Anyone else playing less?
After the BP bonuses AND MM Incentives were removed, I've noticed a downswing in my game time.
I guess I just don't get enough 'fake rewards' for my time investment, currently.
Probably just going to be focusing on tomies for a while, I guess.
Just a weird shift I noticed in my own gameplay habits @_@

Definitely less than I've played in the last 4 years. I think I'm just looking for something with more competitive matchmaking. I win 90+% of my killer games when I know I'd win maybe 50% if I was matched correctly like day 3 of the matchmaking tests. And the challenge on survivor doesn't feel organic. I die more often because of teammates than anything the killer did. I'm a bit bored.

I don't even play the game anymore, so yeah.
14 -
Yes considering the grind literally feels slower without the old bloodpoints perks and matchmaking incentives the game feels boring to play
20 -
Oh definitely. As killer I just feel bad more often than not, that is when the queue time is doable 😅 and playing soloq is just...no. I'm tired of teammates giving up within the first minute/2 of the game. Surprised you're still doing tomes, GL with them!
When Project W is on, I might hop back on, cus WESKER 💘

Playing Evolve Stage 2.
So less for sure.

Definitely. I've been playing DBD for almost 5 years and have taken plenty of breaks here and there, but this year I've played less than usual. DBD reminds me of that South Park episode where they're addicted to the game where they chase the purple dragon... you can never win, it's just the same thing over and over.
In the last 3 weeks I got the platinum trophies for Astro Bot, Crash Bandicoot 1, Stray and Returnal! Better achievements than sitting on a gen imo.

Ive been playing less lately. Not really for any new issues though. The game has always had great potential for frustration, and some days that frustration doesnt feel worth it.
Theres also the fact that I play on PC, and also work on a computer all day. Sometimes after working on a computer all day, I dont want to go home just to get on a computer again.

It feels like BHVR gave me a yearly game limit. The anniversary event is the only time of the year where I can make enough bloodpoints to stock up on addons. The newest bloodweb change still isn't enough for me to maintain my stock of good addons.

Letting the dust settle over here as well.
Low mmr survivor feels discouraging since the update, and the matchmaking has been hectic as well (I have 100h on the game, maybe 70 as survivor, but I'm being put against 3k hours killers ? No thankie!).
I've been catching up on my steam sales hoard, and I imagine I'll be spending some time on Hooked on You in the next few weeks. For.... reasons...
I'll still play occasionally when my friend is online, but other than that I don't expect to play that often until matchmaking incentives come back. I'll probably be working by then, which is a shame because I won't have as much time to put into the game, but as the French say, life do be like that sometimes.

I've been playing a lot more actually (I played soooo much during the event, and because of the quick queue times, a ton of of surv since the patch dropped), but I think I'm coming up on a burnout cycle, probably gonna take a break and start chipping away at my backlog soon.
2 -
My mental health/anger problems get worse after playing killer. I'm gonna play again when Wesker releases.
5 -
I played a lot during the event, and when we had double shards, but right how it feels super slow to unlock anything + I'm not that passionate about any of the stuff to unlock. The rift only has one outfit I sort of like, and it feels like too much work to get it.
Also, if I'm being totally honest, I'm glad they're trying to rebalance the game, but I kind of don't want to have to re-memorize what all of the perks do all at once.
6 -
with the worse grind ever yes I play a lot less now.
3 -
Yep. I'm just not enjoying the game anymore. I might eventually come back if they fix survivor (mostly solo).
14 -
Yes 6.1 made me reinstall Apex and LoL, waiting for that solo Q buff in 2024
12 -
Yeah, it can do that, it's def more stressful than surv. Back in early 2021 I had to wear a heart monitor for a few days, and when I was reviewing the results with the doctor, they noticed the my heart rate was significantly elevated during time periods when I was playing killer a lot. I play late at night and the doc asked if it was...certain common nighttime activities, but I just laughed because I knew exactly what it was.
It's actually what got me playing a lot more survivor.
Like you, I am also going to step back a bit until Wesker drops.
5 -
Played killer a bit after the patch.
Lost almost every game very severely. MMR never appeared to go down to compensate. No BBQ for the "you didn't win, but here's your consolation prize," either. And despite losing constantly, the forum is just filled with survivors complaining about how the killer changes make for a super easy, auto-win every game.
Well, they don't. And until MMR actually does what it's supposed to, any future games would just be more parades of one-sided survivor victory laps.
Haven't felt any particular desire to come back.

Better solo experience, thanks to pings (but built-in voice chat helps too). You don't lose as the killer role because you were playing against three good players and one person holding M1 the entire game who didn't even interact with you.
See above if you want a harder game. Matchmaking fails sometimes but overall the experience is much more enjoyable if you can handle losing and don't expect to get even a single kill every game.

I am. It's just burn out at this point. I'm sticking around to earn back the auric points from the rift and I'm going to, hopefully, expand my gaming horizons and try some new stuff.
6 -
I've stopped playing. Losing the BBQ/WGLF stacks without them becoming basekit is just too much. Playing does not feel rewarding and I was overwhelmingly bored the last few times I even tried.
7 -
A lot less
I'll probably finish the challenges in the new tome level and stop playing until next level is unlocked
And I definitely won't play while there is no Rift active, unless there is an event
5 -
A lot like i dont play at all
3 -
That's really interesting. Dbdtubers should try this.
Don't blame you. It's okay if killers feel powerful but it sucks when matches become completely doomed. There's gotta be changes to have survivors get hope. BHVR may be losing money from this.

