I think role BP bonuses are one of the biggest band-aid fixes in DBD history.

Then the issue are the changes, not the ability to suicide on hook. Removing the option to suicide/higher punishes for DC may just drop players even more.
Soloq should be buffed. That is the real issue. End of story.
1 -
SoloQ does need, and always has needed, some quality of life enhancements.
But the recent patch didn't do nearly as much damage as some survivors are whining about. It is still more than playable, if survivors would actually play it. But unfortunately it just takes one sore loser (of which there is an abundance) to bring the game down for the rest of the team.
1 -
It should still happen. People will suicide much less when soloq buffs arrive. Removing suicides is, I hate to say it, a bandaid fix to the issue.

What's wrong with band aids?
0 -
Apparently nothing, considering the most recent patch was nothing but band aids. Thanatophobia and Pain Res changes rushed out without any thought, of and Spine Chill's accessibility tool that makes to a hard counter to all stealth killers.
0 -
Wait what with spine chill? I thought I could finally play all seeing wraith without Survivors magically knowing I was behind around the corner...
What happened?
0 -
They added a proximity sensor to Spine Chill, that activates with TR, but they also left in the 36 meter activation feature that ignores TR. So whether you're facing them or not, detectable or not, as long as you're within 36m, they know.
0 -
Holy crap, what? So now they have a radar? Why must they do this to me....?
0 -
Getting unhooked unfairly/at the wrong time was also an issue. Do we have to get rid of that also?
0 -
This, exactly.
Solo needs help, but is only marginally worse than it was pre-patch (I've played a couple hundred solo matches since the patch, easy, so I'm not talking out my arse here). Some people act like the DBD world started spinning in the opposite direction with the patch or something, it's ridiculous.
4 -
The fact that the killer role gets more bp is because they're alone up against 4 other people.
With the new patch/meta shake up, they are pissed because they don't want to adjust to the meta.
In most prior patches the killer was pulling the short end of the stick and always needed to adjust to the new updates.
Did they wanted to do this?
No ofcourse not.
Were they told to?
Yup most definitely.
Did they do it?
Yes they had to.
So, no there is nothing wrong with killer getting more bp that the survivors.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sorry i just find this very funny and I'm not trying to be mean, toxic or condescending or anything.
But i always played solo ever from day 1.
And yes i know not everyone might have the same skill level, but survivor was for me a way to chill.
I could let the others do all the objectives and let the killer chase me without even being able to catch me and still escape.
Not saying i was never caught cause it does happen, but very very rarely did i die in a match.
I always challenged myself by running no mither.
Many people will say that is throwing the match as a solo q player, but is it really throwing the match if you escape with all gens done?
Trust me when i say that at the beginning it will be difficult, but eventually you will start to make better reads and decisions and your looping will increase.
So long story short, as a solo survivor it was always extremely easy for me.
1 -
And there is nothing wrong with having an opinion, but most of the player base disagrees with you. And, something being easy doesn't make it the power role. Someone had to carry you to get you through that exit gate, if you aren't contributing that doesn't make you the power role just because you can grief your team.
0 -
I duobt you do 3 gens usually smart killers tunnel you out when they realise you are the one slamming gens.
1 -
The part were i said i could easily getting chased by the killer and let the other 3 do the gens, was an example.
Not something I'm doing every game, what i am doing every game is a part of everything.
Chased, gens, unhook, heal, taking hits, totems, picking up downed survivors, you name it i will do everything i can for the team.
And yes that even means sacrificing myself to get the rest of the team out.
I have to disagree with you on the fact that if survivor is so easy that they aren't the power role.
For years it was up to the survivors whether or not the killer would win or not.
That is what you call a power role, and pretty much the higher MMR and just a bit above the average survivor is where this was happening.
For years (and to this day) at low MMR the killer was/is the power role, that will never change no matter how much you will change, unless you give the survivors 4 health state ls before being downed.
I must say that i find it funny that without knowing me and how i played, calling it grieving my team.
I've never been and never had to be carried, kike i said, i know how to hold my own in a match and help my team out every way that is needed.
It's a matter in reading the situation and adapt to it, but you can thing of it what you want 😉😂
Many of the playerbase that disagree are the crybabies who refuse to adapt to changes.
Do i say that i agree with all of the changes?
No i don't agree with everything.
But many were crying here on the forums even before the patch was dropped, these are the same people who were killing themselves on hook or DC every time as soon as the patch dropped.
Which is a shame because they ruin it for the rest of the community and some even jump on the bandwagon because they think it's the truth before even try and form their own opinion.
Just to be clear, I'm not saying everyone is doing that, but there are many people here in the community that are like that.

