Smurf accounts?
Lately, I've been going up against players with odd number of hours played...
Just went up against a survivor that has about 500 hours in game, 200 of these in the past 2 weeks.
I don't understand how that's even possible, but I notice often these accounts with very low total number of hours, and a huge number of hours in the past two weeks.
Are they smurf accounts?
I should also mention that they are usually noticeably very good at the game. Don't seem like beginners.

Are you on PC?
If so the possibility is that these are former console players who have transitioned to PC so they can use keyboard and mouse and/or enjoy better resolution at better frame rates.

How can you tell it's in the past 2 weeks?
The "Recent Activity" on Steam profiles is based on all of their game time in the last two weeks (in all games), if you have another method of knowing, I'd love to know.
Edit: Also if they're very good and /actually/ putting in 200 hours a fortnight they'd probably have high MMR anyways.

Yeah it shows all their games, but you can see their games listed and when’s the last they played a certain game

Schools out for summer in the UK, lots of kids just wanna pick up games and play, it's likely that, esp if they've been watching streamers play, kids learn quick.
