Tunneling question for my fellow killer mains

I want some feedback from my fellow killers

99% of the time I am being accused of tunneling currently, the survivors are SWARMING the hook either as I hook or within a few moments after.

I 100% believe a lot of the tunneling right now is because of the new basekit borrowed time. I am seeing it every game.

I did a game as ash just now and every single unhook was done before the death slinger even got five meters away from the hook.

I think the base kit bt is making survivors way too cocky, or if not cocky they simply think its going to work like regular borrowed time.

Every game I will go to hook someone with another survivor chasing me, i hit that person, do my hook, hit them during the unhook, and what am I supposed to do? Just throw the match and let the unhook person go when I already know they only have five seconds?

How many of you are ACTUALLY tunneling, vs how many are punishing survivors for these terrible plays?

I know I'm a killer main, but queue time has me doing more survivor the last several days and it's very obvious what I'm seeing happening if I'm seeing it on both sides.

I just had two survivors try to body block/sabo while I was being hooked and both of them failed and went down immediately.

The first guy that died, was unhooked when the death slinger had just walked around a corner. I watched the killer leave from my hiding spot so I could get the save with BT and Guardian, and a quentin ran past me and unhooked before the killer had even left. I had to body block for the unhooked guy and it got me killed (I was fine with dying to protect him. Game was over anyway at this point.)

the amount of games I've had as killer where 3-4 survivors stay at the hook the entire match then accuse me of camping is astounding. If all four, or even 3 survivors are in one spot, it is absolutely insane entitlement to expect me to leave. Period.

tl;dr Killer mains- and any survivors who wish to join the discussion- how many unhooks are happening right in front of the killers face/ when they have barely taken ten steps away from the hook?

Base kit BT is encouraging stupid plays. Period.

For some reason i havent been accused of tunneling in a long time.

I've had a large amount of that as well. I used to love offering survivors to farm if they wanted to after I secured my win, you know just if I slug the last two people I know I've won. Theres no point in not letting them get some escape points if I've basically won. But so many matches now I go in planning to do that and they dc or send me salt before the match is over.

But lets also see their point of view. Ive done a ton of survivor since the patch. I love the extra challenge now, survivor felt like easy mode before. I also love the new perks. But after having a survivor throw on my team most games, and killers sweat most games, it does get to the point where you assume the worst.

My swf quit over all this, and I directly disagreed with them in some matches where they said we were being tunneled or camped. Did not go well as a conversation in the group. Sometimes the killer isn't tunneling but the team misplays. It happens.

I think a lot of these accusation are a group mindset. As a killer we simply respond to what the survivors do. Thats it, we just punish them for their mistakes is all. But when four people are together and losing they can feed each others energy and ego. They can be a group mind that rathe their owning their mistakes can all agree to blame the otherside isntead of accepting accountability

Every time I run to a dead zone, mess up a 360, or just misplay in general I audibly call myself out. Every time. Same as killer if I miss a swing or get outplayed at a loop.

But to my original point, I have yet to have even a single match since the update without survivors rushing hooks immediately and screaming camp/tunnel afterwards when they are encouraging the game play.

Last night I was playing doctor and the Jake got unhooked in front of me two times. After his second hook I just kept slugging him and going to hook other people across the map because I didn't think it was fair what his team did. I let him go down two more times just because it was so unfair. But of course I still got called camper/tunneler after the match which really upset me after I was throwing my match to make up for his bad team.

I have the feeling in a lot of games, survivor just expect to lose, and farm as many points as they can.

You said the game was over at that point anyway, so it sounds like Quentin was farming some last minute bp at the expense of his team mate. I see it quite a bit unfortunately

My point is it happened many times in that match and many times in others. Not every single game, but I 100% believe the base kit 5 seconds BT is making a lot of players act as though they can perform the same risky plays regular borrowed time allows without realizing it directly encourages the killer to tunnel. There is absolutely no reason not to do so. It's an emergency mechanic not an assured safe unhook.

Twitch players are coin flips. Heads they're cool, tails they're toxic idiots who scream everything is unfair.

It can be painful when you try and help a survivor from being farmed and people still call you toxic. I often find in my games, if I manage to get down to one survivor, if the team weren't obnoxious, I'll let the last one go.

I've had a few games myself where a swf is farming the solo, so I deliberately let them go if I can. I genuinely try to play fair, and it gets me some lost games. It's a choice and it's mine.