You are glossing over the part where your team still has to do gens, solo survivor is and never will be the power role. You physically cannot be a power role if you rely on other people to win.
Post edited by EQWashu on1 -
this made me laugh sorry.......Such entitlement....your more the problem than a camping tunneling killer....What an attitude does not care about his team just about himself but expects others most likely to ensure his fun and wins because he refuses to actually learn to adapt, do you actually believe things will always stay the same in games? Are you that naive?
3 -
How am I a problem when I have been playing killer since day 5 of the patch when I hit grade 1 survivor? I make twice the points as killer, I don't pull my hair out, and I have free time to browse the internet while I sit in que. Anyone playing solo survivor right now is a masochist.
0 -
The game is fine if survivors are decent but for more casual survivors the killer buffs are bit too much if the killer their facing is decent or tunnel and camps. Well decent killer wins because he is more skilled so that is fine but tunneling and camping needs to be looked at and survivors need something to help out. I do notice thought now that my survivor team wins usually when the killer is below our skill level. Actual close matches are usually killers favour now because camping and tunneling. So now my teams either destroy killer and he gets 2-3 hooks or killers wins 3-4K. My teams have only won close matches when killer has played fairly or made crusial mistakes. Now just had weird match where we again stomped killer but he started to camp and we did all gens but he got one out just then with camping and somehow got another down then my teammate went for mindless save and killer grapped her and dropped and chased me away from gate. I think we really should got 3 man out but killer somehow managed to turn it 3K.
1 -
So this is even worse for you - You still haven't acknowledged, and DON'T want to realise that these bonuses are MANDATORY TO MAKE THE GRIND BEARABLE!!!!!!!!
1 -
🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I think you are missing the point, trolling or simply just refusing the truth.
You are 1 of 4 survivors vs 1 killer.
You are 1 player of a TEAM of 4 vs 1 solo person (the killer)
Your team (whether all 4 solos or some sort of swf) are the power role as a collective.
Yes when you are getting chased, you cannot do gens, heal, unhook, totems or whatsoever.
That doesn't mean you are not the power role my friend.
4 solo survivors can still all escape and do as good as a 4 man swf.
You are judging this game as a 1v1 while it is a 1v4, that is what is wrong with many and why you refuse to see the obvious.
1 -
I'm a little worried about internals of BHVR honestly, all the weird spine chill implementation , strange OTR change with DS nerfs and now this...

I'm literally shocked and disgusted by how toxic you are towards the community. The grind reduction BS has been mathematically debunked multiple times using calculations and even excel spreadsheets. You don't even need f'ing spreadsheets to notice that your "grind reduction" reduces the grind for veteran players. New players are screwed up more than ever. I don't even feel like playing a single match since the amount of BP I get (~38k per game) is absolutely trash. I would have to farm for over 28 hours to get ONE character to P3 and REMEMBER!!!! We have to prestige p0-p3 every character one after another in order to make the most of the new sick system.
I'm done.

Calm down there Karen, stones in glass houses.
0 -
I think it was a silly idea and is quite unnecessary.
0 -
When you say you will sit and choose which games you play out is that to say you just DC if you dislike the game if i am mistaken i apologize if i misread the meaning behind that comment
2 -
Not sure how Mandys response to you was so toxic and easily disgusted you!!! ..... She explained quite well and respectfully that there was other ways of earning bloodpoints. Seems your the one misreading or reading too much into it, or simply just having a temper tantrum because your not getting your way....

Only DBD's community can twist a point incentive into something bad. I guess all the other games with similar incentives are bad as well?
1 -
This is not the case at all. Played all day today and only had 2 matches where survivors gave up. Killer mains are the biggest crybabies I've ever seen and are just afraid that the devs will see how killer sided this game is for soloq. Survivors were never the power role in soloq and the game was pretty balance for solo before this update. If you couldn't get kills before then you just sucked as killer plain and simple.
0 -
😂🤣 I get plenty of good teammates. People are just fed up with the crybaby killers getting there way all the time. I could care less if you take my opinion seriously. You must have sucked as a killer if you couldn't get kills before the update. If that's hard for you to stomach that's on you. Sucks to suck is suppose. Try not to get so upset over a post it really shows your maturity level kid.
0 -
Ok kid, my skill level is too low. The point of my post is that out of all the matches I've played today only 2 survivors quit the game. You are saying that survivors are quitting most of the games you play. If your MMR is so high and your skill lvl is so good then why you are running into people that are quitting ever match you play. What does that say about your skill level? Only survivors that quit games are the ones that are not the that great at the game yet. I mean you are gonna talk about my skill level when you are the one dealing with quitters. Sounds like someone needs to get better at the game so you aren't running into quitters all the time. 😂🤣
0 -
Ok keep playing with your low MMR and running into all the new and bad players.
0 -
How is your comment relevant in the topic??
You've opened an idiom dictionary and posted the first you've found on the list or sth?
And I'm no karen kiddo.

