People be very careful! BAN alert

Today I started to watch Behaviour's Twitch stream, I was very excited. Unforunately, I made a negative remark on Chris' face in a joking manner, and instantly got permanently banned. No timeout, no warning, no explanation. I sent an appeal and apologized, I didn't want to upset or hurt anyone, nor did I think the mods would be so sensitive. The appeal was denied... Once again, no explanation, just silent treatment. And there's nothing I can do about it.

Guys, please be careful about what you write in there. We all went there for some exciting new DBD content, but a lot of us had our comments removed (and I assume a lot more got permanently banned as well). What a great image for your 1st "behaviour Interactive" twitch stream btw.

Don't let this happen to you. I want you guys to have a good experience in behaviour's twitch chat. It's sad that the chat doesn't have any written rules that state that if we write anything in a negative tone that we will get permanently banned, without warning, explanation, or mercy.

Dear mods, if you are reading this, could you please guide me to a place where I can send an appeal over the decision that the Twitch mods made? Unless you are those same mods, in that case you're probably going to delete this post and ban me here too.

I love DBD and I am a paying customer too. I care about this game's future, so it hurts a lot that you treated me like that.

I don't think I need a whole post warning me not to directly insult a dev's physical appearance on the stream.

Please tell me how I can appeal, and I'll be really grateful to you.

How about not insulting people? lmao.

I love how you're warning all these people not to insult others or they may be banned.

Did you read what he wrote? He didn't insult a dev...

"No timeout, no warning, no explanation. I sent an appeal and apologized, I didn't want to upset or hurt anyone, nor did I think the mods would be so sensitive."

I like this. I like this a lot; it shows that you regret the consequences of your actions, but not the action itself. You place the blame upon the stream mods for being "sensitive", not you thinking about how you could come across to a stream mod in a famously toxic chat within a famously toxic community, who are used to expecting the absolute worst of everyone.

My bad, I assumed Chris was the name of an IRL dev on stream, not Chris Redfield (I didn't watch the stream).

There were a lot of hate comments in the stream (DBD community being toxic as usual and only wanting to hear about DBD and not BHVR's other projects) and a LOT of comments were deleted and users probably banned.

My thing is, even if you don't care about the other content they're advertising, what good does it do to go in chat and be like "snooze, nobody cares. Get to DBD already"

They have a set program and they're going to stick to it. Also DBD is not the only thing they care about.

Must have said something really bad to get insta-perma-banned.

If what OP is saying is true and assuming I am understanding correctly, they said something like, "Wow, Ada and Rebecca's faces look so much better than Chris Redfield's face."

Now, I could be wrong. But the scenario that I'm being shown doesn't indicate that. Despite the sort of whiny tone, OP basically just asks everyone to be careful and respectful in chat. That doesn't strike me as someone who put some horrific ######### in chat.

Again, could be wrong though. I guess it doesn't matter as this post breaks the rules about bans.

In which case, sick. The phrase "negative remark" however is hardly what we in the industry call descriptive, and leaves the door wide open for interpretation. From knowing OP made a "negative remark", we can infer nothing specific- they could've gone from "Chris looks like a horse" to some horrific slur. And since OP hasn't clarified on their matter (I checked, couldn't see anything in the comments or an edit to the original post as of yet), we simply cannot know.

But even if they said nothing, my point still stands. They show regret for the consequences but not for the action itself.

What I wrote in the twitch chat was, "Are you fixing Chris' (censored) face"? I've been wanting BHVR to give him a proper face like he has in the remastered model of his RE 5 model. So I was actually expressing how much i want him to look good. The insult (which I censored in here) was a negative adjective that expressed my dissatisfaction with this current model's face. I realize it was completely unnecessary for me to add that adjective. But my intention was not to come to the chat and insult anyone.

Some people were asking about Stranger Things, some were asking about other stuff. I was asking about rework on Chris' face. I want him to look good. My intention was not to spew insults, it was to express my interest in them potentially redoing the face to look good. It was a question about something I cared about. I wanted to know if they're redoing Chris's face, that's all. I got carried away though. I wrote that question with a light, semi-jokingly tone. I wasn't angry or frustrated at the time. The adjective was unfortunate. RIP freedom of speech.

I'd really look up the forum rules whilst you're at it 😅 to prevent something along the same lines from happening here.

Also, a general rule that helps everywhere is if you don't have something nice to say, then just don't say it :) Especially in places where people cannot deduct your 'tone'.

I just posted what I wrote in the chat. I am sorry to the mods if what I wrote seemed like it would negatively influence the chat, but I want my freedom of speech, you know. You know how when people really love something, they'll say "this is f-ing awesome!" ? Imagine getting banned for using the f word in this positive scenario. Surely what I wrote wasn't an excalamation of positivity, it was a genuine question, laced with my dissatisfaction with the issue, albeit written in a semi-light,joking tone. I honestly saw no issue with it at the time of writing it, and I didn't harbour any malicious intentions. I don't regret it, 'cause the intention behind the question was not to hurt or insult anyone. If we are in a regime here that shoots you down for freedom of speech, then fml I guess. Have to keep your mouth zipped or the ban hammer crushes you.

I like how you say we can't know what was said while at the same time assuming they didn't show any regret in the apology that was sent.

This is between OP and the stream moderators. I don't get why unrelated people feel the need to interject themselves and make really weird assumptions about what was or wasn't said.

The problem with what you posted is that it still doesn't help, sadly. The adjective is the key factor here- "Chris' bad looking face" is leagues apart from "Chris' horrific face", which is yet further from dropping the r-slur on it.

If we are in a regime here that shoots you down for freedom of speech, then fml I guess.

What free speech? You are in the chat of a private business, using the service of another private business, before you come to the official Forums of a private business hosted on the service of another private business. You are subject to their TOS and their rules. They are under no obligation to allow you to speak your mind and can do whatever they want with their rules.

Free speech applies to public bodies, not private corporations with their own rules.

I like how you say we can't know what was said while at the same time assuming they didn't show any regret in the apology that was sent.

Because you can infer they don't regret it based upon what they have explicit said. What they did not explicitly say (and still haven't) is what they said, word for word, without anything missing. Therefore, I can conclude no regret was felt for the action based upon what has been said, but cannot conclude what was said based upon what hasn't.

Also, "I honestly saw no issue with it at the time of writing it, and I didn't harbour any malicious intentions. I don't regret it, 'cause the intention behind the question was not to hurt or insult anyone" does help me prove my point quite a bit.

It is weird, but definitely not surprising.

We've seen people on the Forums getting banned for far less than that.

It is not against the rules to criticize the game or anything about the game. They want constructive criticism. You are free to do that on the forum and especially free to do that on twitch chat. They just don’t like criticism on things they do so they ban

I guess I didn't write things out clearly, my bad. I don't regret the question in a semi-joking tone. It didn't have ill intentions. I do feel bad that it seems to have hurt someone, and possibly negatively influenced the community. My intention was not to hurt.

Anyway, I see that you guys agree with the mod's decision, so I guess I deserved what I got. I'm apparently a terrible person who did irrepairable damage to the community by posting that question. And I'm for sure getting banned in here as well, so I hope you guys are happy. Hopefully this helps you not to get banned yourself.

This is my last post in this thread, and probably on the forums too, if I get terminated. Feel free to celebrate.

People take ######### way too seriously. OP I don't think you deserve to be banned. God damn snowflakes.
