whats the point in the game giving me the notification to pull a pallet if it doesnt work?
Soo besides survivor being awful atm- I feel like the servers are soo killer sided. always get weird strange hits with no actual fall animation and just instantly on the floor.. i don't even have bad ping either.

Hit registration is done on the killer's side, if killer is lagging and still sees you in front of them, it'll hit, even if you're on the other side of the Atlantic by then.

This needs changing :(

If ping is bad enough (>300ms) then it becomes validated by the server instead.
Otherwise no, it doesn't need changing. It's a fundamental feature of the game that hits need to be handled on the killer end. Otherwise it would be impossible to hit anything reliably. As a survivor, you just need to allow an additional meter or two of distance to avoid hits, but if the hits weren't registered on the killer side, then killers would need to be able to see a couple seconds into the future in order to predict where a survivor will be and land their hits.

so you're basically saying that survivors need to see into the future too, why would I throw a pallet early when I know 100% that I shouldn't be hit on the next way around but the game poops you over. its quite frustrating. im sure their is more accurate ways.. like Fortnite has 100 ppl in their lobbies and is more accurate...

You don't need to see into the future at all. You know the killer to coming towards you, what else are they going to do? Walk away from you?
The killer has one way to go, towards the survivor. The survivors has any number of directions that can go in.
You just need to react sooner as a survivor. Killer wouldn't have that ability if the hits weren't validated on the killer side, they would literally need to be able to see into the future.

Did you really just say that the killer only has one way to go (towards the survivor) and survivors have any number of directions they can go? Lmfao. Every heard of a mind game? Killers go the opposite way on loops all the time lmfao. Survivors also have to go one way lol away from the killer.

If you're far enough away to mindgame then you're not at risk of getting hit. We're talking a margin of error of about a second, if less.

I mean Iv seen killers catch up up to me on a loop when they shouldn’t have- mainly by seeing them rubber band towards me. 😬

Because that is how you properly play survivor. You do not camp a pallet. You hold W. You will keep getting punished for your mistake until you learn. Predrop it. Always. If you can get away with not predropping it, you did not need it anyways. That killer is clearly inexperienced.

Iv played 3 years now- Iv just noticed that pallets that should drop and stop the killer don’t- they end up on the same side as me… I’m usually pretty good at predicting when to drop a pallet.

I didn't say pallets were. I didn't talk about dead hard. I said (regular) hit registration was done from the killer's side, which it is. There is only server validation if the lag is more than 300ms.

Normal hits would need validation because if the killer is laggy and still sees the survivor in front of them within reach, the hit will be registered even if the survivor's hitbox is no longer in reach on the survivor's side. That way, lags are to the killer's advantage. I understand why they are not validated, but it remains mildly annoying.
Such hits at pallets can happen, in some cases even after the survivor is on the other side of the pallet and pulled it down, because on killer's side it appears as though survivor isn't yet.
I am not an expert though, so I can't and won't delve into the details. There are pretty thorough analysis on hit registration available in the forums though if you're interested.
