Prove thyself counter

Being a main killer I have to say that the staggering amount of people using the prove thyself perk increased by 100%. Between 1 to 2 survivors use this perk in every match I've played. What perk do you use to counter that perk already mentioned? Discordance is the best option? Greetings to all of you!

Its being used so much in response to slowdown perk buffs. Specifically thana- to counteract it. You're seeing it for a reason. But yeah, Discordance would be your counter to keep it from getting max effect. Personally I don't run thana when I play killer so I run discordance instead. Surveillance builds combined with a regression perk like jolt too has given me some love. Depends how you like to play.

    Goodluck 😋

Merciless storm may be a decent counter, especially if you use it with discordance on Nemesis. I believe the skill checks activate for everyone participating in gen repairs so you're 2x/3x/4x more likely to get value. The discordance will alert any nearby zombies.

To be honest I think people are just running it for objective points since the cap is 10000 now

    Vicious cycle honestly

A lot of people are running thana/other passive slowdowns

So a lot of people use prove thyself

    and the same in reverse

Discordance is an S tier info perk right now though, I've had it go off basically every game I've used it. Before this patch, I'd sometimes have games where it never went off once

A yes, as I thought. Soon killer mains will start to complain about "this is not happening". It's 30% bigger skill checks and gens get done faster by 2sec. Please nerf.

Really It's just new meta. Chases are faster so survivors need to do gens faster. Wait 5 years for bhvr to change this meta. Where is nothing else worth running. Heal builds are killed with botony and self care nerfs. Chase builds are killed. You can slap on lithe but it's no dead heart. What else are survivors supposed to run? Meme builds? They get boring fast too.

Well with more slowdown comes more need to speed the gens up.

I don't mind that it's become more popular because... It was ALWAYS popular. It was always meta.

I personally don't think Merciless Storm is that much of a counter, having encountered several killers with this perk while running Prove Thyself these past few days.

Merciless Storm skillchecks do appear for everyone, but only for the duration needed to finish the gen. Which means that if several people are on it, especially with Prove Thyself, the least amount of skillcheck each survivor will get.

And I find that the skillchecks aren't that hard, it's just the fact that they are continuously present for 9 seconds (when you're alone on the gen) that gets hard. You're bound to mess up at some point, especially if you hear the killer coming or someone is downed or if there is any form of pressure.

But the more people on the gen, the shorter that time will be (I didn't calc it, but maybe 5 seconds if all 4 are on the gen, maybe even less if one has Prove Thyself). And it's a bit easier for 4 people to be focused for 5 seconds than for one to keep concentration for 9 seconds.

Bottom line is, I've failed many Merciless Storm skillchecks when alone (I swear, on the last pixel of the completion bar), but when I'm with at least one other player we generally don't blow up the gen because we don't have to be hyperfocused for as long.

Guys, the op made this post because they are wondering what the best counter to a meta perk is. They did not give a single hint of bashing PTS. I know you are lost without DH but your agitation is not warranted here.

Yeah the objective points, not the 37.5 second gens if it's a 3 stack. No no no, that would be crazy to even consider.

You counter Prove Thyself by running Discordance and Thanatophobia just in case. Thanatophobia is a pretty good counter if you have 3 people injured because it completely removes any possible speed benefits from Prove Thyself.

You CAN use Pain Res, Jolt, Call of Brine to help you out with gen regression and I personally enjoy these because they're not too hard on Survivors especially when you don't combine all 3 but ideally you should just resort to using Thanatophobia and Discordance so that they get punished no matter what they do.

Discordance is the best counter directly but it's not really the best perk, because any Survivor can still SOLO a gen and then you're out of luck.

Why do you find it useless in the late game? When you’ve got only 1 or 2 gens left is when survivors are typically working together as there’s less gens left to split up on.

I think they mean if there are less survivors alive it's less efficient ?

This person isn't here to complain but ask for advice on how to beat it.

They are someone who are trying to be better before asking for nerfs.

Maybe read what is said instead of what you want and you'll find that a lot of "insert main here complain about everything" is all in your head
