A new player's guide to totems
As there's lots of new-ish players and the next chapter will likely bring in quite a wave, a little thing on boons and hexes:
If there's a healing boon (boon: circle of healing) up, you don't need to sit next to the totem to heal. all boons have an aura, so you can find a save spot to heal up.
Circle of Healing and exponential make a great combo. expo let's you recover faster if you are left on the ground (signaled by the bar being yellow) and allows you to get back to your feet.
Shadow Step and (i forgot the other boon) also make a great combo, hiding your scratchmarks and giving you a slight speedboost.
as for hexes:
If it glows, it goes. Yes, it might be haunted ground, but better get rid of that than having to deal with Devour Hope. Also, cleansing totems is still the best way to counter noed, to the point it can make killer's ragequit when they see noed didn't activate.
Thank you.

Also please stop cleansing Dull totems. It's useless 99% of time. I swear cleansing a dull totem should give you negative BPs.

say thanks to challenges like "cleanse 10 totems". but even there you can play nice totem build

I'm sure your entire team that could of used it for CoH to provide a winning advantage appreciates the thought.
I'll only cleanse a dull these days for my Inner Strength if CoH isn't in play.

there is something very satisfying about having cleansed all totems except a boon and you see that little heap of skulls in the score screen.

Well literally over seriously, no worries far as I'm concerned. It's the problem with text communication you rarely get the speaker's actual intention due to lack of visual queues. Just left with what is written.

If I'm playing survivor and a fellow survivor brings RPD offering you can bet I'm cleaning the library and office totems :)
