Locker flashlight tech

Do people think that having 2 people in lockers next to each other with flashlights should have any counterplay? I can hear you say, "just leave." But would it count as holding the Killer hostage (until their batteries run out) if they never progress the game? The whole team is just t-bagging just out of reach. It's incredibly stupid and easy to do. Some Killers like Trapper could outplay it, but not all. Assuming decent survivors can make it to lockers, it feels like the Killer is not a threat whatsoever. Not because of skill, but because of an (debatable) exploitable situation.

I know bully squads often don't all escape. I don't care that it's rare. I don't care that you probably could win by going elsewhere. That's not the point. They succeed in bullying, or are simply untouchable and you have to leave. In that moment, they win because there is no counterplay. I don't think that's a good thing.

What could a solution be? Maybe you can no longer jump out of a locker you have been in for 10 seconds. Like how Head On deactivates. Just curious what people think. Jerks will always be jerks, we'll move on because it's just a game.

    I think those were fixing and you are unable to blind killer when he get someone on the locker

    If you aren't a believer and one born of light, you have to slug. Basically feign that you are going to open the locker, they get into position, down them. Rinse and repeat.


    Remember they can't do it alone. These types cannot go to the bathroom alone, they keep holding hands. No matter what. Once their will is broken, you can hook if you want. Once they realize you won't fall for it, they will stop and desperately try to do gens and/or give up.

    While yes it is annoying, I can promise it’s not easy. Most people cannot time saves for anything lol. I always take it as a team that isn’t doing gens.

    technically lightborn is a counter, but then again, i shouldn't be forced to waste a slot just for that issue (which seems more a unintended bug marked as "tech" rather than a valid gameplay mechanic)

    Yeah yeah I can already hear everyone "I shouldn't need a perk to counter a tech" and idk what to tell you, mostly because I never take this perk off, freaking hilarious reactions all the time, too worth it

    Yes, a counter for such gameplay should take up a slot. Just like counter for tunneling needs to take up at least one slot for survivor.

    Just burn through their batteries, nothing else you can really do other than hope that they mess up the blind timing. Also leaving them for last or trying to catch them in an awful position works.

    Also one born of light can easily deal with it, as the other replies mention.

    I actually enjoy going against these types of players. They're not doing generators and they are taking risks. Often they get into the locker healthy and leave my shoulder injured, they got a fancy save and I still got to injure them, that's a win-win. Once you're on to them you can almost always find an opportunity to mess up their plans.

    The issue is that it allows a savvy team of survivors to take the game hostage for ages, and there's very little counterplay. It's basically Boil Over again.

    Because the angles are complete BS for Locker Blinds - there's no way to actually get the beam properly into the killer's face just like if they're directly facing a wall but for lockers it "magically" works.

    I mean it's not rocket science; calling it a tech is implying more skill than it takes. It's no more a tech than blinding the killer at a pallet. I'm awful with flashlights and the only two places I can get blinds are pallets and lockers.

    It's just a map design oversight that can be taken advantage of for no other reason than to harass the killer.

    And if you are someone who enjoys spending half a match doing this sort of thing, you really get to surrender any right to complain about the killer playing in an "unfun" manner.

    The killers aren’t directly facing the lockers though? They stand a bit behind and you could blind them normally if they picked up in the same position. Plus blight, twins, demo, and kinda ghostie can’t be locked saved.

    It's hard to pull off, stop being such babies. And if you are going to say "no it's so easy", you almost rarely see it in games, so if it's so easy everyone would be doing it.

    Lmao it’s not the same as blinding at a pallet. It is considerably harder. You literally have to time it PERFECTLY or it doesn’t work.

    Locker FL saves are not hard. I get them consistently.

    Wat. No, it absolutely isn't. Aim for the killer's 'chin', and you'll get it 100% of the time.

    You can at least fake a break to bait a pallet flashy. A locker flashy is 100% uncounterable if they want to abuse it. Hell, I can do it and I'm terrible at flashlight saves.

    I don't mind that it's easy to get a flashlight save at a locker. That by itself is fine. It's another tool for a good team of survivors to use if there isn't a pallet or window immediately available. But is there a way to not make it repeatable? Lockers should not be that safe.

    Honestly, people say that having 2 people off gens is a good thing. Sure, for the 5 seconds you stay, and then you leave because you have better things to do than be blinded for the next 4 minutes. They heal or jump back on the nearest gen, and unless you get the jump on them, just rinse and repeat. All while at least 1 other survivor is able to just sit on other gens. It's no different than being in a chase you can never win. It's clearly a losing battle, even if you catch them out the very next time.

    It's easy to say things like, "just beat them to a locker," but maybe they just stand in front of lockers. It's honestly not even about 'winning' the game. You leave and kill their teammates who are actually doing gens. The situation is ######### for Killer no matter when it pops up, however rare.

    I read a comment somewhere that maybe after a few blinds the Killer could 'adapt' and it would take longer to blind (within like 30 seconds, then timers would revert to normal). In normal gameplay I guess this might be helpful to Killers that make multiple poor pick-ups in a row, and maybe that's not good. But it would eventually close the window (or, the DOOR... ok I'm done) for repeated locker saves.

    You make a wrong example since tunneling is a tactic that devs actually use and it was an intended mechanic (sadly) from the begin, while this "tech" is just a bug that devs simply don't want to fix because "reasons" (like blight and oni j flick, which they were finally being addressed or the "ghost tech" of survivors that consisted in deactivating their own hitbox in order to go inside the killer hitbox)