Nothing Mandy has said is toxic.
You meanwhile ranting, swearing and insulting the devs with every breath, is the definition of toxic.
Your entitled "serve me or else" demeanor is also very much Karen.
0 -
the community including myself tried for weeks to explain in very peaceful manner that changes to progressing system are bad and BHVR did not responded to us in any meaningful way. They keep lying or are mislead by I don't know what.
The frustration is just too high...
2 -
If there are way more people playing one side than the other, then it shows there is an issue with your game itself.
No it doesn't. It's a normal and inevitable occurrence in a 4v1 asymmetrical game.
1 -
BHVR's stance here, trying to go back on what they clearly said, is gaslighting and toxic.
2 -
No it's not. It's nitpicking and trying to 'catch people out on a technicality'.
They didn't introduce the MMI as a replacement for BBQ/WGLF. The fact that one increases BP gained while the other reduces BP gained doesn't mean they were planned in tandem, they don't fulfil the same role, one was an incentive to run certain perks, the other is an incentive to play a certain role, they just happen to have occurred in the same patch. That's literally all Mandy has said.
Accusing people of 'gaslighting' when they're stating their intentions is toxic, and ironically gaslighting itself.
1 -
The myriad of excuses given by consumers in this thread are exactly how things get to this sorry state in the first place. The developers are NOT your friends and you have no reason to be running defense for them against legitimate criticism from people who actually want value and less BS out of the product they're paying for.
0 -
There we go. "bootlicker" "shill" "white knight".
No, it's called not being unreasonable.
Why don't you take a step back, and look at who is hurling the insults around here? Hint: it's not Mandy.
You can criticize BHVR all you like, they've made a lot of questionable decisions lately, and the 'grind reduction' is definitely "2 steps forwards 1 step back", but at least try and find a way to do it without resorting to childish insults. If you can't criticize with civility, then your criticisms will be completely dismissed, you're ultimately playing yourself and making your side look like the guilty party.
And make sure you know exactly what you're talking about when using the term 'gaslighting'. If there's something you're missing, you can end up being the one gaslighting.

After the kneejerk reactions thing I just can't take BHVR tagged responses seriously anymore. It's like gaslighting lol
0 -
why can't the dev make the bonus from BBQ and WGLF basekit? I mean the grind is not that much less.
1 -
The Matchmaking Incentives may not have been planned as replacements to Barbecue & Chili and We're Gonna Live Forever, but that's nonetheless exactly what they are, by simple virtue of the fact that one method of reliably gaining additional bloodpoints was disabled the very same day a new method of reliably gaining bloodpoints was implemented.
That's why I take issue with Mandy's claim that one isn't a replacement for the other. The way they went about it makes them so whether the devs meant for it or not.
1 -
I just want to dissect your game review.
Your team was stomping the killer right from the start. Killer was playing fairly.
Killer getting stomped decided to camp someone out.
All gens done and somehow killer downed someone.
Teammate made a bad decision and got punished for it.
But you blame camping a tunneling?
Y'all were trashing the killer. Killer resorted to guaranteeing a kill which was probably the right play.
Somehow he downed someone else, meaning killer most likely won a chase? It was end game.
Instead of leaving with 2, your teammate tried to trade and got punished for it.
Your team turned a 1-2k into a 3k.
2 -
the grind is not less at all. These bonuses should be basekit + we should get incentives. Then we would have true grind reduction everyone is asking for.
3 -
yea pretty much I mean I had all survivors and killers p3 and now I have to grind to 100? like bs.
0 -
By that token you must suck as survivor if you're having trouble to survive even in this patch. And if you're not, then why are you crying about the patch?
See, it's easy to dismiss people's arguments so you don't have to actually address them.
0 -
What's bad is giving incentives ostensibly as compensation for the removal of BP perks and then removing said incentives AND the BP perks.
0 -
We're talking about regular players and new ones. The amount of grind newbies are coming across is extremely discouraging and they give up the game instantly they realise it.
3 -
I spit on my screen laughing at "survivors have been in the power role for 6 years". Definitely the thoughts of someone who never played solo q.
