Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Why is everyone making the BP grind so complicated

I see all these posts with people doing all sorts of math about the grind reduction and BP stuff and complicating stuff but it doesn't require much math at all. BHVR isn't running a economy they don't have to worry about breaking it. Here's the simple math

More BP = happy players

More BP = more perks

More perks = more things to experiment with

So the solution is give everyone more BP. No need to remove perk tiers anymore or lessen the cost of anything just give people more Bp. Double the amount you get per game and it will better for both sides. That's as simple as it gets. While your at it remove the pointless 20k prestige cost that was so pointless.

(Also these 50k bp login bonuses are more of a middle finger than a reward considering they won't even complete a bloodweb sometimes)

More bp means more of the stronger addons means they'll have to be nerfed into the ground like iri head.

If there is one thing good about the current system it's that rare addons are actually rare now.

That said survivors bp gain desperatly needs to go up

I hope you aren't advocating for MORE Iri Head nerfs, it's arguably the most balance Iri rn

I think that by saying it got nerfed into the ground i made it clear that it really shouldn't be nerfed further.

Still wish they went with a range requirement instead of locking you to one hatchet

The problem with old iri head wasen't really that it was too strong (it was)

But how insanely common it was. You could very easilly have a iri head huntress every single game with her by playing a farming doctor match once in a while.

You could pretty much count on one or two of them every bloodweb.

Old iri head would be nowhere near the problem it was back then with the new system

I can imagine just about any pink add-on getting nerfed, because the community doesn't think that higher rarities justify higher power levels. Leprose Lichen, All-Seeing Spirit, Hellshire Iron, you name it. Nothing is safe anymore.

I thought this was going to be about how most killers I see put on their tunneling pants as soon as they smell a cake in the offerings, but yeah, base bloodpoints could use a boost, especially considering how expensive (sometimes useless) items, add ons and offerings are.

    I agree.

The changes made to the grind DID help and the grind IS lessened by a noticeable amount now, and the core remaining issue is that BP gains aren't enough. Just giving people more bloodpoints after every match would help this new system shine and function smoothly for everyone, even moreso than it already does.

This could also be achieved with more avenues for bloodpoints, like making daily challenges cycle indefinitely or giving more of them, but sometimes simpler is better.

Honestly, if they adjusted the bp gains a little bit, it probably would be better for the game overall. They definitely helped me (played the game for 2 years now) with the grind. Now I can run so many fun builds on all my killers, which wouldn't have been a thing for awhile (I was prestiging all my survivors first in old system).

Honestly, the best way they could achieve higher bp gains without completely getting rid of the grind would be adjusting the scoring events and making them worth more. Raising the category cap again (maybe to 12k) and providing more ways to get bp in certain categories for both survivors and killers. Instead of getting 20k points on average, getting closer to 25k-30k points a match.

They could even add a bp multiplier to how many unique hooks you get or how many survivors escape the match. Not a lot, but maybe 12.5% multiplier for each survivor hooked/escaped. Not much, but it's still an incentive to go for unique hooks and stick around to increase the chance of team survival.

As someone else suggested, they could also increase the bp you gain from doing dailies and make more dailies available for people to do. Incentivizes people to play the game and rewards them a bloodwebs worth of bp.

"We need to make sure people spend lots of BP but get very little of value in return, so they will need to continue to spend more BP to get little in return, so they will need to continue to...."

most of iri addons are utterly trash anyway, only a couple of killers have good iri addons, everyone else has mediocre/awful iri addons (or at least not worth their actual cost)

But forcing players to spend 50,000 BP to get a prestige level isn't worth it (IMO)

Yea having the ability to not worry about getting to unlock teachables does a lot... but at what cost

They needed to do something to level it all out and that's why all of those people did do the math

What we all really want is the BP incentives to come back soon. I remember them saying they'd return with Wesker's release and they were also turned on in the PTB. That should definitely help out with the BP grind in some way!

Nah, if they bring a cake, I play nice. No cake equals no mercy.

The longer it takes to fix it, the more it can be touted when they do finally roll it out. The standard of poverty aggrandizes the posession of wealth.
