Unhooking and Healing
Hey Guys. When is the best time to unhook a survivor? I never want to unhook right away because the killer usually will just down both of us right away. So I just want to know whats the best way to do it? And also should you heal right after you unhook? I really don't like doing that so I tend to wave them away so we can hide but sometimes they dont listen! Am I doing this wrong?

I generally wait for the TR to fade out and then some. Give the killer at least ten seconds to walk away from the hook. Generally, more is better and I prefer to wait a bit on my gen or whatever before going for the unhook, unless I have confirmation the killer is in another chase or I know they're leaving to pressure a gen with Tinkerer.
Healing under the hook is a risky move unless you know the killer is busy with someone else, or they teleported away and cannot immediately teleport back. If you have We'll Make It, sure, heal under that hook, but otherwise it's better to move a moderate distance away behind some cover. (However, if a survivor wants to take you across the map to some obscure corner, they're wasting too much time and don't bother with them. It's also possible that they don't want you to heal them if they aren't stopping in any reasonable time - Resilience, Pharmacy, Inner Healing, etc.)
That said, if the survivor's still waiting under that hook, I'd heal them anyway unless you know the killer is coming back. Since communication is so difficult, it's often better not to fight a stubborn player unless you have confirmation that what they want is a bad idea.

If you unhook just after TR fades away, killer comes back and punishes you.
If you unhook after a while, killer comes back to camp the second stage.
There is a sweet spot between these two... somewhere

If you want to heal after unhooking, bring We'll make it. Sometimes if the killer is planning on coming back, it's too late and you'll finish the reset
If you want to make sure it's as safe as you can, bring Kindred and Open Handed - Kindred will reveal the killer if they are within 16m of the hook and open handed extends it to 32m. If the killer is more than 32m away, then that unhook should basically be 100% safe. With this combo you can 100% guarantee safe unhooks
Pay attention to the HUD, if you see another survivor take damage shortly after a hook, it's safe to assume they're committed to the chase. You can run teammate aura perks or kindred to make sure the killer is still on them
