Thanataphobia is now STRICTLY a Legion and Plague perk, and is WORTHLESS om every other killer
Pain Res and Dead Man Switch is back to avoid survivors dealing with Skillchecks with Merciless Storm
And Mettle of Man was nerfed for some reason
These changes better not go through, y'all. Cause NOBODY will have a good time with or against them.

Well, the changes will absolutely go through, BHVR has a pretty slow turnaround with balance changes after they've touched on a perk more than 2 patches in a row, and I find it very concerning. the mid-chapter gave me the impression that BHVR was finally getting out of their old way of balancing, just nerfing popular things in ways that don't really matter and leaving the meta in basically the same state. These changes just feel weird and unjustified for the most part. Unfortunately

I don't understand why they didn't just limit the duration of Merciless Storm to 10 seconds maximum. If they did this they wouldn't need to revert Pain Res & DMS and Merciless Storm wouldn't be affected by Pain Res, solving both issues. I cannot understand the thought process behind some of the changes these devs make. I was pretty hopeful after the last patch and fairly optimistic that the devs were finally starting to pay attention to the game and listen to players, but this just seems like a really weird step backwards.
Thanatophobia is oppressive on Legion and Plague, so they've made it only viable on Legion and Plague...I just don't understand the logic behind these decisions at all.

Those were knee-jerk Reactions. Something they even said they dont want to do, yet they are doing it.
Like, they wanted to remove the DMS + PR - Combo, yet they brought it back. Instead of changing something on Merciless Storm (like giving it a flat duration like 9 seconds so that you dont end up having 40 Skill Checks).
Same with Thana - instead of doing something with the Perk to not make it oppressive on Legion and Plage, they kept it oppressive, but made it useless for every other Killer.
If I know after 5 minutes of thinking that those things are pretty bad, I have to assume that the Devs did not think at all.

This is what I don't understand. How is it that a couple of players can think of ways to solve these issues in no time at all, yet the devs, who do this as a career, all day every day and are paid a salary to do so, cannot? It's honestly baffling.

They could leave Pain Resonance+Merciless the way they are and it wouldnt really matter, first of all you need the two perks, then you need to down someone, be close to a scourge hook and then a Survivor had to be working in a generator with Merciless Storm activated.
The situation is SO niche they could leave it as is and it would be one of those "Did you now this [Obscure thing] about [Feature]?" trivia things, lets be honest how many times does that happen? and if it does the Survivor can either do the whole thing or just call it quits and let the gen blow to get it blocked for 20 seconds which is even less than DMS.
I believe there is a hidden motive for this change, they noticed gen regression became a huge problem and instead of addressing it they came back to a nerfed DMS where it blocks the gens but it doesnt regress them in a way to entice Killers to drop Overcharge+Brine+Eruption+PR, call me paranoid but I dont understand why they couldnt either fix the interaction or leave it the way it is.

games dead honestly at this point its just fun to laugh at how braindead the devs are they need to just give the game 2 a new studio to save it from the dumpster fire they put it in
