Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

It's so obvious some survivors ever play killer.

Playing possibly my last matches before "reassurance" come to ruin solo-queue for good.

I can't believe how dumb some players are. It's like they have no idea how a killer plays or even perceives the environment.

Yet, their prestige is ten or above.

The only thing I can imagine to explain that is they simply don't play killer, or not enough to understand. And if true, it makes sense that they have more problems with killers that are more difficult to use.

The best way to learn how to play against a killer is to try playing them and see how better survivors blow you up.

There is such an ego trip in this community that people are unwilling to do even that, because it would likely involve them getting rolled as said killer, but they would be too frustrated/proud to actually learn anything from it. Its easier to just cry for nerfs and hook suicide, and then be a sore winner when you either win of your own volition or get carried by having 3 teammates.

Even very good solo survivor players will still have things to learn if they play killer from time to time, especially since they'll have the perspective on what to look for at any given time. If they refuse to play the other side occasionally they're only limiting themselves.

Something to remember is that a lot of people play the game casually and a lot of people play on console too.

For people who play casually, survivor is often the more casual role. And some will just play with friends. They really have no interest in "becoming better" because this is a video game and it's not like any of the skills are transferable to something in real life. It's just a fun way to kill time. And for those on console, they have the additional problem that killer is much more difficult to play on console. It's much harder to flick the joystick to hit a spinning survivor. Most probably play on TVs where they use the TV;s speakers rather than headphones and headphones are much more important for killers than survivors (except against Spirit).

And most of the people at P10 are probably just people who casually play the game. Heard about the Prestige update and heard about the rewards. Then used the anniversary to get their main to P3 before the update which causes their main to be P9 L50. Then you level up one bloodweb and you get P10.

I'd agree that for those who enjoy the game and want to become better that playing both roles helps. But a lot of people just don't care because it's just not important or they don't really enjoy playing the other role so why spend your free time doing something you don't enjoy.

Reassurance is a big buff for non camper killers. Every surv will use it, doc 25% less perks for survs during the match

Got any examples of what makes it so obvious or is this just an us vs them post?

I'd argue it's not too different from PC. Sure, there are some maneuvers you can't to on console. (I swear it's almost impossible to 360 on console.) However, as long as you're willing to improve, it's not bad at all. This is all coming from someone who has been playing on console sense Stranger Things came out.

Indeed, a player can only really improve by playing both roles.

It makes sense. It's weird that I get grouped with them though. It doesn't even makes me angry, just puzzled.

Hopefully, that's why I've said "possibly". They have to somehow fix the glaring issue. Many propositions were done, all valid.

Have you never been grouped with trolls bent on ruining the game for other survivors? I have. In one of these instances, the killer actually joined with them. The additional information video was quite long.

This perk, as it is now, would stretch that same video to hours.

I find 360 way easier to do on the gamepad than on the keyboard/mouse. (And I'd rather play killer on k/m than gamepad). On my console account I almost exclusively play survivor.

Okay, maybe I'm just terrible at doing 360's XD. This has been very eye opening.

Your really underestimating console players here. Controller ofcourse requires more skill than mouse to aim hits but clearly does not make it imposible. Not everyone likes playing on headphones and really only killer which requires that is spirit. I play on console and 3-4K most my games on any killer. Ofcourse there is few limitations I can't exploit bugs oni 180s or blight hug tech and what ever hillbilly has. But that's on bhvr not fixing those or just allowing everyone to use them. We can't use stretched res either but that benefit more survivors. I have always wondered how some survivors know your movements as killer but they use this game breaking exploit to see over walls and obstacles you normally won't see. Which allows them to extend chases much longer. Console needs better optimization.

i really hardly think it will be this much used, or if it is, i think it's mostly useless OR cancerous, yeah, can be on two extreme sides in his actual form, this is why it need to be limited in some sort.

The thing i agree here is the fact survs never/or barely played killer, so they don't get our problems, plot twist is you have a better vision of the game as a killer because of the management you have to do and the fact you are alone. Survs think it's hard to play right now, bruh, main killers laugh at this.

    Are you trying like that:

Also note that 360 almost never work on killers with enough experiences. They are a hail-Mary. (But Nurses tend to be kind of weak to them ... if you time them perfectly)

Just a note about the headphones. I often find hidden survivors just hearing only their breath, with any killer ... or survivor for that matter.

Not required, yes, but strongly recommended.

I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's definitely harder. And, especially if you play casually, probably not that fun. It was just my own personal experience playing on both.

And I generally believed the same thing about headphones when I played killer sometimes on console. When I switched to PC and used headphones for the first time, I didn't realize just how much hearing was used by every killer. It's used fairly often for tracking through walls or knowing which generator is being worked on or even hearing footsteps and what direction they are coming from.

Also, the stretched resolution exploit you mentioned was patched a few releases ago.

I've noticed I play against killers much better if I have played as them. I primarily play killer just to take notes on other survivors and how they counter me. A good amount of time I'm like ooo, that was a good move, save to brain.

I started off as a killer main, but now I like survivor more. I'm way to empathetic as killer that most games if I'm stomping them I get my two hooks on each and then let them go.

I don't think you can play killer casually if you play for winning. Sometimes I get spinned if I don't pay attention. But as long as killer has good lunge I don't have problem. Pinhead has probably worst lunge I never gets hit throughs pallets with him. I don't think headphones give that much advantage on other killers than spirit. But each their own I quess. But for spirit I probably could use them I suck at her too bad. I once thought about learning her as she is easiest S tier killer. But I found nurse personally be better choise for me.

Yeah, Reassurance can be a very strong perk and help with camping a lot, but if has to get gutted because of trolls I’ll just give up, because why do people just need to be like that, it can be a massive loss loss scenario for Solo Q.

You can tell the ones that never play killer cause they make ludicrous statements like "don't camp in end game no matter what that's no skill pressure the 99 gates and practice chase!"

This is true, but the issue is that if you want to have fun, and part of that fun includes escaping a fair bit, you're going to climb in MMR, and eventually you're going to enter the mix with people who are "trying to win". And when if you're someone who plays (and really only wants to play) casually, that is often a less than wonderful experience.

This is also the experience as killer, your early games are going to be relatively easy (which is why an experienced surv trying killer for a short time is gonna feel deceptively easy).

I know it's been proposed that a more "competitive" mode be implemented, but I don't see that happening. So if a player wants to have fun and "win" a fair amount, eventually they'll need to reconcile with getting better. Or just learn to find enjoyment in escaping less. Or smurf. If the mantra is gonna "I just want to have fun", you can't be too caught up with results, because a lot of people play to win, and everyone is in the same pot.

My biggest gripe is that a lot of casual surv players do a lot of complaining about game balance without really having any understanding the other side.