Here's an amusing stalky-boi dance video that may amuse some of you.
No relevance to anything.
9 -
I think Dowsey may have done this for a while when he was going through some health stuff, and had his BPM on screen during his streams.
5 -
Eh, the games drag on for way too long in VHS for my liking. Some stuff is really cool, but the mechanical depth on monster just isn't there yet. And like I said, 20-30 minute matches aren't my cup of tea.
4 -
Well thanks for the giggle at least ! X)
1 -
I've been playing a lot less since Hooked on You released.
1 -
I've been playing less because ghostface is my main, and higher MMR just isn't a thing with him unless you're running a chase build. Kind of defeats his whole stalking theme. Better off playing another killer...but I just legit enjoy playing ghostface for his theme. Fun to give survivors some jumpscares at the cost of killer efficiency without sacrificing the match in the process.

Same here, I dont play Survivor anymore and since Killer queues are a drag I play maybe 2 or 3 games at midnight when I dont have to wait around 5 to 8 minutes to start a game, Im not having that much fun either for I 4K or 3K+hatch almost all my games without much effort or input on my side.

Haven't played since last thursday and I don't think I'll be playing soon.
6 -
I'll play again when Wesker is added, but for now I'm playing other games more.
1 -
I have been. I didn't log in at all for like, 2 days. I've been playing VHS more. The idea of being able to kill the killer is much more appealing to me.
3 -
I've played only a few times since the update dropped. I really don't get why they are so stingy with bloodpoints. You could double everyone's bloodpoints and the grind would still be nuts. It just doesn't make any sense at all. Someone on reddit did the math and found that you'd have to play 729 games at 44k bloodpoints per game just to unlock the bloody cosmetics on the new resident evil characters. Think about how insane that is for a minute. Nobody wants to play this game for 16 hours a day just to unlock a few cosmetics. I hope more people realize how terrible the grind is once the recent hype dies down.

I’ve been playing less because of the lack of BP bonuses from BBQ and WGLF. Most of my matches have been fine (killer and solo q survivor), but no matter how good the match is, I get depressed afterwards when I see that I earned half the bloodpoints that I used to.
5 -
A lot less. Almost everyone I used to play SWF's with has left the game. Solo queue is an absolute mess and the opposite of what I would consider fun.
6 -
This is the first time that i feel no incentive to grind to rank one, the game isnt fun for me anymore. ive been playing Rocket League, Pubg and now Multiverses. These games dont make me feel like crap when i play em...
5 -
Yes. But I do go through periods where my interest wanes a bit. I think I'm still burnt out from the anniversary event. We got spoilt with bp so it kind of sucks playing for peanuts in comparison lol
3 -
A bit yeah. For me the amount of bp gain is kinda making not want to play cause it's so depressing to look at.
3 -
This is what happens when you cater to one side and leave the other side with nothing. Anyone with any intellectual competence could have seen the last update and said hold up, there’s a potential problem here but not behaviour. If i have played 20 matches since the update dropped I’d venture to say 7/8 of those were legions. And every one of them had thano. This isn’t the diversity they were aiming for if I had to guess. Lastly don’t get your hopes up they will attempt to fix this blunder for at minimum a year since their main concern is to drop new killers and outfits for revenue. I have 0 confidence they can fix the game at this point
13 -
I'm out after a couple of games. I spend more time on the forums than on the game itself.
15 -
PUBG got hot with the Blackpink concert :3
3 -
I haven't played in 5-6 months
3 -
I sure am playing significantly less. Solo survivor is misery and killer is long queue followed by easy stomp.
9 -
Taking breaks from the game is a good thing. I have taken 3 breaks over the years and it made it better when I came back.
1 -
Yeah I'm literally just focused on tomes at this point as survivor. I gave up after 6.1 and just run games for challenges now.
Killer on the other hand is so much fun rn.
1 -
Yup.
I dunno man, DBD is just having its own ride of its own and I decided to take a break from most of it. Tbh, my mental health has been much better so I'm grateful.
5 -
I've stopped playing for the moment. Solo queue is too frustrating, killer queues are too long, and bloodpoints are too low.
7 -
Yes, I even uninstalled the game now. At first I didn't mind the changes at all, sometimes I had even good games and great teammates. Unfortunately I am a very altruistic gamer and this means I am climbing down the MMR hell pretty fast and then I didn't seem to be able to win even one game anymore, cause of tunneling, people giving up or an immediate dc. Guess it is my own fault for playing that way, but I rather see my teammates escape than me, BUT... sometimes it would be nice to make it too.
I also will never forget this toxic DS who thought it's funny to waste my time by carrying me around and acting like he'd give me the hatch. He couldn't find the damn hatch and I grew really tired of being carried around. In the end he found it, dropped me and closed it. I got finally hooked and he just nodded at me. Guess he was angry cause I was the only one doing gens lol I feel like there is more toxic ######### going on now and I am just fed up.

I've been playing more as a survivor main since the update, game feels alot better now its been slightly balanced
