Flashlight Bully or not?

Hey there! So I would like to know what yall think about Survivors flashing you not once but 2-3 times in a row. Back to back right when they do it and immediately do it again. I just had this match where someone did this and this honestly probably makes me the most pissed I ever get in a match! I hooked her and just camped her and I never do this but I was so mad so I started hitting her in the hook and I have to tell you dont regret it. Thats how mad I was. She did it throughout the whole match until I got rid of her 😡😡 Im cool with Flashlights and that but this just seems like a douche bag move. Thoughts?

I spam flashlights and blinds. Often times it backfires because it loses me valuable distance. The reward is that I get to use the clicky click noise maker with the flashy lights. Others can flashlight spam, it doesn't bother me. It's technically an interaction with the survivor.

I BM'd this Deathslinger so bad. I chain blinded him raw while clicking so he could keep following me and Neo dodged his shots twice before he just gave up. I would have felt bad if he did not cartoonishly tunnel me earlier because I was not with the 3 man gen rushing SWF. Like, homie got what was coming to him as far as I was concerned. It was my most swag survivor play of all time.

look down or up to avoid being blinded after the first time.

They Camped you with the flashlight so no reason you can't camp hook.

looking up is a better habit than looking down, since you still get flashbanged while looking down.

generally though, you might grow to prefer flashlight squads over gen rush squads. more fun to be had constantly messing around with each other than guys that just wanna gtfo

I only look down when I'm below a structure (coal tower, onis temple), just incase a survivor can blind me from above (no idea if its even possible but im paranoid)

it is bully-like, using flashlingt to taunt and flaunt the killer is a behavior of a mad player trying to instigate feelings of superiority in themselves on safe, braindead loops

Getting chainblinded isn't necessarily BM. They're flaunting their skill and it's a little cocky, but they're also getting BP and extending the chase with little effort. Like mentioned, just look down After getting blinded and this won't happen. Spamming macro clicks is BM, but only people that have played a single frustrating match of killer would know that.

No, it doesn't annoy me at all. I mainly play Bubba and Nemesis and it's fun to just Terminator through pallets with Enduring and Spirit Fury. If I am confident in my gen situation I will take pallet stuns and flashlights all game. If you can eat the pallets and flashlights in early game it means survivors aren't on gens, and they won't have resources for the late-game.

Learn to love the chase. Take it as a learning experience. Winning isn't everything and will actually work against you by putting you into more games with those people.

I agree, looking up also counters crouching basement blinds.

If you want to avoid flashlights permanently as well, you can always prestige Hillbilly to get his perk Lightborn. Not only will the flashlights have no effect on you, you will also see the aura of the person who tried to blind you for a few seconds.

It is best combined with the "looking up to avoid flashlight" thing to make the survivor believe you don't have Lightborn, which will make them try rescues again later and take risks that they would have otherwise avoided.

    It works like a charm.

Could simply have been trying to extend chase, a bit over confident, or a tome challenge to get blinds. Think hook camping/slashing is more bullyish, since you had multiple ways to try and counter these situations, Franklins/Lightborn, looking up/down like others mentioned.

i will agree it tends to get annoying, as long as they don't go and clickly clicky its not bullying, and i recommend running lightborn if u see flashlights in the lobby or franklin's

unless they find it in a chest which in that case just keep bating it until it runs out

If a survivor manages a chain blind, good for them. The killer has ways to counter being chain blinded, so it's not toxic whatsoever for the survivor to do.

The survivor has to usually give up distance in hopes that the chain blind will work and confuse the killer to extend chase, which is the job of the survivor. If they were using a macro or clicking after they dropped a pallet and tbagged you, then you can take it as a BM, but a chain blind is nowhere near a BM. It gives survivors points to blind and there are multiple tome challenges that require blinding the killer.

For all you know, you just BM a survivor who needed to get blinds for the tome challenge and didn't mean ill intent. They could have meant ill intent, but not all survivors are trying to bully you.

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, shame on me.

Fool me three times, shame on both of us.

To be honest, I feel like if someone flashlighted you three times in succession, then they kinda earned it. That shouldn't really be a regular occurrence and tbh I struggle getting the first lol.

I will say though, if someone baits a killer, I fully expect the killer to tunnel, camp, and enjoy removing that player from the game. I feel like they deserve it.
