If they added comms to dbd...
I would shut it off. I like soloq, I don't want to coordinate on comms.
Thank you very much.

It would never be a solution to shorten the gap between solo and swf survivors, because some would simply not want to communicate with strangers. We definitely need information buffs for solo survivors, like the suggested survivor icons displaying what each survivor is doing. That would be such an awesome feature. A ping system would also be awesome, but kind of doubt the devs would want to go there.
A very small part of me is hoping that they delayed certain things they talked about in their anniversary presentation to work on these type of solo queue buffs instead. Probably being too optimistic though, but who knows. To be fair, BHVR has been doing good work lately.

Maybe both system can coexist

yeah i would shut it off and they get yelled at in endgame because i didnt want to listen to someone whine into the mic all game

The cool part of this is that MMR would separate the people who would and wouldn't want to communicate. That is your choice to make, and it should be opt in not opt out.

considering that the game is designed around information we are supposed to get from perks, non verbal communication like emotes, and overall inutition, I'm still thinking that voice communication is not something they will add or the game is supposed to be played. That being said, if there is a general balance issue between the experience as a solo survivor and a swf, the only way to balance the game around solo players is to remove swf from online matches, and playing with friends should be restricted to custom games only. If not, the game will never be balanced around solo players.

Agreed!

Ok.

Have toxic idiots screaming at me because I'm not doing what they want when they want it? No thanks.

As somebody who's played ranked Dota for the better part of their life, voice comms isn't worth it. I'd rather suffer at the hands of a thousand basement bubbas than listen to some of the insanity that people spew. dbd has a pretty bad community, I honestly wouldn't want to embolden these people.

Just basekit kindred would help a lot and I think that would be pretyy easy to add. Also making ability to mark generators being repaired would be fine. Both these information swf has available. Then some low tier killers could gets buffs and killers could get maybe basekit BBQ and grim embrace.

Same here, I prefer the ambient sounds over static and chaotic background noise.

Me too. I’d turn it off.
Also could you imagine the tantrums, some giant man baby screaming in your ear because they aren’t getting exactly what they want from the game.
MWO has voice comms but that makes sense you are in a sophisticated mech as part of a coordinated lance, but I do individually mute people because it’s still online pvp when means man baby armchair general Jo often makes an appearance and he likes to be heard.
Also the moment players hear a girl it’s like some horny teen date fest, it’s brutal sometimes.

You won't even need to turn it off, the overwhelming majority of players won't even use it

Honestly, it's not necessary. Base-kit Kindred would be more than enough. SWF already have that information anyway so it won't change much. But Solo Q desperately could use it at this point.

They openly said multiple times voice comms will not be added

It would solve so many solo queue issues, but survivor mains rightfully know that their kind is not to be trifled with and they are justifiably afraid of communications from fellow survivors. I do not blame them one bit.

Id like if they added proximity chat with the option to turn it off/mute specific people. Most games with comms have this and honestly I think itd be great as some one who usually likes to screw around. In fact screwing around in a solo q game is how I met one of my main friend groups that Ive been talking to for about 2 years now.
Now what I think would be even better is if it was proximity chat. At the moment I can only dream of uncloaking behind an unsuspecting Survivor and play the Bad to the Bone riff...

Mute em and use ping system.

Game evolves and if players says they want comms they should and balance around it
0 -
No because;
1/ having played Friday 13th before DBD it can be an absolute faff.
2/ BHVR would sign and seal it as a solution to all the soloq woes, despite the majority of people clearly not wanting to use it.
1 -
Yeah i wouldn't want it either
If i can't turn it off i would rather mute the entire game then hear somebody screaming in my ear the entire time

Especially as console crossplay is a thing it'd be 10x worse than anything we heard in DotA. I get tumors just listening to console surv streamers in my games.

too funny

random survivor: (incoherent screaming) WHY DIDNT YOU SAVE ME OFF THE FKING HOOK?!?!?!
Kindred user: looks at survivor in the basement with Bubba in the corner
Yeah, comms are gonna be a no from me.

If I learned one thing from that video, it’s that Nurses should run Spirit Fury. 🙂

Same. I'd rather not be screamed at by Nea because I didn't shave 0.01 second off gen times
