Backpacking with Scratched Mirror Meyers

I think I found my new favorite Meyers build. 😄

Backpacking with Scratched Mirror Meyers

  • Agitation (fast carrying speed)
  • Mad Grit (free attacks during carries)
  • Forced Penance (survivors are Broken after bodyblocks)
  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (regression on hook)
  • Scratched Mirror add-on (Permanent Evil 1 Undetectability and aura reading)
  • Boyfriend's Memo add-on (Evil 1 lunge range is increased 50%)

With this build I play Scratched Mirror Meyers like normal - sneak around, ambush people, etc. The difference from a typical one is once you down someone you just immediately pick them up and carry them straight toward a Scourge Hook in the general direction of where the other survivors are. It's pretty funny because with Agitation you're moving faster while carrying someone than you do normally as Scratched Mirror (108.5% survivor speed while carrying versus 105% speed when you're not) so it's easier to catch up to them during a carry. Plus you maintain your Undetectability during the carry, and the other survivors don't see the carried survivor's aura either, so if you take advantage of line of sight blockers they still may not even see you coming despite carrying around a thrashing person on your shoulders! 😂

And even if they do see you carrying someone, at least initially nobody expects Scratched Mirror Meyers to be using a Backpack build. It's an easy way to get some free hits or even downs on the first carry or two and inflict Broken status as well since Forced Penance triggers if you hit while you are carrying someone. And worst case you can scare them off gens if they spot you and run in time.


As a variant, you could replace Pain Resonance with a bunch of other things, as long as you're confident you can maintain pressure and not worry too much about the regression. If you stick with the Backpack theme, Iron Grasp would let you carry people and potentially chase even farther distances. Scourge Hook Gift of Pain or Monstrous Shrine could work, as could Jolt. Or you could go for No Way Out or NOED if you wanted to add some endgame oomph.

Also I know a lot of people worry about running Scratched Mirror on outdoor maps, but honestly even outdoor maps have a ton of line of sight blockers that you can use to line up ambushes. I've 4kd with Scratched Mirror on all sorts of maps, you don't have to run it on just something like Lery's or The Game to get it to work. (Just tonight I got a 4k on Ironworks for instance.)

Anyway if you enjoy playing Scratched Mirror Meyers like I do but haven't tried a Backpack version give it a shot, it's pretty hilarious! 🙂
