Where has the team spirit gone?

Is it me, well it's not me as Mr Mushwin having the same thing, what ever happened to a 4 team game? I am experiencing so much of team players not been so, amount of times and no what ever perks I use, it doesn't feel like a team. Is me going all out, but then it's not recieved back? what is going on and does anyone else feel like this? Because I either get once in a while a great time or mostly now? every man for themself?

I also feel as much as the rift is liked, some are selfish in such and wont do anything their whole aim in a game is to fully do their mission and it hurts some games, we get it you need to do missions but amount of times its messed me and my team over, all for free not so great rift freebies?

At least in solo queue you aren’t all going to live, and every survivor wants to be the one who escapes the trial.

Solo que will only ever feel like a group effort if and when you run perks designed for cooperation such as kindred and prove thyself. This is honestly why i joined a dbd discord server and play with a group now.

My theory is that now that killers have been buffed a little (hurray!) you are losing more games as a solo survivor than you used to. That drops your MMR closer to where the less experienced players are so those are who you are matched with. If you die more than you escape, your MMR will an average keep going down.

My experience has been to the contrary, as I've been fortunate to have more games where people have, at the very least, tried to work together. Of course, there are trials whereby the killer may have been a better team mate than who I was with (and no doubt a few trials where the others thought the same about me!), but overall I am experiencing better quality team players. At least with people I play with, the understanding of partnership has improved in symmetry with the killer buff.

Maybe it's to do with the time of day/ region/ MMR or something else where players aren't as cooperative? Perhaps the tome challenges at times promote a more selfish or risky style of play that goes against team work? Maybe making tome challenges that focus more on teamwork could do that?

I think it was stated mmr does not only measure kills or escapes. Or if it does I think one escape should increase your mmr more than one death. As kill rates before this patch were bit over 50% and probably now just under 60% so you are more likely die than escape.

    2 options

    1. keep going all out and trying to be the best teammate ever
    2. turn to the dark side and become a selfish survivor, power gates and leave

& yes I've experienced it. Really awful feeling when you're the ticket to the gates being powered, get 1st hooked and left for dead. But thats solo que more often than not now.

The rift missions generally have hurted the game especially on survivor side. My solo q games have been so horrible. I feel like the game is rigged from the start and i'm just there to gain some BP, with no real chance to win the game. I mean it has been like that as killer sometimes too, but at least i had action as killer. As survivor, you mostly sit on gens and hold M1, which feels like a total time waste considering my chances of surviving as solo survivor are rather low.

what do you mean "where has it gone?"

Where was it to begin with?

Unfortunately, the devs seem to have their vision of how the game should be played, and it runs contrary to how a lot of players (like myself) want to play the game on survivor.

I think the devs want this to be a survival horror experience with teamwork elements being secondary, but a lot of players treat it as a multiplayer pvp game first and not a horror experience at all after the first few hours. That disconnect between player (vet players in particular) and developer causes a lot of frustration.

Speaking for myself, I see survivor as the team game side. It's a pvp game to me. I don't think of it as a horror game or an "experience" at all. My goal is to play optimally, work together, and escape. So naturally I get really frustrated when the game doesn't let me play that way for one reason or another.

Someone else mentioned the Rift, and I think the Rift in particular highlights the need for a separate ranked mode. Very little kills my desire to play more than seeing teammates just doing tasks to complete a Rift challenge. And so many of the Rift challenges require players to throw the game.

Well with the lights out it's less dangerous...

... oh, sorry, that's Teen Spirit, my bad. 🤷‍♂️

I've said a few times now that teamwork has gone out the window recently in solo queue. I've had an increase in games where only 1-2 gens are done before it's clear the game is over, so it becomes every survivor for himself at that stage. I'm seeing alot more endgame perks, even among streamers I watch. I was reading through endgame perks last night, I feel like they're a necessity now, but not because gens are getting done.

I see survivor the same way, but if the devs view team work as secondary then it conflicts with the idea of swfs. Playing in a swf is the best way to play this game.

NGL, I did the same :) As a sort of compensation for you and similar minded players, here is a recent screenshot of my typical Spirit experience :)

Rarely do survivors in solo queue play like a team. Many start playing for the hatch quite early. It's not fun.

I never realised the site was bugged soI haven't been getting any notifications lol to me I don't think it's about MMR if I am honest, my opinion, and there has been team spirit and not just with playing with your friends. I just see it so much now, and it isn't about if the person is new or anything because if you know this game you have a feel of it and sort of perks peeps run. I am finding more Killers been a lot more friendly but is this because of rift challenges? I try my best, what's the point in going into a team game or playing such? Also a leading question, do you like the game now? or when you first played and had those first few games and experiences?

I just watched three idiots with kindred active. Two working on a generator and a third was obviously in a chase based on movement. It's too bad we can't post their names because people this stupid should be avoided.

Expectation: I'm going to run kindred so my teammates know when to come unhook me. I'm never going to die on first hook, this is going to be a great game of DBD!

Reality: "Kate, you see that? Ace is looping the killer in the other corner over there. If he doesn't run our way, we might be able to finish this gen AND one more before going for unhook. ...wait, why did they kill themself during second stage?"

Exactly why I don't run Kindred.

I really can't stand it when people do this. That happens very infrequently. It's just when it does it's frustrating. I really don't give a sh*t if you run kindred or not, the value is still useful. I use kindred for the information I get when someone else is on the hook. It good to know if it's a skilled killer that goes hunting or clod that stands still.
