you're on hook.

I'm sorry it feels discouraging at the moment to play. It definitely is a rough game for beginners and anyone who has not many hours. I do suggest sometimes spectating others that were really good in chase where you can learn what they do. I know I did that when I first started playing the game and it helped a little bit for me to understand what I should have done against that killer.

I also hate that now you aren't able to cleanse totems anymore. Its practically impossible to cleanse totems and still be efficient. Too much of a time sink in most matches now.

Meh survivors BP gains are abysmal, sometimes you only do one thing the whole match gens or getting chased, so you max objective or boldness quickly and then you play for nothing, killers can win points in 4 categories just by playing normally

They've known Survival has been an absolute garbage category for years, they've even taken baby steps toward trying to give more ways to increase it. But it still needs a lot of work, and more "universally" and less "killer dependent." Same with brutality and deviousness being at odds with each other on some killers. Solo gens are also quite bad, with the coop rate being closer to what normal points should be (maybe a little bit lower than that, but it should be capped by the end of a 3rd gen)

I think survivor is pretty fine earning bp. But on killer to get over 35K bp you have to pretty much farm with survivors to do that.

Not necessarily, I think it's moreso killer dependent. Some killers you can max out categories pretty easily because of their power. You just need to get the separate hook states on everyone mainly to get that category high.

Personally I think the scoring events are okay for each side. The only was they could improve QoL is give more points to people who got camped or tunnelled out.

I hadn't thought about it before, but do killers gain more points by hooking a survivor twice or is it pretty much the same as letting the survivor go from first to second hook ?

I often run Hex : Third Seal and a lot of survivors go on second hook from their teammates having forgotten where the hook is. (People talk a lot about Devour Hope and (old) Ruin as Hag's best perks, but Third Seal is utter chaos)

Not even close in my opinion. Usually I can screw around, get 8 hooks and let everyone go and still beat almost everyone in base BP earned. I can probably count on one hand the times I've 4k'd and a survivor still beat me in base BP.

You get 500 points per hook. So if you camp the hook and get a 4k, you're walking away with 2k sacrifice points. If you get a 12 hook game, you're walking away with 6k sacrifice points (Plus stuff like the Caught! score event, Entity summoned stuff like that, but we're talking specifically in terms of hooking).

They won't do that, because they don't actually want people to get BP any faster. That would disrupt the precious 'economy'. Increasing the limit was just a red herring move to make it look like they're doing something, to head off all those pointing out the grind wasn't really meaningfully reduced.

Alright ! Might want to use that perk a bit less then. Thanks !

But what if it is Dwight with manager's vest and flashlight? Doesn't he deserve to be camped out with no points? hehe

They earn more if you farm. But anyway I was not talking about that in my opinion survivors earnings are pretty fine compared to killer it's possible to maximise every category and devs increased some earnings on survivor for this patch. But killers can't earn 10K in sacrifice category and that needs to be changed. One hook should be 700 bp and the caught bonus 300. And it's still hard to maximise other categories you have to slug a lot. So small increase on every earning should be done.

It was increased almost by half based on alone that BBQ bp bonus was removed. Also now you have to get characters to level 100 to be done with the grind.
