Why do people not wait
If a teammate is injured and in no where near the exit gate why do you not wait for them or simple enough 99 the exit gate if they go down open it and then go rescue them why do people just open and leave not waiting for a teammate who is injured to get to them or to make sure their healed.

I rarely saw this prior to the update, but see it more often since. Teamwork has really been suffering lately, it sucks

sometimes if its just me and someone and the other guy is getting chased ill leave asap for them to get hatch same with if it me and my mate in a duo at gate with someone chased and were both on death hook or something. me personally if i know someone isnt gonna save it makes me more annoyed that they stay when i could get hatch

It's best to 99 a gate and help your team mates out. However, there are some situations where maybe the Killer is heading right for them and they open and get chased out.
Another thing that happens, unfortunately, is that over the course of the year, the game developers have appeared to be actively discouraging altruism. When it comes to their broken "Skill based matchmaking system", the hope of your MMR rising for Solo Q is to get better team mates. BHVR in their infinite wisdom (/s) made it so only escapes matter to raise your MMR. So you can be useless all game, hide behind a rock and locker hop while your team plays an epic game, you escape and that counts as a win for you. Your team mates who played far better and got you out but died would see their MMR go down, granting them worse team mates.
Sometimes people are just selfish and want to get their daily or tome challenge done.
Thirdly, for whatever reason, BHVR nerfed a lot of "second chance perks", as well as deactivating them after the fifth gen has been powered. People who would go for a high risk endgame save, or run out to help a team mate if only two were left, are less inclined to try since the perks that might help them to have a chance to escape too are useless.

Because they are bad at the game? How did you not notice DURING the match? You seriously only considered it for end game?

That was always a thing, but BHVR has made it worse by upping the reward for surviving from 5k to 7k Bloodpoints. Instead of rewarding exciting altruistic plays, the game rewards selfishness. Adding to that, due to the way MMR works, dying not only severely lessens the number of Bloodpoints you get but also rewards you with lower MMR, and as a survivor that means worse teammates. Helping teammates at the end of the match is in no way worth the risk.
It's terrible game design. When I play with my friend, he'll usually tell me to just leave at the end of the match, and if I die trying to save him he gets actually mad because I lost out on the Bloodpoints. It's more exciting to attempt the save, when I succeed it's way more rewarding than selfishly leaving without him, but the risk of losing 5k BP (now 7k) outweighs all that.

Being a team player doesn't give me mmr hate the game not the player

BHVR rewards selfish play which really just ######### with the idea that survivors are on the same team. They should promote teamwork more, with BP and MMR. Really MMR should be based on how you played during the match and not escapes, maybe survivors would stop DCing and killing themself on hook if they felt there was a point in playing the match out.

Keep in mind some players are doing achievements, daily, and tome challenges. This makes them act in strange ways.

Leaving before they even go down is a little much but against most killers unless the hook is near the exit, someone is dying in end game. Going for that unhook only gives the killer an opportunity to maybe even get more than that. It's just not worth taking that risk when you can take the 3 out 100% safely, which is still a W.

Yep! I usually loop the killer while the other survivors do the gens and then get left on hook while the others escape. I almost always had people try to save me before the update. This game is so bad right now.
