Why has desicive strike not been buffed back to 5 seconds

because it just hurt the killers who didnt need to be hurt by it the most like Trapper, Pig, etc. While barely having an effect on high mobility killers like Nurse or Blight.
I think it should go to 4 seconds for a nice middle ground

I could see them doing that but keeping the deactivation when the gates are powered. I'd rather compromise and have it be a 3 second stun and still be active when the gates are powered. Killers will camp then even if they played a skillful game otherwise. That's not to say they shouldn't but we know the drill, unhook, killer runs backwards counting down bt even if it's not applicable, hit, pick up. Not having any protection during the endgame is stupid.
All the best perks on both side are disliked because of SWF with comms.

Dude at least at 5 seconds you could lose sight of the survivor.
If i eat a ds with nurse now its not even an inconvenience

Swf with comms depending if they all play together are in a higher mmr surely, I mean if there is actually a thing..
I was a ghostue main and now I don't enjoy killer so jumped on survivor, and the combo, otr ds dh is lethal, you can take a otr hit, then if killer catches up to you, ds which allows you to be back to the injured state so allows for a dh aswell..
But up against any mobility killer like nurse as you have said, doesn't even make a difference, just extends the chase for maybe another 10 seconds, yes if you have a good team smashing gens it's worth it, but for those solo quers I feel sorry, infact almost every solo game I have played someone kills themselves on hook or dcs in first couple of mins.. I think buffing ds will certainly help this to stop that immediate dc

Don´t understood this change also.
DS deactivating when gates are powered is by far enough.
It should go back to 5 secs as 3 secs is like nothing.

I think killers should be tiered and certain perks should work differently in response: e.g. blight, nurse, spirit have a longer stun as they're 'fastest tier' whilst the likes of Michael in his bast stage have a lesser stun because they're 'slowest tier'. It would be far too much effort though.

Rebuff to five seconds, remove the skill check, make it worth for both hook states, and make it also disable killer powers for 10 seconds. Then we would have a scary anti-tunneling perk again.

I think that would be too much, honestly just as it is but buffed to 5 seconds is fine...
The game should be designed so it's actually hard to escape from the killer, I just think that there are so many ways the killer can tunnel you from hook and ds was a deterant to an extent, yes they can slug you but then unbreakable becomes clutch in those situations..

And when you say second chances, so if you get downed by a nurse then you get of with ds and she just ports to you and downs you again that's fair.. what about poor trapper...

Because it was only supposed to be 3 seconds, it was raised to 5 seconds because the stun effect was being shortened by enduring and after they fixed that they took forever to nerf it back. Now with the further buff to basekit BT there is no need to make it 5 seconds again.

It is suppose to hurt killers for tunneling. If the perk doesn't hurt the killer than what was the point of running it. Even before the change I got value out of DS only 10% of the time. The idea that you had DS was more powerful than the perk itself. We have gotten to a point where DS is so irrelevant people tunnel because they know you have nothing.

Yeah Im aware its supposed to hurt killers. But it should hurt all killers equally, which it does currently.
Before you would take the stun as Nurse, Blight or any other killer who can deal with distance easily and be on top of a Survivor immediately, cant really say the same for Trapper or Pig which really dont need anything else going against them

Okay but, we live in a world where they refuse to tune perks on a killer by killer basis. So you either make the perk work against all killers or against none, and they choose non, shocker.

lol go for unhooker and it's a dead perk, it's 60 seconds after unhook and it desactivates if you breathe, that nerf was the worst by far it's pathetic at 3 seconds, tunneling is meta because of it

I mean with the new changes coming to being unhooked, you have absolutely no excuse to be in a dead zone. 44m of distance from the hook is PLENTY. Thats not even counting the extra little bit of distance youll get from DS

Should 5s agains't slower killers and 10s agains't fastet killers? Or disable their powers but 5s was fine. It punished tunneling which is arguably most unfun playstyle apart from facecamping.

If youre lasting as long as a juicy fruit against every killer after a DS stun, thats a skill issue.
Nurse or Blight I understand, maybe even Spirit. But anyone else? Nah

Apparently you do, because at least five people on here seem to agree with my buff proposal. Have you considered not picking up a survivor you just hooked <60 seconds ago, who hasn’t had done any conspicuous actions?

yeah of course at least 5 people would agree also if someone would ask for a machine gun turret above every gen that shoots survivors automatically, but that doesn't mean it's not ridiculous, or it would ever be implemented

Tunneling is unfun yes, and the only way to fix that is to make major changes to the base game
Doesnt matter how long you make the DS stun, tunneling will always be a thing

Because the entire point of nerfing DS was to reduce how often it was used, if you buff it back to 5s it becomes meta again and people will just pair it with OTR bringing back the second chance meta; no thanks. DS is in a good place, if you want extra anti tunnel then bring OTR, tunneling is part of the game and not meant to be completely countered.

yeah I agree. I didn't even play those killers, I sorta liked Thana as some sort of progressive slowdown depending how good I am at finding and harming separate survivors. Also it was an incentive for killers to not tunnel one person only, so yeah. If they wanted to nerf it probably they should have made it like it only activates on survivors which are harmed by basic attack or something. The way sloppy butcher, or Franklins work. Or change those flat percentages a bit.
DS wasn't very good in the past either in my opinion. Killers didn't pick them up right away, just chased around others or kicked some gens until the timer on the DS wore off.

See that's where you almost had it right. Killers slugging gave teams the ability to save that person being tunneled. DS was good because killers feared it. Now killers fear nothing, they auto hit off hook and chase you down for one health state, it is free real estate to tunnel people right now.

Considering the cooldown buffs, a 5 second DS is more than fair.
If we cant havethat, then make DS a button like For The People and let it work on every hook stage.

Okay you read what I said though right, they are auto hitting people off the hook. How is a another 5 seconds going to change that? They are respecting OTR by hitting you off hook, 5 extra seconds of baseline BT literally changes nothing.

It only hurt them if they activated the perk. They could just not tunnel and be done with it. 5 seconds is fine. It was fine already, outside of the EGC usage, and with that clipped, there's no reason not to have it at -at least- 5 seconds.

A 5 second DS would do a lot more than a 10 seconds baseline BT. I would also rather have a baseline DS over a baseline BT.

Don't remove the skill check but make it near unmissable. DS should be used within the first second or two of being picked up and the skillcheck system is the perfect coatrack to hang that function on. It's got audio and visual cues all baked into it.

yeah but you see, DS activates for 60 seconds. So in order to add it as a base kit, probably DS must be reduced also to 25 seconds or something. Otherwise I don't mind if they would replace basekit BT with DS.
