You guys do know that a game where someone DC’s isint counting towards the stats?

Title. Otz made that tweet as a joke. I don’t know why everybody suddenly thinks that a group of survivors would unironically waste their time constantly DCing to manipulate stats, when they won’t even count towards it. Why would it even count as a kill? I think a lot of people are just in denial about the changes; rather nerf, to SoloQ. Now that the weakest role is even weaker + 90 second gens + horrible teammates = not much motivation to play the game. Survivors DCing is a symptom of the problem and SoloQ has to be buffed to compensate. First it was “learn to loop without DH” and now it’s “Stop DCing to manipulate stats”. What excuse are people gonna come up with this time?

Doesn't make it alright for the people who think the stats are getting inflated to DC and ruin what could've been a normal game

A lot of people do not know that disconnects do not count towards kill rate / escape rate stats. Most players, particularly casual players, do not go out of their way to find out how or why the devs make the decisions they do or what they factor in to their statistics.

Even if they do not count towards stats, devs can still see an increase in disconnects as a statistic in itself. Obviously, this isn't something they want as it ruins the match for everyone. So, I'd imagine if everyone started disconnecting, devs would take a look at why that is, regardless of whether it counts towards kill/escape rates or not.

I don't think the point of disconnecting is to manipulate the stats, I think it's to highlight that survivors aren't happy and want the patch reverted.

Wish more people thought like I this but unfortunately everybody whose said “Stop DCing” say “to inflate the stats” right afterwards.

If this is the case that's stupid and doesn't correctly account for how the games go. You aren't guaranteed to lose if they wouldn't have DC'ed but many times they DC when the game is in a most likely unwinable state. Most of those would have been losses and it sure isn't fun for the other survivors. So to count those as "draws" is completely wrong.

Can someone link me where this was confirmed? I do know that one of the devs said that if you DC your MMR progress is void, but I've never seen an official post that declared a DC voids the MMR gain/loss for everyone in that trial.

But it still shows dc rates against certain mechanics.

So Devs can still recognize what people often dc against.

1) DCs are tracked, just not toward match outcome statistics. They do still see people DC in mass, and can aggregate that data with the rest about the match (killer, swf or not, map, offerings, addons, etc.)

2) Hook suicides DO count, because bhvr has admitted they have no systems in place to differentiate them. They could have taken that opportunity to impliment some if they value the integrity of their internal stats, but something tells me its not a priority.

People leaving games early in tantrums is nothing new in this game, on both sides. The reason it gets cited and complained about more when survivors do it is because they statistically have a higher likelihood per match (1 vs 4 inherent) as well as a faster time to get into the next match (the entire reason the DC penalty was introduced)

It has been a weaponized thing since Legion's release, I personally started around clown's release so can't speak much for before that, but it sure as hell was a boycott at that time, and a lot of people never lost that mindset. or even picked it up since.
