Cool new prestige system

So I never prestiged any of my killers and would only grind them at the final bloodweb. Before the update I was playing a lot of pinhead and during the anniversary i racked up a ton of bp and spent a ton of it only on his bw. After the update the prestige level for my pinhead was 1. I knew that I put in far more bp for pinhead so i literally calculated it by adding up all the cost of the perks, addons and offerings and it came up to around 9 million bloodpoints, not counting the addons and offerings I've already used. Is this for real, they don't track how much bp goes into your killers or survivors? They can't tell how many bp went into a killer or survivor? What a scam...

Is it really a scam if you weren't prestiging anyway, you expected free prestige levels despite not prestiging, the benefit is you can now prestige and not lose anything, in this instance I don't think you were scammed.

wdym, they had prestige rewards, I don't understand why you needed to meet a certain threshold of 70 perks to be rewarded at all, it doesn't make much sense to me when 9 million would be around p6? My only killer that made that 70 perk reward was trapper, who was accommodated as I expected. so, what, this means if you've unlocked 69 perks you just remain at p1?

I also didn't mean I was scammed, it just felt a little underwhelming when I launched the game after the update, and all my killers were below p1. I was under the impression that i was going to be accommodated better.

The amount of bloodpoints you spent on a given character is irrelevant. How much prestige you got post-6.0 was based on how tiers worth of perks you unlocked and whether or not you'd Prestiged at all beforehand. If you only unlocked so many perks/tiers and never prestiged, you were never going to go too far in Prestiges.

Upside, any teachables you unlocked remain unlocked, and are now given to every character you own (if they didn't already have them) in Tier 1 and will appear in bloodwebs in Tier 2, minimum.

It's like what I'm saying completely goes over your head, I'm saying why would the bp I spent be irrelevant, why wouldn't i just be awarded the prestige for the killers I sunk the effort into.

Because that's not how they decided to do it.

Plus, you were awarded the prestige for Killers you sunk effort into. If you sunk enough effort into them that you had whatever-the-number-of-perk-tiers-required-was, you got rewarded.

Think to yourself for a second what you think my issue is. Idk why I punish myself by using the dbd forums...

The issue, as I see it, is you feel you didn't get the reward you feel you were due for the work you put into your characters. That doesn't change that you got exactly the reward you were told you would

Were you not buying perks with that 9 million bloodpoints at all? Before the patch, that many BP would get you from level 1 to level 50, plus about 150 additional level 50 bloodwebs. Unless you were completely ignoring buying perks you should have had every perk at tier 3 long before spending 9 million, which should have given you P5 after the update.
