Back to awful games - miserable experience as Solo Q survivor part 3000
I opened the game today, thinking I was going to play a good amount of matches... it's Saturday, it's cold, I watched the new "Prey" movie after dinner... what else to do?
5 matches so far. I escaped 2... one thanks to Lucky Break, the 2nd one thanks to a hatch spawning almost right next to me after we had been getting slugged for 10 minutes by a gunslinger.
I go into my fifth match - it's the trickster! It downs the first survivor in the basement, BANG - DC. The 2nd survivor runs into the basement to get caught and suicides on hook. The killer ran to my gen and started chasing me. I got downed. Hooked right next to the temple in Red Forest - the Temple of Purgation. A Meg was in the basement of the temple doing a gen. When the killer hooked me she ran to the back of the temple and waited there, forever. My hook phase was about to go into 2nd and she didn't move, I could see her aura... She hid in a locker. She left the locker when I was at 10% approximately and she screamed (Iron Maiden?) and got the killer on her. I ended up dying there, looking at her aura, while she did nothing.
5 gens left to go.

Survivors biggest enemy: other survivors

2 escapes out of 5 would be welcome in my experience.

I keep saying that soloQ wouldnt be as bad if people learned to stop hiding or dcing constantly.
Most of my matches i see people urban evasion and spine chilling behind something and not being on the gens. Then other half is people raging and quitting after first down leaving other teammates to struggle.

I'm bringing Situational Awareness to get other survivors to help me repair... no one comes, and I see them running nearby haha

I played 6 solo queue games after a 2 week break and I'm still having a hard time enjoying myself.
Game 1: Dread played casually on Autohaven but my teammates dropped like flies. No enjoyment whatsoever.
Game 2: Casual Huntress on Cow Shed. I had one single fun chase before I traded a basement hook and my teammates let me die. The worst player taunted the killer in post game after she got the 4k (epic blood warden karma)
Game 3: Trapper once again playing casually and on Azeroth's resting place. Claudette and Meg are the reason we lost. I took heat off of Meg and instead of saving Dwight she goes to self care in a corner.
Game 4: Farming Ghost Face. He just wanted to get his tome. At least I got mine done too.
Game 5: Camping Oni on Memorial Institute. I was running an unhooking build and he just happened to take me out of the game first.
Game 6: Casual Huntress on Dead Dog. The killer was really bad so the incompetence of my teammates didn't really matter. No offense to the killer. Also Quentin wouldn't drop the flash bang when I told him to and I'm so tired of that happening.
I've been having good fun playing other games that aren't DBD recently. IDK if Resident Evil can really bring me back at this rate. My teams are just too awful.

To be fair, if meg had any hatch-finding perk, i would have done the same as her. The truth is only one of you had a chance to get out at that point. You couldnt do a single gen with 4 people, so i doubt you could do 5 with 2. So i would say, dont blame the meg, blame the dc´dude.

The killer wasn't even camping. She could have rescued me easily.

No, it is the killer's fault my teammates are bad.
I actually asked one of them why he was blaming me for his teammates mistakes and he just said the Leon, his friend, was new and asked me if my home life is going okay or if my father left "again." Like, again? What kind of fantasy scenario is this?
Hypothetically daddy left, I was devastated. Mentally broken. But then he came back one day. My happiness restored, I eleven hook and give hatch to the last remaining survivor until that fateful day... He left again. And to retaliate... I tunneled him in DBD? These people should write Hollywood movies, bro.

And would that have helped her escaping?

You're like the Deathslinger but everyone is your dad instead.
1 -
Yeah my father left, because of your friends DC.

You must be kidding. If you want to escape (not farming bp) there is no point to unhook your teammate in 2v1 situations (and with 5 gens left). You should've let it go and given her chance to get hatch

I'm having pretty decent ones.
This morning:
Demogorgon - RCPD
4k - 1 gen left - Would've probably gone better if the Meg who burned the map offering didn't afk half the match. Killer also had monstrous shrine which is a rough map for it. Demo seemed annoyed at me, I was running shadowstep so probably figured I was involved in the offering
Legion - Gideon's
?k - ?gens left - I died first and didn't stick around to see results. The legion tunnelled me off both hooks but then left me slugged to get picked up? Which is nice, I guess
Nemesis - Shelter Woods
4k - 0 gens left - This was the best one. Gave up my shot at hatch/gate since I was playing Jill and he had a mori
So yeah, fun enough, sadly no escapes but also no camping/tunnelling (unless you count the legion but seeing as he didn't follow through I don't really)

If you have Urban gamers in your lobies, your mmr is not high. I don't remember when i saw this perk last time honestly.

MMR not working most of the time so their MMR could be high and theyre still getting new players.

Solo q is bad because survs are trashcan and allergic to kindred AND gens.

i just lost 6 games i a row now because somone decided that suiciding is a better idea than to play :). Totally agree.

Ive seen urban evasion self care package on players with 2000+ hours so i wouldnt say only new players use it.
Mostly my issue in SoloQ is the fact that people use spine chill and run away from gens when it activates and only comes back 2 minutes later when killer has gone by oh and the ragequitters...those are a BIG issue right now.

true I was in a game where me and this feng min were the last two either of us been hooked I finally got downed and hooked all she did was stand near one of the doors drop and pick up her item till I die.at this point I was rooting for the killer who closed hatch and got her.

That's why i always play with friends when playing survivor. I can't rely on other survivors when playing solo. sometimes we get really good solo teams, sometimes we get teams that do self care in the corner of the map with killer using sloppy butcher and thanoatobia.

The game itself is just in a bad state right now....No one wants to play survivor, and the player pool has dropped dramatically. It's nothing but camping and tunneling killers, which isn't a legit strategy or a needed play style with all the buffs to killer. The game is just trash cause of all the entitled killers now, used to be entitled survivors, who actually think camping and tunneling are legit. This game is quickly gonna die unless something drastic happens soon.

Well, that's why i am not playing solo games anymore. If my friends are online, i am playing SWF. If they are not online, killer only.
If you want, we can play together.

I agree tbh I keep reading here that solo Q is perfectly fine but no one is playing surv, if it's fine then go queue for it my dudes I can't even do my killer challenges/dailies right now, more time in queue than in game (EU server)
4 -
I had to stop bringing it because survivors used it to bring the killer to me, even when I was on death hook and they had not been hooked

Same here. My killer queue times are 10+ minutes. So many here say “solo it perfect! It’s great!” But the killer queue times are very long. I don’t believe the people praising SoloQ are playing SoloQ. I suspect they say that because they’re worried if devs see that more people are playing killer & less are playing survivor/SoloQ, they’ll continue to readjust the game (in favor of survivors).

When the killer is halfway around the world, unhooking the other survivor represents no threat.
