Hacking is such a severe problem.
Since this latest patch, I've watched both Tru3 and Hexy get constantly sniped by hackers. They've had dozens over their past 4-5 streams, are being held hostage and are then punished with a DC timer when they disconnect. They're not the only streamers too, it seems like Lilith and many others are also being targeted by hackers.
I myself have ran into a few subtle cheaters too, using illegitimate flashlight blinds and subtle speed hacks. Hacking is such a severe problem and needs to be addressed. Turn off the DC penalties or actually implement server-side checks that can detect cheaters better.

The game is in a bad state when you have to hack to have fun.
This is the issue and what the hackers are most likely trying to demonstrate. DC penalty should be disabled for everyone, not a "privileged" few.

Turning off DC penalties across the board always causes major problems which is why they’re probably trying to be selective in it. They know Fog Whisperers are a group that’s being specifically targeted by hackers, and also it’s very easy for the game to recognize an account as belonging to a Fog Whisperer, so it’s pretty straightforward to have the game simply not apply DC penalties to that type of account. Hypothetically they could manually manufacture a separate white list of specific player accounts that include popular streamers who aren’t Fog Whisperers but who are also impacted by being held hostage, but that is a more complicated and longer process so even if it’s a good idea it might take time to implement.
The fact is though the great majority of players don’t need DC penalties turned off. Most people rarely see hackers if ever let alone get held hostage by one, so they’re maybe once in a blue moon going to get a five minute penalty. But turning off DC penalties entirely does have a significant negative impact on lots of matches across the board so that would be a solution that could be worse for many people than the problem it’s trying to solve.
Of course ultimately the best solution is put something in place to force matches to end no matter what after a certain amount of time. But in the meantime allowing the Fog Whisperers DC amnesty and maybe setting up a white list for particularly impacted other streamers seems like a reasonable way to go.

The evidence is overwhelming. They sit in queues for an insane amount of time only to get hackers. They are the only ones that can raise MMR. They seem to be targeting killer mains.

It was nothing like it is now. If survivor wasn't in such a horrendous spot, why is everyone stopped playing it? And those that are ends with no hope of a win?

Heard about a screenshot circulating that came from FW discord, where their accounts have been given 'special benefits', ie they can D/C out of matches without any penalty. Only FWs.
But screw 99% of the playerbase, huh?
