[Reporting] "The upload took too long, connection was lost"
Hello,
Hoping to get advice from a mod if possible.
I'm trying to file a report on a killer who took my game hostage/harassed me the other day, as I have video evidence for once.
The video is from a twitch VOD from the killer, so I cropped to the game where the griefing happened, leaving only a few seconds of the lobby (to show his username matches the ID I want to report), loading into the game, and the part showing his problematic behaviour.
The video is nearly 7 minutes long, and the least heavy format I could export it to with decent quality makes it a 168Mo MP4 file.
However, whenever I try to upload the file on the reporting page, the loading bar flies by until it gets interrupted with a message saying "The upload took too long, connection was lost.". The uploading process never goes longer than a few seconds before being interrupted. (I do not have connection problems at the moment)
I tried to upload a screenshot to see if it was working at all, and the screenshot got uploaded without a problem.
Is the problem coming from the video file being too heavy ?
If so, I don't know how to proceed to upload the video proof. Yet, I do feel that it is necessary. Uploading only screenshots does not translate faithfully all of what happened, and a claim without evidence would not do.
I would appreciate an answer on this matter. Thank you in advance !

just...upload it to youtube?

This is a frequent issue because of the service that's used to file a support ticket. You'll need to upload the video file to a separete website like YouTube- setting the video as unlisted works just fine- and then add in the link to this video within the description of your report.
Flawless, totally not tedious system.

Hey there HugtheHag,
I'm so sorry you had to deal with such behavior in your game. If the video can't be uploaded to the ticket directly, you can upload it to youtube (mark it as unlisted) like kizuati mentioned, and link it where it asks for Description of issue/request on the Support ticket. That'll be more than sufficient to make sure video evidence is attached with the report!
